I called Neal Harris to check my heating unit and perform necessary maintenance. This was the best call I could’ve made. The technician was very competent and worked in a difficult situation to fix my furnace. This gentleman cared about what he was doing and kept me informed including a compete report after finishing his work. This is an honest review. Try Neal Harris, you won’t be disappointed.

Well......where do I start
Well......where do I start. To begin.....4, years ago, my first mobile home which also is my very first house, had an original AC system from building of 1985. They convinced us to get ductless. At the time,.no harm....no foul. Now,.4 years later, my units are all breaking down. It's not the brand..... Daikin is a very reputable brand. Service experts techs, are prejudiced and hypocrites. As a former addict, I got into talking with a tech about my experience strength and hope. He took MY PERSONAL BUSINESS AND PLAYED A VICTIM. Told his manager he stepped on a hypodermic needle and still injured himself.......HELLO!!!! YOU WORE WORK ISSUED BOOTS. Unless you purposely removed your nasty shoes looking for a way to get injured, then that concept is illogical.
Now, a month later, renovations just completed on my house, and I walked in my front door at 715 last night, to find my ac busted. Not running and my house at 92 degrees. Made emergency call. Was told a tech would be here at 8 pm to help. Never happened. Called me at 840 pm to tell me tech clocked out at 8 pm, and now I'll have to wait until morning. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I have a disorder (official diagnosis mund you);of hyperhidrosis. I dehydrate quickly and sweat profusely. Not to mention my poor 2 cats.
So here I am at 5 am the next morning sitting in a large puddle of sweat.......miserable. bottom line......system is not even 5 years old, and THEY neglected to inform me they require 6 month regular maintenance. Now because of their negligence MY WHILE G*" D'$N SYSTEM IS SHOT. I am currently researching attorneys to sue. DO NOT HIRE THEM!!! THEY ARE SHEISTERS AND LIARS. IF I COUKD RATE.25 STARS, I WOULD.
West Palm Beach Condo
West Palm Beach condo, May 2024: Contract stated $20,000 thousand for high-end Lennox HVAC (full install, permit, crane boom, old removal). Bill: $35,000 thousand just for HVAC—plus $5,000 thousand for Rheem Professional Classic 40-gallon electric water heater + recirculating pump. Total forty thousand ($31,000 thousand balance + $9,000 thousand paid)—with hidden fees padded in and no breakdown. Real quotes (Home Depot/Lowe's/Costco/Reddit/Angi 2024): Lennox rooftop package eighteen to twenty-three thousand. Rheem unit + install + permit: $1,500 hundred max. Pump: under $800 hundred. Total should've been $20,000 to $25,000 grand. Then they filed a mechanic's lien on my property—without ever notifying me. Overcharged $15,000 grand. Invoices available.
Be a Wise and Inquisitive Consumer
Customer service was adequate and professional in providing a termination agreement for the advantage programs I no longer wanted. Per the termination agreement, “The parties agree to refrain from any actions which may lead to the impairment of the other’s reputation or good standing in the community or industry, or which may interfere with their relationship with their customers. Customer agrees that he/she will not in any way maliciously disparage or defame ARS or any of its affiliated, including, but not limited to, their officers, directors and employees, in any form, including the media, and he/she will not induce any other person to do so.”
I strongly advise consumers to shop around for the best deal that works for them and their budgets. I advise all consumers to ask many questions when being sold extra items.
The technicians who service equipment are usually very proficient.
Philip and Todd were excellent
Philip and Todd were excellent. They explained everything and within a day I had a brand new unit up and running. I would definitely recommend them.
BEWARE
I’m extremely disappointed with this company’s work (Levy & Son, now Service Experts - Dallas). We had to replace our cast-iron sewer pipes and the job was done incorrectly from the start, which caused ongoing problems. After repeated issues, we were forced to hire another plumbing company, who confirmed the original work was substandard and had to completely redo it. This company’s poor workmanship cost us significant extra time, stress, and money that should never have been necessary. When I spoke with a manager, he deflected blame and avoided any responsibility for their mistakes. I would absolutely not recommend this company and strongly advise avoiding them.
Hire only if you want mold in your house
PARDEE IS PART OF A SELF-INSURED PRIVATE EQUITY COMPANY. THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THE MOLD YOU SEE IN THE PICTURES BELOW. WE ARE STILL OWED OVER $30K, AND THEY HAVE NOT PAID THE CONTRACTOR AS REQUIRED.
