These and evans halshaw are in bed with each and make millions each by robbing people. Just look at all the reviews both companies have had relating to guarantees time for customers and trading standards to do something about these awful organisations..
Avoid these cowboys at all costs
Avoid these cowboys at all costs, once you've paid for the car you're on your own . . .
AVOID by all means
AVOID.. AVOID.. AVOID… liars…They said the clutch is covered on the guarantee, I’ve only had the car for under 2 years and they’re saying it is not covered because it’s worn out. One minute the car was driving fine no signs of the clutch going and the next minute it stopped working, just after in less than 24 hours of passing MOtT and full service. After reading the reviews I already knew they were going to decline as everyone kept saying they will blame the customer/driver first. Apart from avoiding phone calls the last lady I spoke to was very rude.
Made up rules to decline a claim
I wish I had checked here before purchase.
My part is covered and has failed for a reason other than wear and tear. Complaints begin and end with Paul Duffin who simply made up a rule that isn't in the policy wording "we don't cover software updates".
Sorry Paul, that's not how contract law works. I'll be going to small claims court. It only costs £35 to do so I suggest the rest of you do the same. If it comes to that I'll have to claim that the product was mis-sold too.
Feel free to find a point within the contract to decline my claim but as we both know after 2 months of communication from November to January, you can't.
Avoid.
Avoid Pendragon’s Extended Guarantee /…
I have an update now, after 6 months they have decided to pay for the repair but it was not a long hassle but also they only paid %60. Happier now but it ahould have been sorted long ago.
Pendragon’s Extended Guarantee / Evans Halshaw Guarantee
I had an issue with EGR cooler which was replaced by an Audi Approved Garage and I informed them in advance.
According to the documentation, the EGR Cooler is covered under the extended warranty. However, Pendragon refused my claim, dismissing it as "wear and tear" without even inspecting the fault. I provided all the necessary paperwork, yet they kept finding excuses to say no.
When I asked for clarification on what specific EGR Cooler faults are covered under the warranty, they simply ignored me and stated -this is the Guarantee not Warranty? Now, I have no choice but to escalate the issue to the Ombudsman.
I am surprised that Evan Halshaw (Car Sale) markets this "Guarantee" as I had good experience with them, unlike (EHG or Pendragon, I assume part of them?).
Not compliant with legislation
Subject: Pendragon’s Warranty Practices and Non-Compliance with MV-BEO
I am extremely disappointed with Pendragon’s handling of my warranty claim and their apparent disregard for the Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Order (MV-BEO) regulations.
My warranty claim was rejected because the service on my vehicle was carried out by a non-VAT-registered garage, despite the fact that the service adhered fully to the manufacturer’s recommended guidelines. Under the MV-BEO, this restriction is unlawful, as it unfairly limits consumer choice and imposes conditions that are not compliant with the regulation. This legalisation was introduced in 2023 and is in place until 2029, all companies that fell under the rules surrounding it were told to familiarise themselves with the policy. Pendragon have clearly failed to do that.
I have now reported this issue to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) for investigation. If the CMA finds that Pendragon has breached competition law, the consequences could be severe, including:
• Significant fines of up to 10% of the company’s annual global turnover.
• Mandatory compliance orders requiring changes to Pendragon’s practices.
• Public enforcement actions, which could damage the company’s reputation and credibility with consumers.
Pendragon’s refusal to honour my warranty under lawful conditions is unacceptable and reflects poorly on their commitment to fairness and customer care. I urge them to address this issue and align their policies with the MV-BEO to avoid further repercussions and restore consumer confidence.
What worries me is how many people I’m reading about that have been financially affected by this, they should and need to be held accountable.
I would strongly advise other customers to be cautious and aware of their rights under the MV-BEO when dealing with Pendragon’s warranty terms.
Stratstone Stockton
Stratstone Stockton - Zero responses to 25 emails and still with issues on a low mileage car that was meant to have been repaired, I get the automated responses to reviews and then nothing in response to the email address given.. Watch it will happen again when I publish this. Laughable. Been ongoing over a year!! Michael, Michael, Adam, Robert. Answer my emails and deal with the issue you have not repaired.

