I had a positive experience applying for nhs professionals, the assessment day and interview, was very straight forward and I git updates on every stage through the day, the staff carrying this out was very friendly and helpful which made me feel at ease during the assessment and interview, my recruiter Fiona Foster as been amazing from the very start ringing the day after I applied to offer me a interview to having daily updates and making sign up and document uploads as straight forward as can be, her friendly personality made me feel comfortable in asking any questions I had and replied very quickly making my recruitment quick, easy and straight forward.

Applied for a Trainee Support Worker Health Care Assistant position through indeed. Had an initial telephone interview with Christine Burke at NHS professionals. She was great through the whole process and made me feel very relaxed while asking me questions, also giving me great information about what to expect next and put me forward for a face to face interview and assessment day.

Unfortunately due to my own circumstances I decided that now was not the right time for me to go ahead, but it gave me great knowledge and comfort in knowing what to expect next time and the process as I hope to apply again in the future.

I had a great experience registering for NHS Professionals. The process was smooth, well organised, and I was kept up to date throughout. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the team, and having a point of contact whom I could talk to should I need it was invaluable. I would highly recommend.

Whole process was easy and good 😊

I went to Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital in Margate Kent.

Was taken in by ambulance. Once at hospital over 10 1/2 hours till I was able to leave. 2 hrs wait for bloods & ECG. Another over 4 hrs to see dr. Another 2 hours for x-ray & bloods. Another over 2 hours to see dr again.

Staff was supportive to ensure that update and information is given timely

I have been hired via Nhsp in multiple roles in NHS. All the staff are helpful specially- Lauren Davies has always been so quick with all the job role updates, it has been very helpful.

I worked for this NHS Trust via an agency over the summer and unfortunately had a very negative experience.

Initially, the rules were clear and reasonable: staff doing phone-based or remote work could work from home on a rotating basis, while IT engineers were required to be onsite. That was fine. However, after a rule change and the arrival of new management, the working environment deteriorated significantly.

A newly hired manager, despite being highly experienced on paper, appeared disengaged and unprofessional. I frequently observed behaviour that raised concerns about fairness, productivity, and professionalism in the office.

More concerning was the conduct of an IT team lead, who showed a consistent lack of trust toward staff. On one occasion, he confronted me asking what I had done that day. I explained that all work was logged in the IT system and could be verified there. I felt this interaction was disrespectful and undermining. Shortly after, I observed the same individual spending significant time away from work duties, which highlighted a double standard.

This team lead also displayed controlling behaviour that went beyond established processes, assigning tasks arbitrarily despite staff being expected to manage their own workloads. I also felt uncomfortable with how closely staff movements were monitored, while similar scrutiny did not appear to apply to management.

There were additional issues around basic organisation, such as vehicle key access, which created unnecessary conflict and confusion within the team.

After raising concerns through the appropriate internal channels, I received a brief response stating someone would follow up. No meaningful resolution occurred. Instead, shortly after, I was abruptly dismissed without a clear explanation. I was asked to return my ID and work equipment mid-shift, without prior warning or a proper discussion.

The reason later given for termination — that my CV did not align with an engineering role — was confusing, as this had been known from the start and I had completed all assigned work, closed tickets, and met expectations.

The manner of dismissal felt retaliatory and unprofessional. I was also told that failure to immediately return equipment would be reported to the agency, which felt unnecessarily aggressive.

Overall, the environment felt toxic, with poor communication, inconsistent management standards, and a lack of respect for staff. The pay (£14.11 per hour) does not reflect the expectations or stress of the role. In my experience, the Trust did not uphold the values of integrity, compassion, or fairness that the NHS represents.

I want to be clear that the agency itself was professional and supportive. My issues relate solely to the management culture within this specific NHS Trust’s IT department.

Based on my experience, I would advise others to think carefully before accepting a role here.

My overall experience onboarding with NHS Professionals was positive. There were moments when the process felt challenging, and I nearly felt like giving up, but the support I received made all the difference.

What stood out most was the genuine care and follow-up from Debby Davies. She regularly checked in to ensure I was getting the right support, answered my questions patiently, and helped navigate the more difficult steps. Her involvement truly smoothed out the onboarding journey and made me feel valued and supported.

I’m grateful for the structure NHS Professionals has in place and especially for team members like Debby, who go the extra mile to make new starters feel welcomed and confident.

Thank you for the effort and personal touch—it really matters.

I have worked for NHSP as bank staff for overtime, I also as part of my day job manage overtime for other staff on NHSP, ie inputting and approving overtime hours, supporting staff to register with NHSP. I find the communication non-existent, their systems are unclear and awful, registering a new member of staff takes weeks and weeks, everything has to be chased constantly and it's like stumbling around in the dark as there is no clear process and no communication of what should happen, where to take or upload information and no sense of any urgency, the whole point of NHSP is to help fill in staffing gaps, I've had staff off on long term sick who have returned before we can get cover sorted via NHSP, those staff didn't come back early and the NHS doesn't authorise cover quickly!!! I've worked in recruitment previously, if my systems had been this poor I'd have been out of work in a month!!
In addition as a member of staff who is neurodivergent I find their help section badly organised, unclear and to be honest confusing!
How they continue to operate with this monopoly on NHS agency work I will never understand!!!
