If you can - avoid them
We used Intercompany solutions to start a business in the Netherlands during 2021 while being based in the UK
The service of starting the company was acceptable, they were helpful most of the time during the initial process, even though often there was a lack of communication on the necessary steps and the time frames I was given were not actually respected, which did create issues for us
I made two big errors:
- paying for their service to open the business bank account. They basically forced me to open Revolut, which never worked, was a huge headache, they never refunded me for the money I lost due to the errors they made in setting it up and I ended up just opening another bank account on my own. I basically paid for them to fill in a form on Revolout (incorrectly), which just resulted in over a month of headaches and issues I had to deal with - a complete waste of money
- we decided to go with them also as our accountants for the first year, another very big mistake. The support is intermittent, any time we have a question they tell us to hire a specialist - and if there is something that could be beneficial accounting-wise they don't tell us about it until we discover it on our own and ask them explicitly.
I have complained several times and never got any resolution to any issue or any actual service that would be worth the cost paid for the accounting services. Going back I would look for another company also to open the business, and I would definitely never ever hire them as our accountants.

It's now been over 1 year, we changed accountant in January 2022, and despite requesting our accounts for 2021 regularly, via email and by phone, as of December 2022 we still haven't received them. Getting a response is often very difficult and requires multiple emails and phone calls to different people in the company. This is creating significant delays and problems for our business, which will likely force us to incur in additional costs.

Thank you for taking the time to share this detailed feedback, even more than a year after your experience with us. The issues you raise, communication gaps during incorporation, timeline overruns, the Revolut bank account that did not work for your business, accounting service that was reactive rather than proactive, and most seriously, the delayed delivery of your 2021 year-end accounts after you transitioned to a new accountant, represent mistakes across multiple parts of how we serve clients. We are sorry, and we take responsibility for them.
A few specific points deserve direct acknowledgment:
On the Revolut bank account: in 2021 we recommended Revolut to clients who could not easily open accounts with traditional Dutch banks. The setup process proved unreliable for a number of clients, including you. We no longer recommend Revolut as a primary banking solution and now work with a curated set of Dutch and EU banking partners with established account-opening processes for international entrepreneurs.
On the year-end accounts: producing and delivering a departing client's final accounts is a basic professional obligation, and a 12-month delay is not defensible. Since 2024 we have implemented a formal client offboarding process that includes a defined timeline for final accounts delivery and handover to the successor accountant.
On proactive accounting advice: an accountant who only answers questions when asked, rather than flagging opportunities and risks proactively, is not delivering what an accounting partner should. We have since restructured our ongoing accounting service around dedicated account managers responsible for proactive client communication, not just compliance filings.

I wanted to open a company and just…
I wanted to open a company and just left everything in their hands. Company and bank were opened remotely (which is nice in these Covid times).
It took around 1 week from sending my documents to having a functional company, which is much faster than I have managed in Sweden.
Title: Quick and good service, will be back.

Opening company in NL
We wanted to open a tech collaborative startup. Our shareholders are from various nationalities so it was especially useful for us that the guys are specialized in working with foreigners. Even though I am Dutch myself, it made the process of opening a company alot easier for all of us with the legalizations and paperwork.
