Petstock putting dogs lives at risk with not honouring prescription food
Yesterday I ordered for same day delivery a prescription food Hills UD. For a dog that can process proteins so substitutes are NOT an option.
1st started to purchase a bag of 12.5 kg food for sane day delivery at $260 (robbery ) profiting from sick Pets. Then at checkout asking if I wanted auto delivery (yes as we had just moved and a bag for $238 was cheaper.)
Then to no be able to proceed because I can’t do both (same day delivery & subscription for repeat order)
Then rang store to ask them to hold the bag I was told they had in store until I sorted this out with customer service.
Apparently according to CS this store had not had any in stock since December. That another store Keperra in brisbane was the only one with stock.
Rang Keperrra to see how o could get this bag
As I run a dog rescue and coukd not leave the property. It was offered by a lovely girl to deliver and I would pay her fuel. Petstock manager would not allow this despite knowing the dog now had no dinner or breakfast and it would be days before we could get it delivered. Sorry is all they could say. Sorry I was lied to twice

Absolutely con this company
Putting dogs at jeopardy of illness selling prescription food but not making it priority. I might add selling at the highest prices profiting from people’s ill pets (why they are prescribed food) as if the vet’s bills arnt enough.
Do not support or use this company
They lie and have no care about your pet or the health they put at risk
3 hours trying to sort a bag of food so my boy could have dinner.
There were no other alternatives but to wait for a delivery (days)
Don’t offer sane day delivery if you can’t honour it Petstock.
Don’t lie trying to keep the business thus my boy now on rice for dinner.
Any vet bills acquired from this will be forwarded to Petstock and I suggest anyone with prescription food choose other company’s.
Don’t sell life saving food if you can’t honour the demand for it.

The worst service and greeting you’d want walking into their store with your pup. The team were disorganised, cold and really couldn’t be bothered helping. Vic was the person that served me unfortunately she seems liked she be better off taking a day off. The person with purple hair was rude and condescending and when asked a question didn’t care.
Our main enquiry was puppy school however after this brief encounter I wouldn’t confidently take any advice from a this bunch of mishaps.

Adopted a kitten through Petstock – left with $2000+ vet bills and no support
I adopted a kitten through Petstock’s rescue partnership with Rocky Roads Rescue and had a very disappointing experience.
From day one, the kitten had persistent diarrhoea. I raised concerns early, but over the following two weeks the condition worsened and ultimately required hospitalisation. I incurred approximately $2,000–$3,000 in veterinary expenses, medications, and specialised diets. PCR testing later confirmed parasites (Cystoisospora and Cryptosporidium), which are commonly seen in rescue environments and require specific treatment.
I escalated this to Petstock and spoke with a regional manager (Brendan), who initially advised the matter would be reviewed. However, I was later told Petstock would not take any responsibility and that I should deal directly with the rescue.
During the call, it was clear that Petstock fully supported the rescue’s handling of the situation. I was also told he was “highly satisfied” with the rescue’s communication, despite my experience being limited to repeated advice to continue Pro-Kolin without further guidance.
The only outcome offered was a $50 voucher, which does not reflect the seriousness of the situation or the financial impact.EVEN A REFUND OF THE ADOPTION FEE WOULD HAVE BEEN A MORE APPROPRIATE AND FAIR RESPONSE. Even now, there has been no clear communication on how or when this voucher would be provided, and there has been no further follow-up.
I chose to adopt through Petstock because I trusted their partnerships would provide oversight and support. Unfortunately, this experience showed that when issues arise, adopters are left to manage the situation on their own.
Disappointed groom
I recently took my long-haired dog to
Pet stock Country NSW for grooming, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. I clearly explained that I wanted to keep his hair long, especially on the face, and specifically asked not to trim his facial hair.
Despite this, my dog’s face was cut, and the trim was uneven — completely contrary to the instructions I gave. It’s clear that there was a serious miscommunication, and the groomer did not follow my directions.
Thankfully, my dog wasn’t hurt, but the result was very frustrating. Grooming services should carefully listen to owners’ instructions, especially when it comes to styles or hair length, and ensure proper communication throughout. I hope Petstock country NSW improves in this area so other pet owners don’t have a similar experience.

I have been dealing with Petstock in Carrum Downs in both their retail and vet areas now for over 17 years.
I have been a frequent flyer there with my beautiful Rag Doll cat (Ande) for all those years.
It was with great sadness that I lost Ande to health issues in the past few days. It is absolutely devastating.
I have just received a lovely condolences card and flowers from their Carrum Downs facility. Thank you so much for your thoughts and kindness.
Their vets and all of their support staff have been sensational for all of those years. They have allowed Ande to have a long healthy life.

