Multiple failures from the solicitor in replying to enquiries, providing documents, availability and contact ability was poor.

We bought our first house through LPL solicitors and had an ok experience. We did find it difficult to get in contact with our case handler on multiple occasions throughout the 5 month process, which definitely caused delays and unnecessary stress. On occasions I’d have sent 4/5 emails and tried calling multiple times throughout the week before getting through, only to be told they were ‘just about to ring me’! However, all of my questions did get answered, and in the crucial period just before exchange and completion the communication became very good.

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Sonia informed me of every change on my status, contacted me as soon as anything was required to give me time to sort and helped to push the purchase of my house through as quickly as possible. Thank you

I was really happy with the level of service I received from Nicolas Foy. I am in the process of buying another property and I have made sure to use LPL again.

The sale of the house was held up on a number of occasions, the court appearences were no reason In law to stop the process costing us thousands of pounds needlessly. The judge in the last hearing questioned the delay as it was not required and left us in a position where we could have had the house repossed due to no fault of our owne,your company did not in my expirence deliver the level of professionalism I had been given to expect from your company.There was no legal reason to stop the sale as identified by the judge on the day ,I would like an explanation for this occurrence, apart from that I found the expirence to be a very easy process and hope you do better in future as you have a very good business opportunity to grow very quickly, I would advise people to use your services providing it was a straight forward sale ,all the best in the future J V FOLEY

LPL made buying our new home so simple. The team were professional, responsive, and explained everything in plain language. We could track progress online, which kept us informed at every step. Everything was completed smoothly and on time.

We used LPL Solicitors for the purchase of our first home after they were recommended through our mortgage broker from First Mortgages approved solicitors list.

Once our solicitor was assigned to us, he called to introduce himself and had an initial conversation with us about the process, which was helpful as first-time buyers starting the journey.

There are, however, a few aspects that first-time buyers should be aware of.

Firstly, we were originally quoted approximately £2,000 for the work through our mortgage broker. When the final bill arrived this had increased to over £3,000. While we understand that some costs can change during the course of a transaction, the increases were largely explained at the end of the process rather than being clearly highlighted as they arose. As people not working within the legal or conveyancing industry, it was difficult to anticipate these changes from the original quote. We were fortunately in a position to cover the difference, but it is something first-time buyers should be mindful of when budgeting.

Communication was another area that could have been improved. Much of the progress information we received during the purchase actually came from the estate agents rather than directly from the solicitor. While we weren’t expecting daily updates and were generally happy for the work to progress in the background, there were occasions where updates were expected but did not arrive.

For example, when we were approaching exchange and completion we were told we would receive an update, but after sending follow-up emails we did not receive a response.

Overall, the legal work was completed and we successfully purchased our home, so we wouldn’t describe the service as poor. However, clearer communication and greater transparency around potential costs would significantly improve the experience, particularly for first-time buyers navigating the process for the first time.
