I chose this company because they courier car insurance. They gave me a reasonable quote and I paid the annual premium. The next day, before the policy took effect, they called me to say that they couldn't insure me. I asked about a refund and was told there would be a £60 cancellation fee. As the policy hadn't yet started, how could there be a cancellation fee? They were adamant and so I said that I would contact Trading Standards and also asked for details of their complaints procedure. A few minutes later they called me back to say that I would get a full refund. One positive note was that the refund was paid within a few days.

THE WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!! I have had the worst experience with this awful, vile, unprofessional company!!!! disgusted by their service. i chose RCIB as they where the cheapest on a comparison website and boy do I regret it!

I've changed my vehicle from a Seat Ibiza to an Audi A3, naturally I knew I had to pay an additional charge but they want me to pay an additional £700+ onto of me paying for my premium in full! absolute joke!!!!

at the start they tried to cancel my policy for no reason what so ever and then tried saying i never contacted them in the 7 day period when i was on the phone to them for hours each day. you can never get through to them, they take the MICKEY to answer the phone. ABSOLUTELY fuming with this company! they have tried to charge me extra for my 'millage' which i haven't even done! i could go on days writing about this company and how ridiculously awful it is!!!¬

I chose to go with this company as they appeared to be the cheapest option at the time, and by god, do I regret it.

I have had nothing but problems with them and I'm only 2 months into my policy, unfortunately.

I recently moved home and had to change my home address, for this they charged me an extra £50. Apparently the cost was an 'admin fee' which I think is ridiculous and extremely steep especially when nowadays everything is paperless. I work in admin myself, and I know that the company that I work for like many others, doesn't charge clients money to update their address or any other personal details for that matter. Its just another way this company can make money out of you.

They will take money from your bank without authorisation. I checked my bank one morning and noticed that they took another £68 from my account without me knowing. When I contacted customer services they were rude and unhelpful. The extra £68 was an added cost for my policy as they felt that they had quoted me incorrectly to begin with.

I completed a search via Go Compare and they were the cheapest. Naturally, I chose them and provided them with all of my correct details. I provided them with all of the documents they asked for such as no claims bonus, driving license, DVLA Code etc.

How can they decide to add on extra costs a month into your policy, without informing the policy holder!?

Never in my 11 years of driving have I experienced an insurance company such as these.

At this point I was clearly very unhappy with them so I requested a cancellation quote. They came back to me with an answer saying that I would only be refunded £148 out of a £378 + the £68 they rudely took. They said that they deducted what they felt that I had already used and included a cancellation fee in with the quote!

Honestly, this company would rob your grandma of her last sixpence. Avoid, avoid, AVOID.

I have 10 months left on my policy and after that I certainly will never be going with them again, even if they were offering me £10 for the whole year!

Absolutely shocking
This company qoute you, take your money. Then try to charge you more. If you try to cancel it they slap a load of cancellation fees on you which then you loose out on more. Avoid this company at all costs. Alex in customer services how do you sleep at night working for a robbing company.... probably gets commission on getting more money out of clients.

Or a company they push on you called Close Brothers based in Wimbledon.
I had AGREED to take a motorbike insurance for £320 per yr at £34 over 10 mths.
I later noticed they had stole £109 within days, I wasn't sure what for, then noticed the'yd altered monthy payments to £56 per month. Then I had some paperwork with deliberately very faint, paled out and tiny writing, I had to screen shot, and enlarge, to see they were instructing a third party to rape and pillage almost £700 out of my bank account. I called the up in a panic, they hung up. I called them back, and they hit me with a ton of fees to get out within a month from this scamming, fraudulent company. Pushing over £200 to try and dis engage from this company. In tears I agreed the £202.11 payment, in a bid to rid myself of this anxiety inducing company, and they then duplicated the payment and have taken £202.11 MULTIPLE TIMES from my bank !! I feel suicidal dealing with this company, they WONT STOP RAIDING MY BANK ACCOUNT
Use MCE Only for motorbike insurance.

After reading a few more of your reviews I was the same had a policy with these for 5 months which was over priced and keep putting the price up I then was in a rta which I claimed of the third parties insurance yet they wanted money of me and tried to offer me a ridiculous insurance quote on the same car but a slightly newer model I cancelled my policy with them and was charged over 200 pounds fraudsters the customer service is shocking they speak to you like dirt maybe they need to concentrate on helping there customers and not robbing them left right and Chelsea instead of investing there time and money in to s*** no Mark race car drivers... strongly recommend you to avoid using this company I will also be leaving a review to my 20k plus Twitter followers.... never done business with such a joke and unprofessional company in my entire life
Maybe it’s worth me asking my followers across my social media platforms 50k of them to leave some reviews on trust-pilot and other alike sites as a thank you gesture for all the kind work you did or not

