Very disappointed with SERE Belfast.
I bought an ID.5 in March for a decent price, the staff were friendly and well organised, showing me what was needed to bring the car into the republic. Unfortunately, they sold me a car with two active safety recalls and this is where the nightmare begins.

The driverside door would randomly open while driving but also when locked. This meant that the alarm would go off in the middle of the night waking myself and the neighbours. There was no way to lock the car without activating the alarm so for 4 weeks I had to leave the car unlocked in the driveway. Not ideal.

After calling multiple VW garages to find the earliest service available I was told that recall could only be fixed in the UK. This meant I had to miss a day of work and drive the car from Kildare up to Enniskillen. After a day in service, I was told the software update couldn't be completed and they would try again tomorrow. This meant I had to book a hotel for overnight and miss another day of work.

Since then the issue has been escalated to VW technical and now to the factory meaning it will be at least two weeks before the car is ready. I cant help but think this could have all been avoided if SERE had fixed the issue before selling on the car. The fact that it was a safety recall is even more concerning. When I called them looking for assistance with the repairs, they couldn't offer anything.

If you're from the republic looking to buy a car up north I still think its a good idea but I would not recommend SERE.

Purchased an electric Mercedes EQA from here that was due an “A” service. All that seems to have been done was to reset the service indicator on the dashboard. The pollen filter was certainly not changed as it was full of leaves and other dirt when I checked it when I got home. My salesperson informed me that the service manager said it didn’t need to be changed but won’t provide an invoice for the “A” service despite being requested to do so. I don’t know how they’d know it didn’t need to be changed because if they had checked it would not have been so dirty with dried up leaves and plastic. This is a part that would have cost them £20 approximately and less than 5 minutes to change so it triggers my alarms when corners like this are cut. They also did not replace the wiper blades despite the indicator sticker clearly showing they needed to be replaced, again maybe £30 cost. So what did they actually do to prepare the car? Also despite paying full price for the car on the basis of 4 non Chinese branded tyres being put on the car this was reneged upon too and I ended up paying an extra £200 on top for decent quality Oem tyres to be fitted. I also had to have the car tracked as it was pulling to the left. I certainly would not recommend a garage that cuts corners and backtracks like this. I now have to pay €325 for the peace of mind of getting a “A” service carried out to ensure the car is right as I do not trust that this garage did anything to prepare the car correctly. Engaging with the garage to rectify the service issue was a complete waste of my time. It’s very frustrating when you place your trust and money in the hands of a business like this and this is how you end up being treated. Once they have your money you can expect zero from Sere.

Terrible customer service!
SERE Belfast agents were very keen to help and assist me when I was looking to purchase a new car. Once the deal was done, their interest began to wain. Sale took longer than initially advised - no big deal!

Jump forward 4 months - winter hits and the heating isn’t working - car freezing and won’t defrost. Just out of warranty.

Visited SERE - once they realised I had a complaint I was ushered into a back room with a manager - felt a little intimidating! Told me they had no responsibility.

Manufacturer advised me that SERE have duty of care and that it is presumed the problem pre existed. Wrote to SERE - and the owner, phoned them, intermediaries tried to contact them - all numerous times. They would say that they would look into it and then never replied.
I spent over £2000 getting the problem fixed.
Still waiting for them to reply!

Avoid at all costs! Buying privately - sold as seen - would be the same level of risk as buying off these guys.

I was very happy with the service at SERE Motors Lisburn mainly because the salesperson Andrew was very pleasant and helpful to us as soon as we arrived. He took us to the section that would suit our budget, was very knowledgeable about the cars and then left us to browse. He helped us with our decision and gave us plenty of time to think it over. Andrew explained all the paperwork and then arranged for a date that suited me to collect the car. The car handover went very smoothly, and Andrew took the time to go through the main functions of the car as I hadn't driven a Volvo before, and had been a while since I drove an automatic. Really appreciated this help. Andrew has also since phoned to see how things are going with our new car, which again is great service. Will definitely consider SERE for purchasing our next car!

I'd recommend SERE Motors Lisburn to a friend because after having a very negative experience with another well known dealership I had an excellent experience with SERE.From my 1st contact with David when I walked into the dealership until the handing over the keys David couldn't have been anymore helpful. He answered all my questions and found out the history of the car and agreed to get me copies of all service work that had been completed to date. He also handed over the keys with the car serviced and valeted to a high standard. Along with the keys he handed me a file with all the service history and information about the car. David also followed up aftercare calls and booked the mot and sent me appropriate documents to attend the appointment. I couldn't speak highly enough of the service provided by David which was much appreciated and would recommend SERE to others as their cars are also well priced. Thank you "
