My experience with Vintage Watch Agency…
My experience with Vintage Watch Agency has been extremely frustrating and has left me questioning the reliability of its website and customer service.
I first contacted the company on September 7, 2026, to inquire about a Cartier watch and international shipping to New York. On September 18, I received an order confirmation for the order, and was charged for a Cartier Santos. Just hours later, the company emailed me to say the watch had already been sold before it was removed from the website.
How does a company accept an order and charge a customer's credit card for a watch that is no longer available?
I tried to resolve the situation professionally by offering to switch to another Cartier model, and asking for a reasonable price adjustment given the import duties and tariffs I would have to pay shipping the watch to the United States. Instead of addressing my specific proposal, I received repeated, generic responses asking me to choose another watch. When I followed up, I was told the alternative I had requested was no longer available either.
I also questioned why the website displays such a large inventory if the watches listed cannot actually be purchased and shipped. The responses did little to reassure me that the inventory information was reliable or that anyone was making a serious effort to fulfill my order.
What made the experience even worse was the handling of the cancellation and refund. After charging my credit card, the company did not provide a prompt, satisfactory resolution, and I had to explicitly demand cancellation and written confirmation of a full refund. Only after I made my position clear did they confirm that the order had been canceled. It took them over a month.
The communication throughout this process was disappointing. I received repetitive emails that did not directly address my questions or proposed solution. I had to keep following up, explain the same concerns repeatedly, and ultimately insist on a refund rather than continue looking at alternatives that might not even be available.
I also have to question whether the company is properly equipped or willing to handle sales to customers in the United States. I cannot say that the problem was specifically related to my location, but the experience certainly left me wondering whether international customers receive the same level of service and attention as local customers.
At this point, Vintage Watch Agency comes across as a website that advertises an extensive selection of watches but cannot reliably confirm that the items are actually available to sell and ship. From a customer's perspective, that undermines confidence in the entire purchasing process.
My recommendation: Be very cautious before placing an order. Confirm the watch is physically available before paying, and be prepared to spend time chasing customer service if something goes wrong. In my experience, the process was unnecessarily frustrating, and I would not choose to shop with this company again.
AVOID BUYING FROM THIS BUSINESS.
