Not often i do reviews, but this time i do feel worth while. Stockport branch and Danny was the guy who looked after me. Sorted the miltek order, kept me posted with progress(can take weeks being custom order). Took there, fitted in around an hour, took time and has a little OCD. Aligning the tail pipes making perfect centre. So a special shout to Danny, did an awesome job and highly recommend the Stockport longlife. Used twice now, both times had excellent service.

Shocking company!
Put in an online quote request which was replied to from the Basingstoke branch with an obvious template which just had my car and my name altered.....
After replying to it questioning one or two things regarding parts & methods used I heard nothing.
Seems like I dodged a bullet bearing in mind some of the reviews already posted. Avoid!

Back box blowing on an old Honda HR-V. Rather than replace with a standard exhaust from the mainstream Kwikfit type garages I chose to renew with a stainless steel cat back exhaust from Longlife, Carshalton branch.
Very neat, quality job, and looks superb.
Post drive and I have to say incredibly pleased. Sound wise, at steady revs it's nice and quiet, put your foot down and there's a lovely note to the little VTEC engine.
If you want to get yourself an exhaust for your 'pride & joy' I would highly recommend you call Dan at the Carshalton branch, (he knows his stuff).
Treat your car, and yourself.
And don't forget the lifetime warranty.

UPDATE:
The HR-V has now done a fair few miles and some long motorway dashes and after handing the keys to my Dad, who drove the HR-V prior to the exhaust change, "it's a different car" he said.
There's no doubt the engine is now allowed to breath freely. The first gen HR-V is no performance car, but, the Longlife exhaust has been a superb present for this old Honda, it's given it that much more 'get up and go'.

Swansea (neath) branch are an absolute joke. Went to see them about an exhaust for a custom exhaust and because it had a engine fitted pre-catalytic convertor day's they refused to do the work because of my requirements of it not needing a cat and them sharing a premises with an MOT test centre.

Vosa explained as long as the car the engine came out of was pre 1993 and evidence of this was kept it can be put into any chassis without a cat. Long life refused this and continued to say it was illegal blah blah because of the mot test centre next door.

Went to prospeed in Cardiff who laughed at what LL told me along and made my exhaust to my requirements, they also priced matched LL and cheaper.

Needless to say my car has passed its Mot yesterday for another 12 months without needing a cat once the mot tester was informed of the engine change and backed up by evidence so there was no dispute.

uselesss warranty, exhaust fitted in plymouth went back , as brocken bracket, fitter who had originally fitted exhaust at earlier franchise in plymouth said I had been ripped off, as none standard parts had been fitted.

We run a business building Classic replica Ferrari's. I have had many complete systems built to our specification by Matt in Basingstoke. He is a master at exhaust creation. We just tell him how loud we want it and he builds it to suit. Only ever need one small correction which he did immediately and fuss free. Cannot praise highly enough.

I own and drive a 2003 Vauhall Omega which I have owned since 2006.

In December 2009 I had a Longlife exhaust fitted at Spa Motors, Leamington Spa, thinking that I would never have to change it.

In May 2010 (six moths later) my car failed the MOT because one of the hangers under the middle of the car was fitted in the wrong place and did not hook into the rubber hanger.
Spa Motors no longer did Longlife exhausts so I took the car to another dealer who quickly rectified the fault free of charge.

In December 2017 the exhaust started to blow at the point where the stainless steel is welded to the old exhaust.
No problem, it has a lifetime guarantee. WRONG!!!!!!!

I booked the car in at Car City, Peterborough, my nearest Longlife dealer.
They didn't understand why I thought it was covered by guarantee.
I insisted that it was so they had to contact Longlife head office at Bridport in Dorset for a decision.

The next contact asked me to send a copy of the original invoice along with a copy of the car registration document (V5). Presumably to prove that I still owned the vehicle. I duly sent these documents.

