The crossbody purse I received was a piece of junk - made in China garbage that you would find on Temu - and for that I paid 100 dollars with shipping . I am all for supporting buy Canadian but some companies are not worthy of our dollars.

I contacted customer service about issues with my briefcase's shoulder strap and was brushed away both times. They wouldn't even allow me to purchase a new strap (which became unusable within 14 months), and told me to donate the bag...

Die Rücksendung ist eine Katastrophe. Ich habe eine Tasche reklamiert, die Nahtfehler aufwies. Das war Anfang Oktober. Letzte Woche (Mitte November) erhielt ich endlich ein Austauschprodukt, das allerdings ebenfalls Fehler aufwies und zusätzlich verschmutzt war. Bei erneuter Reklamation warte ich nun auf die Rückmeldung zur Abholung der Tasche. Um etwas zurückzusenden muss man immer zu Hause warten (in D), da das Unternehmen kein Rücksendelabel ausstellt.. ob die Rückerstattung erfolgreich sein wird, kann ich zur Zeit nur hoffen. Ich werde nicht nochmal dort bestellen.
Matt & Nat “vegan - Extremely Poor Quality and Zero Accountability…
I purchased a pair of Matt & Nat “vegan leather” boots and wore them literally four times. Within a year, the material started peeling off everywhere. For a brand that claims to be sustainable and environmentally friendly, this was incredibly disappointing.
The quality is so poor that the boots are now completely unusable and will end up in the dump, which is the opposite of sustainability. If a product can’t even withstand a handful of wears, it should not be manufactured or marketed as eco-friendly.
I reached out to Matt & Nat customer service expecting accountability, but they did not take responsibility for the defective product. The lack of support shows that they do not stand behind their quality claims.
Overall, this experience has been extremely frustrating. I would not recommend Matt & Nat to anyone looking for durable, ethical, or truly sustainable footwear.

J’ai écrit au service à la clientèle pour mentionner que je souhaitais deux items, mais je n’ai reçu qu’un. Je n’avais aucun problème à payer huit dollars pour le deuxième item, mais pas pour les 15 $ de livraison à nouveau. L’agent ou agente qui m’a écrit était très arrogant et a joué de sarcasme dans les communications pour me ridiculiser. Plus jamais je ne vais acheter en ligne chez Matt & Nat. C’est dommage car j’avais des vues pour un Portefeuille entre autres, car j’en avais déjà un de cette marque mais il commençait à briser.

One of the worst quality airpods case i have ever bought this expensive. I spent about 30£ quid for their LETRA airpods case. It didn’t even lasted three months. All the stitching is just a design its sticked with glue which came off. Never used them rough never got close to water and still it’s falling apart. The leather texture starts turning white within a week. Very bad quality for 30 quid.
Mind the Straps! Think x2 about buying
I have purchased several items from the company and want to register my surprise and disappointment at a recent customer service experience. A while back, l bought a briefcase, lovely looking olive coloured one with handles and a shoulder strap.l had not overloaded it but found that the shoulder strap kept detaching its retaining pins and is currently unusable. As l am temporarily on crutches after a leg operation, carrying it is now out of the question. Matt and Nat’s response? We don’t sell straps separately. So l said, surely this is a quality issue? They have not even bothered to reply. My advice would be, MIND THE STRAP! Think twice before you buy.
Matt and Nat have lost a loyal customer
I have just had one of the worst experiences with customer service in my life . I have been a customer of Matt and Nat's for years and, until now, have never had any trouble with the company. This time it was different, however. To make a long story short, I ordered two bags from Matt and Nat but only one was sent to me. When I alerted customer service of this (and it took several attempts to get any response from them) I was told that both bags were posted and as far as they were concerned the matter was settled. I am left feeling angry and frustrated as I paid for a bag I am apparently never going to receive. I certainly won't be using Matt and Nat ever again.

Customer service does not respond to…
Customer service does not respond to emails. I also ordered some shoes in the sale, they sent the wrong size for one pair and both shoes feel tight and uncomfortable. I would not pay full price for their products, they do not feel great quality.
ordered the OVI Women's Vegan Lace-Up…
I ordered the OVI Women's Vegan Lace-Up Boots via the online shop, which arrived on 29 May. I have worn the boots only a handful of times. The inside of the left boot, by the toes, has completely collapsed in. Meaning my toes are now rubbing on the underside of the sole of the boot. When I put my hand in the right boot I can feel the insole coming away, and the same thing is about to happen.
I purchased these boots as I live with a chronic pain condition and need a lot of stability around my ankles. I am disappointed that they are now unwearable, as my toes get blisters from wearing them, as the insole has come away. I emailed the customer service address and got this this response:
"We are very sorry to hear that the shoes are harming you. Unfortunately, we cannot proceed with a exchange, as your shoes have been worn into. We do not accommodate a return or exchange of items that have been opened, worn or tampered with, as per our return policy. Therefore, we will not be able to return this item to our stock and this will affect our inventory count. "
The boots are unwearable, they were over $(AU)200. I do not recommend at all