The Premium Guarantee is not worth the paper it's written on. My faulty clutch took two weeks to fix after which they would not pay for the hire car as the total repair time was less than 2 hours, although they were responsible for much of the delay as they wanted to approve each part of the repair before work could take place requiring a total of three approvals for the repair.
They only also only covered a small part of the labour costs leaving me to pay for most of that. I think the labour costs may have been covered if it went to one of the group garages but as when the car was recovered by the RAC all the local pendragon garages said it would be at least 4 weeks until they would even look at it and also they refused to allow the RAC to recover my car to their premises until 2 days before it was booked in I had to use another dealer.
Awful customer care
Awful customer care , no apologies, don’t seem to get a lot for your money, definitely don’t care , don’t answer phone , don’t reply to email …
Avoid - simple as that
Just read all the other reviews, even I am shocked at the negative reviews. I absolutely agree with what has been articulated here, and mirrors my own experience. Approved used BMW from Stratstone Tyneside, looked like a car straight from auction and not even prepared! Made a complaint, have heard nothing back, and judging by reviews not likely to, will highlight this to BMW UK as this is not good for BMW reputation
Avoid like the plague
Trying to get anywhere with Evans Halshaw and Pendragon is nearly impossible. We currently have a car broken down on our driveway and can't get it picked up to be fixed...two complaints to Pendragon and still no reply. Avoid Avoid Avoid
Avoid this warranty company
After having a car 3 months the spring and top mount went. Experience with the warranty people was awful. They ignored my job request all week and when I had the work done they said they wouldn't pay for it as I had it done ‘before they authorised it’. Even though they ignored my several attempts to contact them throughout the week.
Do not bother taking out warranty with this company. They are absolutely shocking.
I wouldn’t bother
I had purchased a car from Evans Halshaw including the ‘Premium’ warranty package which lasted two years. I have had the car around 17 months and the catalytic converter needs replacing which costs over £500. I was told earlier in the year when the problem arose that I wouldn’t be covered for it. My car is at 70,140 miles and they have came back saying the catalytic converter is only covered up to 70,000 miles. Aside of the deception from Evans Halshaw, it seems distasteful to penalise a customer paying a large sum of money for their product over the sake of 140 miles even though it had been brought to their attention well before this. I could only afford a clean of the converter to see if this solved the issue but evidently it hasn’t.

Cannot understand why Pendragon have a complaint department when they don't try to resolve any problems do not purchase a car from evanhalshaws as problems don't get resolved go to a back street garage you will get better service
Avoid like a plague!
On 23 November 2023, I bought an Audi Q7 from BMW Doncaster. The whole experience has been farcical. They took the deposit, then spent over a week preparing the car and listed it for sale again whilst I was chasing to collect the car. After agreeing to pick me up from the train station, I was left waiting in the rain for 50minutes ( the dealership is 2 miles away from the train station).
I finally collected thr car and....it lost all its coolant in 3 weeks and less than 800 miles from the date of collection. There is a very strong smell of coolant after the car has been driven. I also noticed a judder on cold engine which I reported to BMW. In addition, the cameras are tempermental and sometimes don't work.
The car has been with Audi in Doncaster since December and I was advised today by BMW that they "can't fault the car" and I need to collect it.
I have asked what diagnostics have been carried out and I am currently awaiting a call back from the service manager. I have already indicated my intention to reject the car, in accordance with the SOGA.
I subsequently received a call from a manager asking to remove the nefative review so that they could look at the car again.
Unsurprisingly, after actually looking at the car they discovered the leak!
Weeks later I was advised that they are still waiting for the warranty company to authorise the repairs. I have pointed out that it's the dealer that should be paying for the repairs and not the warranty company. I spent over 1200 on the warranty abd it was for my benefit, not theirs. The law is clear in that it's deemed that the car was faults at the time of sale so stratstone should be paying for the repairs. Unsurprisingly, I have not heard back from stratstone.
I only had my car for 3 weeks and it has been back with stratstone for 8 weeks now!!!

I'm not happy at all with response regarding my problems on my car that after less than 6000 miles since purchase they do not cover and I'm now another @£900 out of pocket with nothing been covered with the warrenty I purchased
PLEASE EVERYONE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE PURCHASING I WILL NEVER USE THESE AGAIN it as also put me off ever purchasing a warrenty again
Evans Halshaw (Banbury) Do not sell your car to them!
I sold my car to this cowboy firm definitely not professionals! Got an online price and we agreed on a price at the garage after visual inspection, the deal was done and I only had to look forward to receiving my money because they do a BACS payment which takes three days. After five working days had passed I emailed and called the garage to find out what was happening and the following day after a whole 8 days after selling my car they said we’re sorry but we’re not buying your car! and I was able to come and pick it up. Reason they wasn’t happy was due to where it was purchased from. I went the same day and picked my car up in the evening next day I noticed a dent on the side panel, I immediately emailed them not only was my time wasted but they left a dent on the car. No email or reply by them to repair the damage. Anyone looking to sell their car find alternative company or better to sell at a reduced price privately.
After travelling and paid some £19,000…
After travelling and paid some £19,000 to take delivery of a vehicle, I was told No one had bothered to MOT vehicle and indeed Evans Halshaw, unbeknown to Me at the time let Me test drive a vehicle without a legal MOT on the road. . .
I have been offered a mere £250 to respond within 7 days of a handwritten piece of paper, dated 19th December . . . Is this acceptable ??
Pendragon MPL - Head office to Evans Halshaw Vauxhall Wakefield
I sold a car to the Evans Halshaw, Vauxhall Wakefield site on the 18th of November. The confirmed settlement of the HPI loan for the vehicle would be made first, then payment of the balance to me by Wednesday or Thursday of this week. No money has been paid as of today the 24th and the loan is also not settled. They keep telling me the issue is with head office, Pentagon management. I called Pentagon management to make a complaint this morning, each time I got through they hung up, I dialed the number 10 times. The sales consultant at Evans Halshaw, Jack Yearly doesn't respond to my emails. They are simply not interested because this was a sale and not a purchase from them. Dreadful service and I would strongly recommend avoiding the Wakefield branch at all cost. As for Pendragon, in the latest email they blamed the branch, but the branch has confirmed that they can not process the payment until the vehicle is process on the Pendragon system. They all tell lies and can not be trusted.
Shocking service and rip off kings
