A very distressing experience.
Palmer Snell Yeovil states that ‘This branch and the business is committed to making the services they offer accessible to all customers.' This is not my experience. I asked Charlie to email me the terms and conditions so I could enlarge them on my computer. Promised to 'send something when I get home', but he did not. I also said I would find it difficult to upload my ID documents to an app. No help was offered. I got the impression he regarded me as a nuisance and had decided to ignore me. A very distressing experience.

Very Disappointed with Palmer'snell Letting Agency – 147 Queensway, Taunton
I am extremely disappointed with the service we received from Palmer'snell regarding our tenancy at 147 Queensway, Taunton
For months, our maintenance issues were not properly addressed. The main door was broken for around eight months. The kitchen ceiling light stopped working, and we were left in the dark for days without replacement. Eventually, we had to fix some issues ourselves. The bathroom exhaust fan was not working properly, and there were electrical sparks, which we reported as a serious safety concern. The team came to inspect but never repaired or replaced anything. We felt unsafe during this time.
Despite repeatedly emailing and speaking to the team (Thomas, JayJay, and Allis), our concerns were never properly resolved. We were told they would request reports from the maintenance team, but these were never provided.
We informed them nearly two months in advance that we would be moving out at the beginning of January. We vacated the property on 29th December, but they refused to accept the keys at that time and only took them on 5th January. They are now deducting over £200 from our deposit for that additional week, which we find unfair.
In addition to this, they have made significant deductions from our deposit — whole the deposit and additionally charged £798 for re let fee — even though many maintenance issues were unresolved during our tenancy. We feel that our concerns were ignored while the landlord’s interests were fully protected.
Overall, our experience was extremely frustrating and stressful. We do not recommend Palmer'snell letting agency, as we did not feel supported as tenants and our safety concerns were not properly addressed.
Would definitely recommend Palmer Snell Wells/Shepton Mallet
In September 2025 my purchase of a house was completed. I bought the house through Palmer Snell, the Wells/Shepton Mallet branch. The staff there - Carole, Abbie and Madison - were brilliant! They were not only lovely, friendly and approachable but also kept chasing the other estate agents involved and the various solicitors constantly to get the sale completed as quickly as possible. They were also very supportive when my first sale fell through. Luckily I had a buyer 2 days later. They were then so helpful in getting things finalised and insuring that I could still purchase this house, which has turned out to be such a lovely place to live.

If you have a property to rent and are looking which letting agent to use- AVOID Palmer Snell. We have just got (what's left) of our property after being rented for over 2 years with Palmer Snell. In that time they let the property degrade to an extent that the deposit will go nowhere near to fix the damage. 4 inspection reports were done - all very brief (4 words for one of them!). Very few photos and none addressing the big issues. In the 1st 6 months most of the garden panels were destroyed and removed by the tenants. This was never picked up on (even with the lone fence post in the middle of the garden being quite a big clue). rats had got in but the major floor damage *and urine smell) was not picked up on. If you have a property to rent, ignore all the lovely words Palmer Snell will say about what they will do and go with, ideally, a local letting agency.

Ummm??? Where do I start? This company is not to be trusted!!! After Palmer Snell Yeovil joined forces with Connells Estate Agency all I can say is ...?
what a mess?!". It's a very long upsetting story that happened to me. I was targeted because I was vulnerable and the then Letting agents Manager "MR JAMIE GRIERSON" leased the house to me through PALMER SNELL ESTATE AGENTS, @YEOVIL high street in Somerset UK. Illegally and I am pretty sure he kept the prophets before disappearing under a dark cloud before they could discover what he had been up to???? Palmer Snell cost me my home and all of my contents ie?: furniture, curtains, personal deseaaed family pictures and all of my belongings. I entered the property with furniture galore and left the property 3 years later with zero furniture ( all of my 54 yrs worth of belongings too mauldy to take) . I walked away with my dog and a few of my clothes and that was it!!!! Then I am accused of being a squatter??? They claim a disabled person of 54 year of age and a grandparent of 3 had broken Into the property and had squatted for nearly 4 years without paying rent or a deposit and first months rent. Thank god I kept my tenancy agreement ( proof of payment of deposit and first months rent!). Please don't use this company.

I am absolutely disgusted by this estate agents. They advertised our property without permission from us, we were going to rent a property and they were is meant to just look at the property to give us an idea for what we could rent this for. Instead they put this property on the Market without talking to us. When I asked them to remove the property, there words to us were that this was not there problem. I would never use this company, they talk to you like poo and laugh at you when you are trying to talk to them. This is a disgusting company and behaviour.

We placed a house to be sold with Parker Snell Bournemouth. After the initial flurry to sign us it was noticed that they had not advertised our house to the market and we were told that this was due to illness. A buyer did come forward, however Parmer Snell were not proactive in any way and the sale fell through.
We found Parmer Snell misleading and did not provide truthful information.
Someone else in the same road who also put their house on the market has also commented that they are ‘useless’
We recommend using a Family run agency. We used Hearns in Bournemouth who were outstanding. They were continually proactive throughout and achieved a sale of our property.
Use Parmer Snell at your peril.

I received great service from the moment I walked into the Taunton branch. The contract to let was clear and personalised to my requirements. Alice and Jay Jay kept me informed almost daily and they work really well as a team. This has been the best letting service I have ever received. Highly recommend.

Terrible service. My heavily pregnant daughter was going to rent a property only to find out the owner is selling in 6 months. They knew but didn't tell her until the day she went to get the keys. Quite shocked they failed to disclose such important information.

End to end a bad experience
We are renting an apartment through Palmer Snell and it has been very difficult to navigate the administration. Their portals for completing the initial admin don't work. If you ask them for help to get around the issues they create they are curt and come back with brief and unhelpful answers. It feels like they are being duplicitous. Either they don't know the answers themselves when they should, or in other instances they do but don't want to tell you because it makes them look bad or they are actually doing something wrong. They come across as untrustworthy and certainly living here has been a challenging, stressful and unpleasant experience. They don't drive essential admin like snag lists. We don't know how to turn on the heat. There is no love in their process. Only coldness and curtness. I would never choose to live in a home managed by them again.