Updated to 1 star in Jan 2026 for outright negligence in installing and maintaining the system, which led to airborne mold levels over 40X higher than outside air, mold and water damage throughout the entire attic and between two of the second-story walls, and attempts to claim this was normal despite over twenty service calls from the day after it was installed incorrectly until it was removed due to Pardee's negligence and severe lack of attention to detail.
Their field service manager is on tape three months after installation, saying, "I told them it wouldn't work with that ducting."
Wiring was left hanging off rafters with no cable management, and the controller's terminal board was exposed to the elements because the cover was not installed. Technician rolled his eyes and gave an exasperated sigh when I asked him why he thought it was okay to leave it like that not once, not twice, but even the third time he'd been to the house.
It was over three weeks from their first visit to install the system until the thermostat would control the system correctly.
In March 2025, during service call somewhere in the teens in the first six months of system being installed, they performed a differential pressure test across the air handler. Their lack of attention to detail resulted in a 1 to 1.5" uncovered hole at the exhaust plenum, blowing cold air into the attic nonstop for months.
In May 2025, we noticed the mold in the attic and could smell it in the house.
After enough calls to Pardee, the co-GM, Joe, finally came out to look at the system and told me that mold in the attic was normal given the summer humidity in Charleston, which is a stretch for a house built in 2015. It was also a poor attempt to blow smoke up someone who inspected piping and HVAC systems in a former life.
In August, I discovered the hole in the exhaust duct and showed Joe the cause-and-effect of Pardee's lack of professionalism. Causation correlated perfectly to our power bills doubling starting the day of that visit in March, and the mold covering the entire attic and blowing throughout the house.
At this point Joe said while he couldn't be sure it was the fault of Pardee, they were willing to replace the system.
There was no mention of removing or mitigating the mold in our house, which he could no longer deny responsibility and accountability.
He said that would require calling his insurance company and he was hoping to handle it without involving them. I recommended he call their insurance company since I was talking to lawyers.
We were out of our house for two months while basically the entire second-floor ceiling was replaced, along with all insulation in the attic and portions of walls and floors.
It is now January 2026. The house still has not been repaired to code, and Pardee, their private equity firm, Service Advantage Experts, and their insurance representative have stopped responding to emails and phone calls from both us and the contractors they were supposed to pay directly.
This is the "insurance" company that will not respond. While their email address ends with @travelers.com it is clear that Travelers has nothing to do with this claim.

We are still owed over $40,000 for contractors who have already completed the work and for clothing, keepsakes, and other things throughout the house ruined by the mold they caused.
If anyone knows of a good mold lawyer in Charleston, please leave their name and number as a reply below.
complete scammers
complete scammers. I'm not wasting my time explaining myself but they are complete scumbags who should be in prison. They rip off old people.
Aggressive Driving
11/12/25 around 3 pm I witnessed truck # 23672 (GA Tag CXQ92**) driving erratically NB on Powder Springs Road in Marietta GA. Not using turn signal and in/out of traffic. I called the # on the truck and could never get a manager, supervisor or anyone part of the “leadership team”. Horrible customer service to not have someone to speak with immediately!!!!
"Lightning Fast Response"? NOT
My wife and I have been customers of Roland J Down Service Experts (Clifton Park, NY) for many years, having purchased a total of two new furnaces and A/C units from them, one not that long ago.
We have always had a maintenance contract with them for our equipment which we were told provided priority service. We had an issue which I could not identify at first, and was quite worried about, involving our gas-hot air furnace. When placing a service call on Saturday (expecting both "guaranteed priority service" and a "lightning fast response" these terms being used on their website) I was given an appointment 4 days from now! This is not the service response time I expected from this company especially with the maintenance plan I pay for. If this was a lack of heat issue during the winter, the ramifications could have been quite severe. I investigated the issue with the furnace more fully and was able to correct it myself, thankfully. We had sent them two emails regarding this issue and have received no response. This rating is for the incredible long response time as a "priority" customer, as well as ignoring two emails.
Stay Away from Service Experts Take Advantage Program
I signed up for Service Experts’ “Advantage Program” in 2021, but it has turned into a Take Advantage Program. I am locked into a 10-year lease costing over $13,600 for equipment worth less than half that, with no ownership at the end. I’ve already paid over $5,000, yet there has been no proactive service, no follow-up, and independent testing shows the Halo 5 system does not adequately soften or purify water. I specifically needed better water quality for health reasons, but the system leaves hardness, chloramines, and metals in my water. Management initially responded to my complaint and then went silent. This program is overpriced, underperforming, and fails to deliver the “100% satisfaction guarantee” they advertise.
