The whole system they have in place is just not geared up for a Sole Trader
Company's you work for their staff can not access your portal for information so you have to send them the information they require
One year I paid near 500.00 for approval which was the standard package I did all the spread sheets myself its a ridiculous amount of money every year for what you get in return
For that year I sent in Rams updates as & when required got a few e-mails one of which said I was invited to join in a webinar given by Tesco's Health & Safety officer ?

As a SSIP-accredited scheme, we must follow specific assessment requirements to ensure our processes remain consistent and impartial. However, we do offer additional support and guidance for contractors with fewer than five employees, including access to templates and access to support from our technical team.
To clarify, SafeContractor clients can access your information through our client portal when searching for approved contractors to work with, helping to connect businesses and create new opportunities
Although only mutual clients can access this portal, your SafeContractor certificate can be used to demonstrate your approval status to any other clients you plan to work with.

First time using the safe contractor portal - it is straightforward to use - but - I still had queries.

This is our second year being certified by SafeContractor. We’ve had a very positive experience, yet again. Rhys Edwards, our Technical Support Officer, and Stuart Thomas, our Health and Safety Auditor, were both incredibly helpful throughout the process. No question was ever too much trouble, and they gave us great support from start to finish.

We only have 1 customer who asks for this, we already have our own H & S supplier and we do not gain any benefit from paying for SC, it just reduces the profit we make from this one customer.

To clarify, our express package guarantees a 2 working day initial response from our technical team for your pre-audit assessment. Unfortunately, with all of our packages, the response time for the full audit assessment to take place is dependable on factors such as staffing levels and how many submissions we receive, meaning that sometimes this response time can take longer than usual.
We understand how important it is that these expectations are communicated clearly, and your feedback will help us continue to improve the experience for our members.

Just awful!
Just awful!! Auto renewal service is a con that we did not sign up to it's hidden in Safecontractor terms and conditions. Have to cancel the renewal 14 days prior to the renewal date or they take the money for doing nothing and even if you do not want to be a member anymore as we do not. Auto renewal without issuing an invoice to inform you. I tried to cancel the membership 9 days before the renewal date, but it was not accepted. Safecontractor charge of £2929.00 +VAT for membership that we no longer require.
Rip off!!
Please stay clear of Safe Contractor!!

For the first time in 10 years of using safe contractor the renewal was on time now that we can submit 60 days in advance rather than the old 30 days and then taking 30 days to review it because we refused to pay the fast track additional cost which riled me so much
