Their breakfast sandwiches are well filled, however, I rate it 2 stars for the following reasons: staff are handling cash at the counter, then without hand washing or wearing gloves, handle the bread to make sandwiches; the sausages are the cheap crappy type; the brown sauce is some cheap crappy sauce - how can a place doing English breakfasts not even have HP sauce!? Large coffee cups quite small (take away ones anyway); finally, there's often a Braces Bread truck there - I don't know whether Braces are supplying Mortimers with bread or the other way around but in any case, Braces is one of the worst breads (shouldn't be called bread at all) as the ingredients are multiple harmful and non-nourishing crappy ingredients, found only in cheap crappy, fake bread.

Worst sausage roll we've ever had. The sausage meat was soggy and I don't think it ever had any pork in it. The pastry had a strange taste to it. After two bites each it went into a bin. I'm sure the local rats won't be so discerning.

Purchased 2 x fresh cream chocolate eclairs from the Yeovil branch. They were placed in a paper bag which, one hour later and on a cold Autumn day and kept separate from any other shopping, when opened were found to be stuck well and truly to the bag rendering them a complete mess.
In most other bakeries fresh cream cakes are placed into cardboard boxes which prevent any occurrence of this.
I know I should have asked but ...