Jared and Paul were very polite
Jared and Paul were very polite, friendly, and found problem. Installed new attic fan in short time. would highly recommend this company based on my excellent experience with Jared and Paul. Thank you guys.
We all have choices - Not the best choice
We all have choices, and like a good home owner I received 3 AC quotes. As of now it does not appear I made the right choice and completely regret going with this company. Nothing has gone right. Although they were the middle cost quote, I decided on Hays Air Conditioning (apparently owned by Service Experts, yet another surprise) mostly because the sales process was thorough and they had decent reviews.
I’m installing 2 new AC units in a newly renovated home. Installers broke the home sprinkler pipe causing major water damage to the master bath, closers and bedroom. Additionally, and separately, installers put a foot through the ceiling of my living room causing additional damage to my ceiling and lighting. The kicker though, through this whole ordeal, was that I received not a single call from managers or supervisors the entire day, despite the fiasco happening at my house; they left it in the hands of the onsite crew, apparently they were all too busy. I called my sales rep Aaron 4 times just to get updates as to what, if anything, they were doing, and I was told he escalated the issue and I would receive a call. Well, no calls received, not a single one. So far the handling of my installation and me personally could not have been worse.
Look, I’m of the mindset that accidents happen. However, common customer courtesy and the basic respect I deserve warranted a call from management saying “I’m sorry, we have your back, this is our mistake and we’ll make it right”. That’s what reputable company’s do, they take care of their customers and stand behind their work. Nope, not a single call, doesn’t even appear they give a sh*t. We’ll see how they handle my repairs, as not only is there damage to the areas directly affected by the water leak, but I have dirt footprints throughout my brand new home. So for now, this is a 1 star review, and likely many, many, others to follow until all my repairs are completed to my standards and satisfaction, not their insurance company’s.
I’ll be back to either update this review and indicate they stood by their mistakes and fixed all their damage, hassle free, or the review will remain, along with many others that I will continue to post, which will be followed by a letter from my attorney, and a formal complaint to the ROC. I have shown more constraint, calmness, and patience through this process than they deserve, and if they’re 1/2 the company they claim, they’ll make this right. Otherwise, all my resources will be put to the fullest extent possible to ensure, at a minimum, customers are aware of the lack of service they provide and that I am ultimately fully compensated for the damage they’ve caused.
I will also be leaving negative reviews for Hays Air Conditioning and Orangutan Air, as apparently they’re all one big happy family. Consumers should know who they’re dealing with.
Both new what the problem was and corrected it.
I had a problem with my water pressure in my kitchen faucet. Two nice gentlemen came to fix this problem.
Matthew Carter and John Payne both were efficient in finding the problem and correcting it efficiently. It now works fine and appreciate their good workmanship.

BEWARE of STRAND BROS SERVICE…
BEWARE of STRAND BROS SERVICE "EXPERTS"!!! Strand Brothers doesn't deserve even one star! They deserve zero stars!!! Our Strand Brothers HVAC broke this weekend, and a Strand technician came out to repair our unit. The technician told my husband and I they could replace our entire HVAC unit within two days. However, the technician told us it would take 3 weeks to get the rusted coil replaced!!! It will take strand 3 WEEKS to repair our HVAC unit, but only 2 DAYS to replace our unit. THIS FEELS LIKE FRAUD!!! This is June 15th, and our AC unit is broken!!
Strand Brothers would not even guarantee us a response regarding our existing warranty within 24 hours. I filed a complaint with Strand Brothers, and they told me it would take 36 to 48 hours to get any response concerning our warranty or the complaint I had just filed. We are without air conditioning, and we just paid Strand Brothers $722 to fix our unit. It is still broken, leaking water through the unit into our laminate floor, and destroying our flooring! And we can’t even find out if our unit is under warranty for 36 to 48 hours!! We will never use Strand Brothers services again!!!
I have issues about unclear contract…
I have issues about unclear contract terms, high costs to exit agreements, and poor customer service. I was misled about the true costs and obligations associated with the program as was the plumber that I signed the contract with. I am over 70 years old and and asked the plumber about the contract and he told me that it was a month to month rental that could be canceled at any time. When I asked to remove the water tanks, I was told that I had to pay $4,000 plus the removal cost of $500 even if I keep the tanks for the 10 year contract I still had to pay the same amounts. The plumber talked to his manager and learn the same information. He has found a new company to work for and quit. I want to sell the house and was told I must give them the name of the new owners and get them to sign the new contract or I would still be responsible for the total costs.
