I am very keen to avoid the plastic one-use cartridges so I purchased the glass jug as I don't like using plastic ones. It is rather heavy, especially when full of water and the way it's constructed makes it seem top-heavy. Using it feels as if it's going to fall apart (it doesn't, but it's an unnerving feeling). I also have rather small hands, so it's quite difficult to unscrew the lid from the glass bottom. Difficult but not impossible. I doubt it will win any awards for design, but it may do for "saving the planet".