I received an email on 17th January from Kevin Page-Smith at Bridport saying that he was dealing with it.
I heard no more so, on 1st February I emailed said Kevin Page-Smith to ask what what happening. I received an automated reply saying that he was out of the office.

Since that date they have not replied to my emails.

It would appear that the lifetime guarantee is not worth the paper it is written on. Perhaps they don't expect their customers to keep the same car for 11 years.

Needless to say I would no longer recommend them unless you are not planning to keep your car for more than 5-6 years. In which it is not worth the extra cost. You might as well stick with the standard exhaust.

Longlife Cardiff - wonderful! Standard exhausts are no longer made for my 22 year old VW Corrado, so the guys in Cardiff built me a CAT-back system. Not only fantastic service, obliging manner and good time-keeping, but it looks fantastic on the car. Clearly great care has been taken with positioning everything and it looks perfect. Not only that, but it's been given a nicely 'edgy' note, so it sounds great without being loud (as I requested, but better!). The added bonus is in the performance, smoothing out little flat spots in the acceleration that I've always had in the 16 years I've had the car. It's always been great to drive, but never better than now! Thanks guys - truly 'awesome' stuff!

Very poor service from Basingstoke avoid like the plague! Customer service is shocking worst than the standard of work!

I used Dan at Longlife in Carshalton many years a go to make a custom exhaust for my car, was not made to anywhere how I specified I would like it and was made to sit and wait for an hour why he messed around and came to work late with no Apology - his attitude ia arrogant and rude and has no customer service skills. Made the exhaust completely disregarding what I had asked and didnt give a monkeys afterwards. I now need a silencer put in my DC5 system and am choosing to wait for a month and travel an hour away rather than go near that place, ovoid.

Very bad product, treatment and service.

They caused considerable damage to my car and I have incurred substantial costs getting car repaired and restored to its original unmolested condition.

Their works at Basingstoke Depot fitted a very poorly finished exhaust system that was the wrong layout (silencer was at front instead of rear - as per standard exhaust system), it constantly rattled and made a dreadful noise and looked tacky and cheap, the tailpipes weren't equal length and it was so badly fitted that it melted rear bumper and that need replacement (as well as having a brand new standard system fitted by a main dealer).

No customer service and even the Head Office would not help resolve dispute - even though they said "Not another complaint about Basingstoke!".

I have therefore reported this to Trading Standards Offices and am in the process of taking Company to Court to recover all repairs and associated costs from this Franchise.

UPDATE - SUCCESSFULLY SUED THEM IN COURT WHO UPHELD MY CLAIM FOR FULL COST OF ALL REPAIRS.

Their so-called "lifetime warranty" is not worth the paper its written on, as their product lasted a week before it caused car to break down, destroy sensors and damage the catalytic converter (with electronics damaged) and it constantly rattled and looked/sounded tacky.

Had car restored to its unmolested original specification and after all the hassle I've had trying to get this matter resolved, I now deeply regret ever contacting them (and have read numerous bad reviews about Longlife Exhausts - just wish I had seen these before!).

Whilst I have rated here for the lowest available score at 1 star (bad experience / unacceptable / poor), I wish I had the option to rate at minus stars as truly shocking product, treatment and no aftercare or service!

AVOID THESE DODGY COWBOYS & ROGUES AT ALL COSTS!

I've used Longlife Carshalton many times in the past and spent a lot of money with them. When I enquired about having a stock back section put back in my car however(that I supplied), I was told 'we don't really do that sort of thing'. Sorry, I thought you were an exhaust specialist? And don't treat me like I'm some scally from the street. When I paid for the previous full exhaust systems I had made there my money was good enough.

What really annoyed me was in the end Danny agreed to do the work, although really reluctantly, and made me wait for 5 hours after I'd booked the car in and driven 80 miles to get there. I SPECIFICALLY showed him what I wanted doing before any of the work commenced as I knew how I wanted it, and I was told no problem. When the car was finished it looked like absolute dog crap. The exhaust tips stuck out way past the bumper which I specifically didn't want, plus the tips pointed down and in different directions. I told him I wasn't happy with it and got an abrupt and annoyed reply of, 'well it's the stock box mate, that's just how it is'. No attempt at even trying to fix the work he promised from the start.

