They claim to be a leader in debt collection and resolution but they represent clients who lie and think they can bully people into handing over money. Opos are now just as complicit as their counterparts, after sending them evidence of their clients wrong doings they are either very desperate for money or nobody at opos has a brain cell between them. I have told them from day one that if they are so sure I owe money, then just take me to court where a judge who will definitely have a brain cell can put this to bed once and for all. But they won’t, all they want to do is harass and try to bully me. Their client has even offered stupid reductions to just try grab any penny out of me, which I wholly refuse to entertain one bit. This is a message to opos and your client. This is the same thing I have been saying for the last six months. I cannot wait to see you in court and show the judge and everyone what an absolute laughing stock you are. You think you’re a big bully and can get your way around with people. Not with me, once my proceedings are over, I will directly post evidence to show the incompetence of Opos and their disgrace of a client.
UPDATE*- I spoke to a nice woman called Catherine who works for Opos. Finally after months and months of going back and forth it seems like I might actually be getting somewhere and opos finally seem to be “working” with me and not against me like every single one of their other agents I have dealt with. I made it very clear what I wanted, the same way I did right from the beginning. She helped me achieve that. I wish I could say the same for the rest of opos but I can’t, so my rating is staying a 1 star.

This company started hounding me last year for a debt which had nothing to do with me. Initially, contact was by text message, often at odd hours. When I moved, I received a letter from them which wrongly asserted I was in debt to a financial institution I’ve never had a relationship with and offering a discount on the outstanding amount. I had previously replied to them by text telling them to prove I was the debtor (which of course they couldn’t do) and then, when they carried on, responded to their letter with an email telling them to cease contacting me on pain of being reported to the regulators. Only then did they stop.
I was able to stand up to this firm (but more vulnerable people might have taken fright) and would ask anyone who has likewise been wrongly pursued to do the same. Insist that OPOS provide unambiguous proof linking you to debt they have bought. If they ignore your demand and persist in contacting you, tell them you will report their conduct to the Financial Ombudsman.

Absolutely disgraceful company. OPOS have been relentlessly hounding me over a credit card debt that is currently under ACTIVE investigation by the Financial Ombudsman Service for money not owed by me. I have told them this clearly, in writing and by phone, no fewer than seven times. They simply do not care and keep contacting me anyway.
This is not just bad customer service. Continuing to chase a debt that is formally under FOS investigation is a serious breach of FCA conduct rules. OPOS are FCA-regulated and know exactly what they are doing.
I would also urge anyone reading their Trustpilot page to look carefully. The reviews there follow a suspiciously uniform pattern. Glowing 5-star praise for named agents, formulaic wording, posted at high volume. Multiple genuine reviewers on that same platform have publicly flagged them as fake and please use common sense - who gives 5*'s to someone hounding you for money??!!!
I HAVE reported this to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and the FCA. Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, commissioning or publishing fake reviews is now explicitly illegal in the UK, and the CMA has active enforcement powers including fines of up to 10% of global turnover.
If you are being chased by OPOS for an old or disputed debt, know your rights. Check whether the debt is statute-barred. If it is in dispute or under investigation, tell them in writing and keep a record. Report any harassment to the FCA and the Financial Ombudsman.
OPOS — you have been reported. Sort yourselves out.
UPDATE:
OPOS replied to this review with a boilerplate template about "taking complaints seriously."
Note carefully what their response does NOT say: They do not deny continuing to contact me while my case is under active Financial Ombudsman investigation. They do not deny the concerns raised about the authenticity of their reviews. They simply say reviews are "subject to platform policies." That is not a denial.
They then invited me to contact their Complaints Team privately. Think about that for a moment. I have posted a public review explaining that this company will not stop contacting me, and their immediate instinct is to ask me to hand over my contact details again. On a public forum. To a debt collector. That tells you everything you need to know about how they operate.
I will not be funnelled into a private channel. This matter is with the Financial Ombudsman Service and the FCA. The correct response from a genuinely compliant company would have been simple: "We have immediately placed a contact hold on your account pending the FOS outcome." They didn't say that. They sent a template and asked for my phone number. Draw your own conclusions.