I used a price comparison site to buy car insurance October 2020 I’ve used them before so I trusted that there wouldn’t be any issues these guys (RCIB) popped up with the cheapest quote so I thought why not go with them.. everything seemed fine until i got a call saying my information was incorrect so pay more money i phone up have a chat with a guy explain the situation he says thats all fine pay this amount go back to or old insurance get them to amend it and if they do we will refund the additional expenses that we’re adding at this time. I say fine paid in full (as i like to do) thought nothing of it few weeks later I received a letter/txt& email all stating my insurance is going to be cancelled
I call to discuss this they say pay another sum stating my NCD is less than what they cover i tell them I’ve made all of my information aware when you called with a new quote why was this not mentioned then (at this point they already have a sizeable amount of my money) as soon as i said just cancel my policy I’ll look elsewhere he turns into the rudest person I’ve ever encountered on the phone starts urging with me !!!! I try to move the conversation forward and i ask how much I’m going to be refunded and he starts to say nothing at all - when asked to repeat himself he says he’ll put me through to a different team to arrange the refund and starts another argument i then i ask him at this point to just put me through to this other team as he clearly just wanted a shouting match and i wasnt going to give him the satisfaction he then says he not putting me through to anyone he never said he would at this point I’m in shock and laughing and how ridiculous this behaviour is (very unprofessional) he says he can tell me all this information and then puts me on hold for 27mins half way though waiting i was just thinking to myself he’s hoping i just hang up ....so the next thing he takes it of hold and says nothing for a couple minutes then start telling me I’ll get roughly 2/3 back i ask for a break down (the charges didn’t add up to the amount soo wheres the rest ) ..at this point they have my money and after reading all these negative reviews I’m not sure I will receive a refund we’ll see in 5-7 working days i guess

Bought a car insurance policy at 09.30am, sent confirmation email, they took the money. Then sent a text documents been sent to you. They hadnt so I called. Then sent a cancellation confirmation no reason. Called passed to 4 people as consistently told you need to speak to the "validation team." On hold for 25 minutes and counting from the last 'transfer'. Sent an email to please help, nothing.

This company is a joke. People beware and please keep away. I’ve sent my documents to them on a number of occasions and they keep sending me messages to say they haven’t received the documents and they will cancel my policy. They have threatened to keep my deposit and I have already paid them one month insurance aswell. We have gone on their portal and posted the documents. When I’ve looked at their reviews they’ve done it to a lot of people. I will let people know on Facebook book, Instagram and other social media outlets about this company. They are thieves. If they cancel my policy I will take them to small claims court to get all my money back. I am also going to let the ombudsman know about this.

Shocking. Rude customer service after I've been waiting 5 weeks for a refund during a time when money is needed.
That's after insuring with RCIB last year, paying, then discovering one month into the policy that they hadn't finished the paperwork their end leaving me uninsured. Glad I didn't have a crash in that month because they would've washed their hands of me.
They're cheap because they're incompetent.

They entice you in with the cheapest quote and then have tell you they will call to validate? God knows what that was about! After ringing then non stop for 2 weeks and sending far too many emails I finally speak to someone who said they couldn’t validate the insurance as it wasn’t their job and put me on hold for 30mins! Finally got to talk to someone else who said my mileage was inaccurate and they were going to charge me more £120! And then said I didn’t declare my accidents from 4+years ago, which I had!
After telling them just to cancel the lot as my policy hadn’t even started yet, they tried to charge me £70 and then wanted to charge me another £75 for a startup fee!! WTH
I hadn’t even started the policy yet, they hadn’t even validated it but they were quick to take my money before supposedly validating. Needless to say, AVOID THIS COMPANY. They will give you nothing but stress and sleepless nights.

Just renewed my policy for a competitive price. Staff were polite and friendly. Great service would definitely recommend.

Terrible from the start.
I had a very reasonable quote from them and signed up a few months back and paid the full amount in one go. Thinking everything was fine I get a call from them claiming that my mileage should be way higher and telling me that I had to pay more (around £125 more). I explained to them that my mileage was higher the year before because i worked in a different city the previous year and also had to take my TERMINAL mother to hospital appointments.
This insurance company wouldn't budge and insisted I had to pay more.
A few months later and not really using the car (since as stated I dont work in another city anymore).... I decided to let the car go and just called this insurance company to cancel my insurance.
I was told there would be a £60 cancellation fee which I expected would probably be the case and deducted from the chunk that I paid....but told that they also keep 100% of the insurance money
!!!! So I have to pay them more money or just keep the insurance for the car I no longer have...

MOST INSURANCE COMPANIES DONT DO THIS!

They lure you in with the cheapest price on the comparison sites, then screw you over!

Rip Off, they take your money, then after 2 weeks, thay say their going to cancel your insurance if you don't pay extra, I had to pay an extra £179 but I had put the correct information in my online quote. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with.

Appear professional and ask you to upload requested documents - which I did then continue to ask to upload these and threaten to cancel your insurance!

Emailed - no reply, called and on hold for an hour and still couldn’t get to speak to anyone

Avoid avoid avoid

Answer your call straight away when you are buying from them but try to get them to answer when you need them just on hold for ever