In hindsight I should have refused to pay and driven away as I now have to get this done somewhere else and fork out more money. Head office was also not much help saying I had to take it back there as they can't force the branch to refund me.

I certainly won't be using this clown again.

Had a custom made exhaust from these guys (Surrey franchise) and regretted it. I bought the car along in advance for them to check over before agreeing the work, they took on the job but the fit was so bad I could not drive far. Pipe was routed through the rear suspension so tightly that every bump in the road caused a collision of lower link or driveshaft with exhaust. Returned for remedial work but the result was not much better. Ended up going to another supplier for a completely new system.

The work done by these guys is really great - I brought my Nissan S-Cargo to have a new exhaust made (it's impossible to buy one). There were two Dans at the workshop. Daniel - the younger one, is really helpful, knowledgeable and great at customer service. The other, who I think is the franchise owner, was quite the reverse. Surprising as it's his business. One the phone, when I said I was on my way to the workshop he was rather brusque - even when I came back to collect my finished car, he saw me arrive and promptly got in his 'Warrior' type vehicle and drove off without saying anything. It's such a shame as I am sure that business will be lost with that attitude. BUT if you speak to the younger Daniel then you will get great service - and despite the rudeness, the overall result is really good.

Very pleased with the exhaust that Longlife Carlshalton have made for my BMW E46. Sounds great and the chrome twin pipe looks awesome. The only issue stopping me from giving this place 5* is the manager, Dan. He was very sarcastic and was the least helpful person I've ever met. Every question I asked he replies bluntly and made it very obvious he doesn't care. All the other staff was very helpful and nice to talk too.

I had a dreadful experience getting an exhaust fitted at Longlife Surrey. The cat-back system they installed on my BMW 645 was poorly made, didn't sound right, was inadequate to the car and looked tacky and cheap!
I had it on my car for a few weeks, before taking it off, scrapping it and getting the entire exhaust system completely replaced elsewhere.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

To elaborate a bit more:
1. A major section of the system was made in 2" piping, which is significantly too narrow for a 4.4L V8! This is narrower than OEM/Stock piping.
2. The x-pipe was badly designed bottle-necking the already thin system to the width of roughly a single pipe in the x section!
3. The system swayed and moved laterally to the extent of knocking on my bumper and melting the bumper on both sides!
4. The craftsmanship was extremely poor.
5. The bumper cut-outs were untidy – looked like the guy cut them out with a wood saw and didn’t bother to sand or tidy them up (I needed to do that myself!).
6. The exhaust tips were truly dreadful with visible welds, wonky, uneven, made out of similar cheap piping they used under the car.
7. The exhaust tips were all pointing in slightly different directions (quad tips) and you could see the hangers and welds from behind the car – it looked absolutely DREADFUL.
8. Additionally, they left a steel ~30cm cross-brace hanging loose under my car, this could have caused a major accident or damage, if it were to slip out on the motorway at 70mph. I luckily noticed it 2 weeks later and took it off the car myself.
9. Dan (Longlife) also cancelled on me twice at short notice. First time an hour before I had my exhaust installation booked. The second time an hour before I had a visit booked to look at my melted bumper.
10. Their customer service was non-existent and they were difficult to deal with.

Importantly, the deep V8 sound that I clearly specified and was after, wasn’t there. Instead the exhaust sounded WORSE than stock, with a high pitched, raspy, metallic sound instead. After I got the Longlife system out and a proper one fitted, the car finally sounded like it should!

Longlife did not take any responsibility for this mess and refused to refund any money, even a partial amount. They offered to install other silencers instead, which I'd need to buy and PAY FOR. I declined their "kind" offer.

In the end I lost £720 to Longlife Surrey and was forced to pay for an entire new system to be made for my car elsewhere!!!
