Would not recommend
Unfortunately, my experience with this conveyancing firm was extremely disappointing.
Throughout the process, my original solicitor was consistently slow to respond. Communication was unclear, often contradictory, and many of my questions were simply ignored. The repeated delays almost caused my buyer to withdraw from the purchase and led to them threatening to charge me additional costs because of the lack of progress.
The handling of my onward purchase was equally poor. My solicitor only contacted my mortgage lender after I attended the office in person to ask for an update, despite the matter already being delayed. They also miscalculated the estate agent's fees, leaving me unexpectedly short of funds when it came to completing on my new property.
To make matters worse, my solicitor left the company just one week before my requested exchange and completion date. The firm made no effort to inform me, and I only discovered this after contacting them myself through the website's chat service. At an already incredibly stressful time, this lack of communication was unacceptable.
Overall, the transaction took around two months longer than expected, causing significant stress and leaving me facing the very real possibility of becoming homeless while waiting for completion. I would not recommend this firm based on my experience.

Utility disputes
We have recently referred a couple of cases of utility disputes to Sam Nolan. The disputes have been ongoing for a long time and we were going round in circles with the providers and the debt collection companies. Sam has been absolutely excellent in assisting with this. Responding in a timely manner, explaining the procedures fully and it's been great to have someone knowledgeable on our side. 5*
Responsive, efficient and friendly
Our solicitor Carolyn was very responsive, communicative and efficient. There were several delays in our house purchase due on the seller's side, Carolyn kept us up to date with the information that she was in receipt of and didn't tire of the near daily calls we were making at one point to check if there was any update. Her advice was very useful too throughout. I would highly recommend.
Natalie Chang's support was brilliant
Natalie Chang was a quick and genuine solicitor. She has helped me a lot and without her support I don't think we would have been able to have such a lovely smooth move. A challenging chain
I was selling my property and buying a new one. A chain can be challenging on its own, but having the buyer being uncooperative on many occasions made my case even more difficult. There were times that the chain almost fell apart but Zahra made it happen. Especially, the last two weeks before completion, she worked extremely hard (extra hours) to sort out everyting in time. When I was losing faith, Zahra always kept her professionalism and continued her job unobstructed by my distress. I am grateful that she had such high level of professionalism and empathy to put in the extra effort this chain needed to come through. Thank you Zahra!

Easy to follow on line reports and progression of sale/purchase. Zahra, who was dealing with things for us was at the end if the phone should we have any queries that I needed answers to quickly. Things progressed a little slowly in my opinion but, I think that was down to making sure everything was covered and we were protected.

Responsive and efficient
I was very happy with the service I received from Lawcomm Solicitors during my property purchase. Zahra Khan was professional, responsive, and supportive throughout the process. You should have been concerned when we raised several complaints and it fell on totally deaf ears - the entire organisation operate on a "avoid complaints" basis by dismissing the cases and dropping everything with no rational. You have been sent a complaint 2 months ago and you were not as quick to respond to it - in fact you still haven't bothered to respond! This case has been reported to the Ombudsman... Disgusting company
This was one of the most disappointing and incompetent companies we had the displeasure of ever dealing with. The service was poor from the outset and only deteriorated as the process went on.
James, whose role appeared to be bringing in new clients, ignored our queries and only became responsive once an upfront fee had been paid.
Our conveyancer, Zahra Khan, was inexperienced, unprofessional, petulant, and unnecessarily rude. She would throw a tantrum like a teenager, communication throughout was frustrating and lacked the level of competence and professionalism you would reasonably expect.
One would wonder how she got a job - but then the culture of the company was to attract those kind of characteristics from employee...
Overall, the company culture seemed disorganised and customer service was clearly not a priority. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

No Customer Service or Care
I am writing to log a formal complaint due to the experience that I have had in purchasing a Shared Ownership property with the support of 2 solicitors .
I began your services on July 29th with a woman who I would describe as rude and unhelpful . She would get frustrated when I would make contact to ask questions . I even explained to her that her manner on the phone was not appreciated. I even suggested that if her workload is too high that she can pass me on to a new solicitor. She declined .
Not long after I was informed that she was moving departments and another gentleman would be taking over . I had a call with the new solicitor and informed him the experience has not been good so far , perhaps you have this call recording . I stated that my expectation is just to be updated periodically, even if it’s an email just to say there is no update . I work in customer service and leaving people in the dark whilst 1 week or 2 weeks goes by is unacceptable. I made that clear to him and he agreed he would update me. I also shared with him that we originally were going to purchase this property 2 years ago, but the Sale was cancelled due to having cancer. The seller was dying at this point and wanted to get this done as quickly as possible . Both the seller and us made this clear to both solicitors . Unfortunately due to delays the seller did die , which led to us having to wait for probate .
Nevertheless , we managed to get to the mortgage offer stage . When discussing a date to exchange contracts . We were advised by our mortgage broker that the lease was not long enough to proceed . We pay for a service and we expect this to be thought of or known before getting to this stage. This then caused further delays where we had to chase the head lease . During this period I had to initiate contact to get updates or speak to the seller directly . I also had to ask that follow ups be done. The result is that we are still in the same place . In the last couple months I have found a new property that I wanted my solicitors assistance with . To set expectations i did send an email to inform him to pause on all work on the previous property. He did reply. I tried to contact him to discuss costs. He was unreachable by phone . I tried to contact the quote line to understand the cost of services for the current property , and got a voicemail everytime . I called the conveyance line and no one answered .
After almost 2 weeks of me and my wife trying to speak with someone from your company . We managed to get through to a colleague of his . The colleague informed us that he would contact our solicitor and ask him to speak with us . He finally called back. I shared my frustrations , and how I have not been able to reach him and that I am unhappy with the service. His response on the call was that his phone is always ringing and he has meetings. I find this unacceptable. I made that known to him. He responded by saying that he will get a new quote and decide if he will be supporting going forward. I found this threatening , as my frustrations were not acknowledged or an apology offered . I stated this to him and questioned if our relationship can be rebuilt . The conversation ended by him saying he will send over a quote and get back to us.
The quote was sent . We were advised that we need to pay another deposit , which goes toward searches, which is understandable. However he informed that we need to pay an abortion fee. I asked as I will be continuing him and pulling out the property is no fault of my own can he wave it as a courtesy , he said no. On another note on the new quote I received stamp duty was not included . I queried this as I received another quote stating we have to pay stamp
Duty. The admin said no we don’t have to pay stamp duty . I went back to the other service and they shared guidance that said we have to pay stamp
Duty . This is a 2k difference in the quote and it was inaccurate .
This experience is unacceptable and i am expected to
Pay a fee for no fault of my own . I would think twice about using Lawcomm. Customer service is not a priority.
