Neals Yard Dairy provide an absolutely first class set of British cheeses in peak condition. They work with suppliers to improve their product, they provide helpful information about their cheeses to us customers. But most importantly, they supply delicious strong Cheddar, beautiful Stilton, and a wide range of goats and sheep cheeses. Living in a village as I do, their delivery service is invaluable.
Love the product, hate the total absence of any carrier bag in the store. Didn't plan to shop, didn't carry any and left the shop handful of smelly cheese piece by piece. Ridiculous. It's not about environment (there could be recyclable paper bags), it's about cutting corners & disrespect for the customer.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we are winding down our stock of plastic bags and are one week away from being entirely plastic bag free in our shops. We have some great paper and cloth bag alternatives coming which we hope will be a good compromise between our environmental ideals and the reality of being caught out shopping without a bag. We're sorry you weren't offered something to use this time and hope that you'll be pleased with our offerings in future. We can assure you that we pride ourselves in doing things well and not cutting corners, so we can only apologise that this was the impression you received when you shopped with us recently.
Fantastic customer service and the cheese is always excellent. Although we had a problem with a poor delivery company delivering the cheese today, NYD sorted it straight away in a polite and very helpful way. Highly recommend this company if you love British cheese.
Pretty much the best stuff you can find that's easily accessible. Though it takes some courage to enter the store given how strong the smell is!
Excellent cheese. Smooth delivery. Please consider reducing the amount of packaging that you use for deliveries as it's not environmentally sustainable and puts me off reordering. Is a large freezer pack and sheep's wool insulation really needed? If you haven't already, perhaps try experimenting with using less packaging or give customers a packaging light choice where the customer takes the risk of the cheese deteriorating (which is probably limited given that most cheeses are I think matured at room temperature). Maybe also different packaging options in Winter and Summer. Today it's 3 or 4 degrees so chilling not really needed.
Outstanding British cheeses (matured and stored to the peak of perfection) delivered on the right day, packed to allow storage in a cool garage until needed. Customer service was exemplary when I needed to make changes to the order.
We order Christmas cheeses from NYD every year and they never let us down
The subscription is a monthly treat to look forward to and enjoy excellent cheeses which are selected to give a good variety. One or two new discoveries every month. The leaflet giving detailed notes on the cheeses is useful. Very carefully packaged to keep the cheeses in optimum condition. As a cheese lover more familiar with French/Italian/Spanish cheeses, I highly recommend discovering the wonderful cheeses of the UK.

Having ordered our Christmas cheese again for collection we got locked down again, so couldn’t collect. By the next day Neals Yard had arranged to pack and post, and the cheese should be with us by 23 December. Fantastic response and service. We shall enjoy our cheese as always. Shame there is no one to share it with!

I really wanted to like this company, but their service is just terrible.
I work as a nurse and "treated" myself to some fancy cheese a few weeks ago. I went to collect it from the Borough store on my day off, as scheduled... Only to be told it wouldn't be there for 2 days (when I'd be on shift). Annoying. I then walk almost an hour home, and immediately get an email saying the cheese is now ready for collection. Doubly annoying. When I go to pick it up on my next day off, I ask the girl at the til whether there were any wonky shaped cheeses that were on discount (my sister's a chef and mentioned this is common with most dairy shops). The shop attendant gave me the filthiest look, like I'd just asked for a dead puppy, and sneered "no". She also, obviously, didn't apologise for the messed up collection process, or offer any sort of discount on the £50 order.
So overall: shockingly bad. Customer service, nil points. The cheese was alright, but not mind-blowing, and I'd never want to shop with this place again. Awarding 2 stars only because I spoke with a friendly man in another store who seemed keen to help.

Ordered a cheese selection as recommended by Jaime Oliver and it arrived as per date requested. Well packaged with an ice pack and wool insulation. Gorgeous cheeses, beautifully wrapped. Better than any supermarket delivery.