Don't expect delivery instructions to be on the address label
Product fine but the delivery instructions provided on order were not transferred to the address label. This meant the instruction for the courier to not enter the property were not there resulting in our almost loosing our recently rescued dog. When raised with company they advised sometimes dispatch transfer details, sometimes not.
PRICE MATCH What a FARCE PETSTOCK
NO STARS if I could .. hopeless ..they say they do price matching .. not true .. I went into the store to purchase 2 boxes of Big Dog raw and asked them as I've done it before .. they said they do but they now have to add shipping .. I was perplexed .. anyway the staff member went to the register to do some checking and then came back and proceeded to tell me the cost .. Now the product retails for $27.99 ..I had an online price match of $25.19 .. he told me that it will cost me $30.99 to purchase .. I said what the?? he said because it's a click and collect he has to add shipping .. I said NO that's not price matching and I just walked into the store .. but how does walking into a store mean you have to add delivery charge???? I said no thank you and walked out ... ended up at Petbarn who were happy to do the price matching .. and I got my product for $25.19. You're going to lose customers. PETstock you're hopeless !
The rude server
The server did not engage in conversation and was rude, I in the many years of buying from petstock Batemans Bay have never experienced a worker like this , I had to tell him it was the wrong item and was not happy at all, I will never have him serve me again ,

If you want to make the staff at petstock do their job and your tired of the useless staff rude staff and all the other bits I've read on this page send your emails to head office of Woolworths they own 55% and we all know how Woolworths treats their staff

TO add insult to injury
I went to Petstock Robina to buy quality dry food for my dogs… these are part of our family.
They were promoting a 20 kg, Australian brand so I chose that along with treats in the same product.
The gentleman’s service was excellent…That’s where it ended.
1. The product was like recycled cardboard, with no protein smell at all…Our 3 dogs wouldn’t look at it…and one is a Labrador. A literal food vacuum.
2. A few weeks later, I returned the product and was astonished by the reception… The obvious senior attendant was on defence immediately…All I said was, ‘I want to return or exchange dog’…to which, with her hands in the air, she continued, ‘dog food which is rubbish’… She had obviously been thru the procedure often before during that period.
3. She said she would refund the product if it was NOT opened… Me, ‘How do I know it’s rubbish if I don’t open it?’ To which she replied, with an arrogant smirk, ‘it does NOT come with a palatable guarantee! That is our policy’…
I asked if all of their products have a palatable guarantee? I suggested an inquiry into pet food quality…Still no response…and no refund.
I am left with $70+ rubbish to dump, plus the effort involved.
4.To add insult to injury there was still half the full pallet on sale behind me…even though they are aware of is quality.

Better to go with Petbarn, they will deliver within 2 hours unlike Petstock where you can expect delivery...who freaking knows!!!

I recently took an injured parrot I found on the road to Petstock in Butler, hoping they could help care for it. Unfortunately, when I returned to check on the bird’s welfare, I was treated very rudely by the staff. They refused to provide any information about the bird’s condition, which was quite disappointing. I hope they improve their customer service and communication in the future.

They are not clear on postage - be very careful - not all postage is free over the stated amount - check the small print. Caught me out and they refuse to refund it.

The culture at this company is disgusting and I refuse to shop there based on the gross behaviour amongst the staff.
Outrageous and misleading grooming prices
The pricing for grooming services is very misleading. On the website it is structured by weight of dog and service selected but when I took my medium dog in they charged the giant dog rate. When making the booking over the phone the groomer made no mention of a different price. My dog’s groom costs $120 at her regular groomer but at Petstock Rolleston cost $223 with the potential to be up to $283 if she was “difficult”. What’s even worse is when I got her home I noticed that the fur around her bottom wasn’t even properly clean!
SICK PUP wrong diagnosis.
I took my 10mth American bulldog puppy to Petstock Vet Hoppers Crossing June 2025. Diagnosed a mild case kennel cough, given cough mixture, paid $155. Called twice first call puppy not taking elixir told can have tablet cost $50, second call puppy getting worse, told bring back in, puppy too sick running temperature, suffering badly lethargic. Called mobile vet to home diagnosis not kennel cough, pneumonia straight away injection, and a weeks worth antibiotics, now quietly recovering. I am not happy with Petstock Vet duty of care or advice, I should be fully refunded, I could have loss my little pup no thanks to wrong diagnosis.
