Without doubt the worst bank in 57 years I have had a mortgage with , foreign call centres when you eventually get off their AI answering service .
As allways broken bad English
I have been passed between 5 different “ people “ over a period of 3 days to enquire about a message they sent saying I owed them money which I did not .
3 days has passed and still they are passing me to more “ advisors “ it’s obviously a game they play .
As soon as this dispute is settled I’m dropping Macquarie Bank , without doubt the most average bank in Australia .
Do not trust them with anything ,

Absolute scumbags! Tip toeing around any general enquiries. Only when you drain your accounts will they respond.

Disgusting behaviour with existing customers
I tried to open a business account with Macquarie Bank where my husband & I already have a mortgage account with. I finally connected to them after two internal transfers and 35 minutes wait. I called them when my application stated that I could not be verified. I pointed out I was already an existing customer, surely I am already known to them. They did not care.
I have decided to withdraw my application.
My advice is that it is not worth the hassle trying to open an internet banking account with Macquarie Bank when you can walk into any high street bank to do the same thing.
Never use Macquarie

Macquarie block legitimate internal transactions, then refuses to do anything about it when asked to fix the situation.
They also refuse to pass on rate decreases on home loans.
No help with issue or desire to resolve it.
Said to be writing this review as to date I have been really happy with Macquarie, although I have needed an issue that needed resolving. However, I have just had a really customer service experience via their helpline. I am unable to access my online banking or app across multiple devices and customer service is unable to help. The person I spoke to was happy to say good-bye to me on the phone with no advise or resolution or suggestion of next steps to ever access my banking again. I'm in shock.
Macquarie Bank stands behind their customers
I received some goods from a company in China. The goods were faulty. I used to debit card from Macquarie. I disputed the amount and Macquarie decided to refund me the amount as a gesture of Goodwill it was over $700. I consider that outstanding customer service they trusted me.

After everything I went through the pressure, the lies, the constant calls I can’t believe that company is still running. They thrive by targeting people. I had to walk away and found something better. #ECHOMINES is in a different class entirely. They truly are the best.
Don't bank with them
Don't bank with them. I open the saving account yesterday, no problem transferring the money in, but after I transfer $10 to my ubank account, they lock my account. Calling them won't unlock your account, they send me a link to do id verification. After the verification done, still won't unlock your account. Good luck getting to customer service, still waiting for them to call back

Worst Bank In The World
My experience of the Macquarie Bank , Sydney from October to the end of December 2026 was the most horrendous and stressful experience of my life and that of my wife’s life.
The total incompetence of their system is embarrassing , if this is the future of electronic banking we should all give up living now.
We rolled over our Super with the bank to a Self Managed Super Fund Account , I thought it would take 5 days as all could be done electronically within the bank no one else involved . It took 70 days 114 phone calls and 240 hours waiting on the phone to talking to 37 different staff members in total and that is not the worst.
In all that time,effort and stress we didn’t receive one phone call back from the bank to apologise to us like real people .
We both nearly had nerve breakdowns at the end. This new way of banking is a disgrace to the Australian Banking Institution .
Heavens forbid if they all use it and we have a Cashless Society. I would strongly recommend to all Australian’s to flee to Africa and live in a mud hut and be happy.
Poor customer service
Customer service gone down hill in past couple of years. Hard to speak to real people and not available during the weekend. Chat support is a joke. Unsure if my credit card replacement is on the way, over one week waiting.
