I'm learning Korean and I've gotten really far I'm at the last level which is level 8. until I realised that I was learning hangul this isn't the main issue my main problem is that they didn't tell my
like you guys could've like told me that this was the written form because I started speaking Korean and they were confused saying you're not supposed to speak hangul you're supposed to write hangul they told me that I should speak jujukkda so mesmerise my criticism is tell me the doo-doo you're teaching me and teach me more practical words like your only telling me pre-made sentences, (eg: I think your daughter is in the mafia WHEN WOULD I EVER USE THAT!!!) tell me the words in the sentence like I know how to say "how are you," but you won't tell me what the word "how" is, so can your supplementary exercises be more.... supplementary

You know when something works when you get surprised by the sudden appearance of a bunch of people talking at you on your phone in strange languages... I'm rubbish at languages, never liked them, not good memory and too embarrassed to try, but this app got me entertained beyond the language itself. Looking at these people in the videos sparked my curiosity... what's the first thing this French guy says in the morning... Is it the same as I do? Oh sh**, another 5 min please!! hahaha and how the hell do you say that in German?? It might come across as repetitive but stick with it. that's what makes it work! Money well spent.

Amazing company, they have a wonderful support team. If you email them telling your problem clearly they try to solve it immediately. Thanks a lot!

OK. So I've just started with Memrise. I found them today, and tried them - I really liked the software - it was fun to use and being a retired teacher, I can see why my pupils liked using these types of learning platforms. I've set up my payment with Paypal, and having read the other reviews I'm more than happy that I can cancel if I need to. Let's hope that things continue well. I hope to go to Norway next year, and I think this will be a big help.
Now two weeks into using this website, and it's growing on me. Took a little time to work out what to do, but I'm really enjoying the different tasks and the way things are repeated...I need them repeated...but it works. I hated learning French at school because I couldn't go at my own pace (this was a very long time ago!). Nice to get a response from Memrise too. I feel Iike I'm starting to learn Norwegian - that's what I wanted.

Terrible service! Their contact page always come up with an error, so you can't even get in touch.

They have renewed my account without any notice or confirmation!

Their service is so bad, they never listen to the users. Always ignore is their answer. Never ever should buy it.

They do not honor their own promotions. Terrible customer service. I will not use them again.

Arabic course is not ideal Rhsetta stone has a much better Arabic course but learning deutsch i prefer combining them both

I love it, very good looking interface very engaging.. Forget the memos or whatever the sheer amount of words they present with a male and female uttering the word and short videos { about 1-5 seconds } is very nice.. Some of the minor problems is that the mobile app locks me after completing like 10 min learning and asks me to upgrade.. But this problem is solved by using the mobile browser, the browser is not as smooth and easy as the app

Inferior to anki in every way

Memrise is simply the best way I have found of learning vocabulary in foreign languages. Whatever your level there are lists of words just right for you. The Memrise algorithm helps greatly in spaced revision, but you can revise as often or rarely as you want. It is also really simple to make your own lists of words to learn, and you can import lists from spreadsheets.

I used to use the app only on a PC, but now find that there are extra features on android and IOS which make it even easier to use, so I switch between the platforms.

This is a good platform for practicing a new foreign language but some features are quite annoying. Learning a long sentence and repeating it in practice is pointless. I would rather learn new single words than long sentences.

I like in memrise learning with video recorded natives. It is very motivating.

The point system is broken. When you reach level 15 or 16 there is no point to gain a new point because spaces between levels are too big.

Langue Hindi, vocabulaire inexistant .
Apres plusieurs contact par mail et sur le site immédiatement après l'abonnement pour une annulation de l'abonnement et un remboursement , aucune réponse.
La somme est débitée et l'engagement de MEMRISE non respecté
Faire très attention.

Plaisir d'apprendre
L'apprentissage des langues ou plutôt le complèment à l'apprentissage des langues devient un plaisir et plus une corvée.

Could be amazing, but is rubbish. Non existent customer service, limited range of languages (and getting smaller), some of own courses are unusable. Eg see screenshot of Arabic. Laughable.

12 months after uninstalling the app, you get charged for another 12 months. Autorenewal is the policy, but no emails or notifications to warn at all. Really poor.

My favorite tool to learn foreign languages!
competitive price and many courses available. Like it and use it pretty much every day!

Great app for language memorization and spelling improvement. I don't think it would be enough to make you learn a language but it certainly helps. Has also trivias of other topics like art and history which is fun to learn.

Thought it was only a site to learn languages - Just noticed you can learn pretty much anything. I'm a huge Khan Academy fan but the algorithms with Memrise adds a lot of value for those serious in learning new things.