Belle arnaque. J'ai commandé 2 sacs à doc spécial voyage acceptés en cabine suite à une pub avec plusieurs photos des sacs et j'ai reçu 2 sacs ordinaires qui n'ont rien à voir avec les photos, pas du tout le modèle qui s'ouvrait comme une valise comme sur les photos. J'ai envoyé un mail de réclamation et là on me demande de les renvoyer à mes frais et pas de remboursement ni d'échange mais un simple bon à utiliser sur leur site...
Shipping Feedback
Happy with everything. The only thing I was a bit surprised to see was my hundred dollar bag get shipped not in a box. Having it just inside a mailing bag was kind of strange to me as throughout the shipping process it’s easy for it to get squished or damaged. I also paid for the extra insurance on shipping so I was just kind of surprised to see it shipped in that way with no protection. No bubble wrap or anything.
Buyer Beware
Once upon a time Matt and Nat was a shining beacon of a Canadian, cruelty-free business.
But beware. The quality has declined and feels more like fast-fashion.
I purchased a weekender in April (2025).
It was used for two long-weekend trips, and packed with just some summer clothes and travel-sized toiletries.
The piece that connects the shoulder strap ripped open, leaving no option but to carry it.
I don't know anything about construction, but I could count the number of stitches that were supposed to hold it on.
There was no cross stitching or any additional measures/fasteners to ensure that this wouldn't happen.
I'm now going through a rather convoluted and not very customer friendly exchange process, at the end of which they will only offer to replace it with the same bag, I imagine with the same poor craftsmanship/stitching.
I guess I will use it if I ever find the need to transport feathers or cotton balls from points A to B.
If you're only looking for aesthetics, and not durability, this brand may be fine for you, but I'm sure you can find quality with the looks you want elsewhere.
Did not pay the Money back
I bought shoes, they did not fitt, payed 40€ to send them back. AND THEY DID NOT REFOUND THE MONEY OF THE SHOES!!!!

Ich hatte grosse Erwartungen an Matt & Nat – leider wurde ich auf ganzer Linie enttäuscht. Bereits nach nur drei Tagen sehr sorgfältiger Nutzung wies meine Tasche sichtbare Kratzer und Schrammen auf, obwohl ich sie extrem behutsam behandelt habe. Ein weiterer Schaden entstand sogar über Nacht, als die Tasche unbenutzt in sicherer Umgebung verstaut war. Das Material ist schlicht nicht für den Alltag zu gebrauchen!
Der Kundenservice erklärte zunächst, es handle sich um normale Abnutzung, kein Herstellungsfehler – obwohl ich glaubhaft machen konnte, dass die Beschädigungen nicht durch unsachgemässe Nutzung entstanden sind.
Nach langem Hin und Her wurde mir zwar ausnahmsweise eine Rückgabe angeboten – jedoch nur auf eigene Kosten, inklusive Rückversand in die Niederlande. Zoll- und Versandgebühren wurden ebenfalls nicht rückerstattet, obwohl sie einen erheblichen Anteil der Gesamtkosten ausmachten.
Da ich auf Trustpilot viele ähnliche Bewertungen gelesen habe, in denen Kunden über ausbleibende Rückerstattungen berichten, wollte ich das Risiko nicht eingehen, nochmals Zeit und Geld zu investieren, ohne sicher zu sein, mein Geld tatsächlich zurückzubekommen.
Am Ende stehe ich nun mit einem mangelhaften Produkt, über 150 CHF Verlust und viel Zeitaufwand da – ohne ein brauchbares Ergebnis.
Für mich war es der erste und letzte Kauf bei Matt & Nat.
Matt and Nat seems SO shady
This company seems so shady! I ordered a bag and I had to pay for the delivery (and eventually the return of the bag). The quality was atrocious. Having paid £90, I was expecting something somewhat better than a bag that probably cost £5 to put together. Oh, and I didn't even receive a refund, as they emailed me to say that the warehouse couldn't locate my returned parcel. Avoid like the plague!

I ignored the reviews here and decided to order a backpack. When it arrived, it didn’t suit me, it was much bulkier than expected. I followed the return instructions and sent an email requesting a return code. No reply. I sent a second email to the same address and waited. Two weeks later, still no response. At that point, I contacted my bank to dispute the transaction, as this felt like fraud. Thankfully, my bank opened a case. A couple of weeks later, the store finally emailed me, in a rather rude tone, claiming they never received any of my emails. I explained the situation and even sent them proof from Gmail in PDF format. Once again, no reply.
Luckily, the bank resolved the dispute in my favor. But I will never shop at this store again. Why deceive customers like this? I was ready to return the item properly.
Garbage
Garbage. Spent $100 on my first Matt and Nat bag and the bottom is coming apart within a month. I messaged the company and because I didn’t buy it directly through them I’m not covered under warranty. Definitely won’t be buying their product again. Lame!
