Stayed at milling barn for a wedding wedding breakfast was nice the room we stayed in over night was tiny hot water from tap hit and miss the pizza on the night just like eating cheap Iceland pizza under cooked and very doughy and stodgy gotta be out your room for 9am sharp and breakfast at 9am one piece bacon one egg one hash brown small pot beans half grilled tomato small pot tea for 4 never once did anyone from staff come in breakfast room te ask if everything was ok was not impressed 2 cups instant coffee £6.00 didn’t do any other only one person behind the bar long wait to be served venue very nice the rest utter rubbish you have been warned

Lovely venue for the wedding, really enjoyed it, was a great day. Food was lovely, couldn't fault it. Just one thing let it down, the room we stayed in overnight. The was no air con or even a fan, and it was very hot! When I turned the cup over for a drink, one was very stained, looked like it had never been cleaned, I did leave a note on it. Also the shower doors were not on the runner's properly and didn't close very well. The shower room door squeaked hence we had to improvise with the hinges!! The room was nice but for £200 a night there needs to be improvements and checks done.

5 Stars – The Perfect Venue for Our Dream Wedding!
I had always envisioned a barn wedding, but my husband wasn’t so sure. We decided to visit three different types of venues to help us narrow things down – a barn, a manor, and a hall. After doing some research, we chose The Milling Barn as the barn to visit. Initially, my husband had reservations because when he thought "barn," he imagined farms and animals! But I was confident this was the place for us.
As soon as we arrived at The Milling Barn, I knew in my heart it was the venue, but I kept quiet because I didn’t want to sway my soon-to-be husband. The team at The Milling Barn was incredible from the start – professional, polite, and knowledgeable. We went back three times before making our final decision, and each time, we were even more certain this was where we wanted to get married. The team at the Milling Barn put us both and ease and I was really happy to see my partner fall in love with the venue and agree this was where we wanted to get married.
The reviews were fantastic, especially about the food – and food is a big deal for both me and my husband! People raved about it, and I knew we had to experience it ourselves. We scheduled a meeting with Aimie, who walked us through every detail of how a wedding at The Milling Barn would work. She explained that she would be our wedding coordinator, should we decide to move forward, and we felt totally at ease with her from the beginning.
Once we confirmed the date and paid the deposit, everything was smooth sailing. The communication was top-notch, and no question felt too small or silly to ask. Aimie and the team were always responsive and made sure we felt supported throughout the whole planning process. The addition of cocktails, garden games, and beautiful decorations really added to the atmosphere and gave us exactly what we wanted.
On the day of the wedding, everything ran so smoothly. The team truly took care of everything, which meant my husband and I could just enjoy our special day. The food was out of this world – our guests are still talking about it! Even the evening food didn’t disappoint and was just as delicious as the rest.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning, both inside and out. The grounds, the barn, the whole ambiance – it was the perfect setting for our big day.
If you’re looking for a beautiful venue with exceptional service and food that will leave your guests raving, The Milling Barn is the place to be. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue for our wedding!

My daughter and her then to be husband got married at Millings Barn last Thursday and all I can say was it was the most magical day for many reasons and one of them was down to the most beautiful venue, stunning. Food was amazing, staff couldn't have been more helpful and in particular Ellie and Dave's wedding planner Julie, who looked after everyone in particular the bride and bridesmaids, nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend this venue to anyone who was looking for a magical wedding day.

Firstly I would like to say that the venue is beautiful and the staff are amazing. To any guest that comes for the wedding and not staying at the venue you see all the beauty that the Millingbarn offers. What you won’t see and the tiny room they offer for £135 and is very dirty. I travelled a long way to a family wedding and stayed at the venue, I went to get a shower and the spiders webs, spiders, black mould and extremely dirty shower head had me flabbergasted. Other family members said their showers didn’t have hot water. I would see this kind of issue with big hotels but there is only 8 rooms. Breakfast is basically you get what you’re given, no choice.

Absolutely outstanding, the team are amazing from Sam & Gemma in the office nothing too much trouble so accommodating.
On the day the team were unbelievable so on point and passionate.
Annie, Chloe, neave, Becca & Aimee all so kind attention to detail was noted.
The food was lovely- the pizzas are the best ever so many people

Had the pleasure of setting up and attending the wedding of my niece at the weekend .
Found the staff to be extremely helpful and supportive throughout the weekend Martina and her team did a great job to ensure the weekend went well .
Food was very tasty and served promptly and was hot .

As a wedding photographer, I have had the pleasure of capturing numerous nuptials at the Milling Barn, and it's always a delight. The venue is a breathtaking blend of traditional and rustic charm, incorporating the character of a 17th century oak barn and the ambiance of an old farmyard.

The barn is truly spacious and sophisticated, making it a magical setting for weddings. The high ceilings and exposed beams lend a rustic feel that is perfect for both the ceremony and the wedding breakfast. The soft lighting throughout the venue highlights the original timber framework and beams, creating a special glow that complements the natural daylight that floods in through the windows.

At night, the lights are dimmed, and the atmosphere changes, providing the perfect backdrop for dining, drinking, dancing, and celebrating your special day. The garden and patio area are the perfect places to relax once the formalities have been completed, and provide additional photo opportunities.

Overall, I highly recommend the Milling Barn as a wedding venue. It's truly breathtaking, and the perfect place to start your journey as a married couple.

What a wonderful day the marriage of my daughter Jen and her now husband James. Your venue was stunning!!!. Mary made the ceremony so wonderful. Martina was great and the bar staff and waitresses so kind.

Unfortunately no option to give zero stars . Do not book here !!!! They steal your left over pre paid drink that they make you buy in advance . They use battery chickens even though they charge you for quality ingredients. They will find every way possible not to give you your deposit back .

We got married on 27/07/22 at this venue. It was the best day of our lives and in no small part this was down to the amazing staff at the venue. Having planned this for 2 years everything was perfect from start to finish with every detail catered for by the staff especially the Duty manager Lauren. She looked after us and our wedding party every step of the way. She amazed us with her attention to our needs on the day.
The grounds and venue were beautiful and our guests thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The food was excellent and everything went like clockwork.
Thank you Milling Barn for a day we will never forget.

One phonecall has honestly put me off even continuing with this venue. We are all in lockdown and understand that everyone is working remotely. However, keen to book the virtual viewing, as stated on the website, and we select the preferred time. Received a confirmation email stating they will come back to us in due course with further details, nothing came. Emailed 15 minutes before the time to check it was still possible, hadn't heard anything (which is no issue as it didn't really give them that much time to respond). So instead thought it was easiest to call up at the time of the appointment and just politely ask is it possible to still have it? The lady on the phone (later found out was not the wedding coordinator) gave a very curt response stating 'well you can't come and view the venue, that isn't possible, we are all working remotely'. I replied I realised we were in a national lockdown but it did state to book a virtual appointment on the website and assumed that meant a zoom call as we have done this with several other venues. She responded with oh you thought it was an actual appointment, no they will just send you a video tour but she is very busy and if I take your email she will send it. The tone, attitude, and complete lack of care at all to a couple about to spend £30k+ absolutely astounded me. This one phone call and the way this lady treated us in those fleeting few seconds, may sound trivial but with so many beautiful venues around, why would I waste my time with one that cares so little about you finding out more???
