Absolute joke, customer service non existent- avoid at all costs

Eleven days ago I ordered a pair of Babolat tennis racquet dampeners from the website. Stupid me for picking a UK business without looking at the TrustPilot Reviews. On Saturday I called the shop to find out where they were. I was told by the person who answered the telephone that he had flagged my order up to the owner a few days earlier and the owner was the only person who could authorise my order to be collected by a courier company to be delivered to me. It was weird, but I decided to give MDG Sports the benefit of the doubt. I called again today and spoke to the same alleged employee - who I am now starting to think is the owner. He told me Mike the owner was now on holiday in Scotland. I asked him could he not post the order to me using petty cash. He told me he wasn't allowed to open the till. Huh, I wonder how they make cash sales then if the till won't open? He suggested a refund and I said I wanted the order and would have to wait but I made it clear I was very unhappy. When we ended the call I went on to Trustpilot and saw multiple people have had really similar experiences. I noted some of the comments on its Facebook page as well. Then I went onto its Companies House records. I called back and said I would take the refund, only to be told that only Mike the owner can do that. I was told to email salesatmdgsportsdotcodotuk as only Mike the only has access to that and an email there will reach him. So I did and I told Mike I wanted a refund and proof it had been started by close of business today. Nothing. As far as I am concerned, MDG Sports has knowingly taken my money and deliberately not sent my property to me, or has taken money from me knowing they can not fulfill the order for whatever reason. My next step will be to make a complaint to my bank and I know I will get a refund. I'm also going to make complaints to Companies House and other authorities. I would not buy from this company - nothing rings true and best case scenario is that it has a control freak of an owner who thinks it's totally ok to treat customers like total sh*t. Knowing how he responds to other complaints there will be a narcissistic or passive aggressive reply saying he has refunded me or tried to contact me.

Tennis racquet purchased for my son's 18th birthday on 1st January. Never received and no refund. Multiple unanswered messages and emails, despite Keith escalating to his senior. Having read the other reviews of this company, this would appear to be a regular occurrence. Strongly recommend that others avoid this company.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. I placed an order which I did not receive and they do not response to emails. I’ve been told that the “supervisor” is looking into it.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We ordered a racket before Christmas which has been out for delivery twice (without any proof it has been sent) but the delivery company has “lost” it both times. We eventually asked for our money back but they have not done this. Every time you call you get poor Keith on the phone who is unable to do anything himself apart from to pass on messages. They promise to ring back but never do. Be warned - do not shop here.

I purchased sports shoes on-line at MDG in August. They were unable to supply them since the only ones of my size that were allegedly in stock at the time somehow apparently became "lost" by the courier. MDG therefore advised that they had refunded me, but no refund was made onto my credit card that month, nor in the 3+ months since then, despite several chasers by myself and a promise several weeks ago by someone called Keith in sales that he would "look into this now for you and get back to you asap". The company has subsequently not answered my follow up emails so I must conclude that they have no intention of paying this refund. If this is the case, it is fraud. Buyer beware!

What a great team that deliver on service.
We use the merchandise side of the business for our branded wear at Parkstone Sea Cadets and they cannot be beaten on price or service from bulk orders supporting special events to individual needs they are the best.

It’s been nearly 2 weeks since I ordered from them and still heard nothing about a dispatch or anything, I’ve tried to contact them various times but no answer???

MDG have still not refunded my money after 3 months' wait.
They do not reply to emails and never answer their phone, it is impossible to communicate with them. I posted on their Facebook page to ask for help. They deleted my post

Do not use this company. I bought and paid online for some new padel/tennis shoes from their website and they never arrived (it’s been 6 weeks). This company ignored my email/calls when I queried where my shoes were. I had to raise a dispute with AMEX. Do not be fooled by their website and do not buy from them.

Returned tennis shoes at my cost but no refund given no one ever answers phone or replies to emails

Never got money back

I had to phoned three times before my order was sent. Unhelpful and no-one ever phoned back. Really poor customer service.

Bought a Wilson pro staff and the experience from start to finish could not have been better. Mike and Kieth are both very knowledgeable. Allowed me to test the racquet for a couple of weeks before buying. Great shop, great staff and great products. I will definitely use again. Thanks Patrick

I bought a racket using their instructions for grip size. It was slightly large. I returned this racket at my own cost and completely unused according to the rules described on their returns page. They received this delivery on July 16, but there has been no refund and my emails go unanswered. Calling their number also goes to voicemail.

A great shop with knowledgeable staff that provide a great service and advice. I have bought a couple of tennis racket from them and have been given great advice on what type of racket and strings are best suited to my level of experience . One of my rackets recently failed (turned out to be a manufacturing fault) which I returned and was given a full replacement with no questions or queries asked.

It's great to support a local shop and I will continue to buy from them whenever I can, otherwise shops like this will go the same way as other specialist retailers

Ordered a racket, expecting their stated 2-4 business day delivery as I had a specific date I needed it by however I never received any update regarding the order. Emailed three times, called twice and finally got a response that they don't have it in stock and they don't know when it will be back. No communication from the store and no help in terms of rectifying. Awaiting my refund which they have promised but based off other reviewers, I will likely need to continue chasing this. Save the headache and order from someone else.

Found a well priced tennis racket on their site and ordered Monday evening. Read some recent reviews after saying they are scammers and don't respond. Was a bit worried as my order history just said payment received and we will update when we have shipped. 3 days later there was no change so I tried calling them. No one picked up the phone whenever I called. Their social media hadn't been updated since May 2024. Was beginning to think I wasn't going to receive my racket and I was starting tennis lessons at the weekend. Today, 3 days after ordering, my racket was delivered and all fine. No idea why the company social media has seemed to have gone AWOL or why they haven't updated the order status on orders but looking at price and speed of delivery I have no complaints and received my goods.

They’re taking money for goods online and not delivering. All calls and other forms of communication go unanswered. Essentially this is a fraudulent operation. Do not purchase from them.
