We visited Las Iguanas in Plymouth and were very disappointed with our meal. We ordered the Nachos for Two, but when they arrived they were cold. The guacamole appeared to come from a squeeze bottle rather than being freshly prepared, and the same seemed true of the cheese sauce, which affected the overall quality of the dish.

What was even more surprising was that the nachos contained no minced beef or substantial topping. When ordering a sharing portion of nachos, I would normally expect seasoned minced beef or a similar protein, so the dish felt lacking and poor value for money.

We also ordered a quesadilla, which was extremely disappointing. The portion size was nowhere near what I would consider a meal. It was more like a small snack – essentially a mini tortilla cut into four small pieces. For the price charged, it felt completely inadequate and left us questioning the value for money.

When a member of staff asked how everything was, I honestly shared my concerns about the guacamole and the fact that the nachos were cold. To their credit, they offered to take the dish back and reheat it, and the staff were polite throughout. However, reheating the food did not address the overall issues with the quality, portion sizes, and presentation of the meal.

Overall, the experience did not meet our expectations. Between the cold nachos, the processed-tasting toppings, the lack of substantial ingredients, and the very poor quesadilla portion size, we left feeling disappointed and unlikely to return.

The table staff were very friendly and attentive but the drinks were very weak, we had the bottomless brunch and had about 10 cocktails each but left as sober as we arrived. We couldn’t taste any alcohol apart from in the Long Island Ice Tea. Not worth the money at all. We also found a bottle top in a drink and when we told the bar staff all they did was laugh and offer to make a new drink, no apology for the fact my friend nearly choked and cut her oesophagus on the bottle top

Didn’t inform us about any offers only gave us the full price menu. Food was not good, no flavour and very small, we were still hungry afterwards. For four main courses and one soft drink each the bill with blue light discount of 20% was £80. I don’t expect to feel hungry after a main meal. Then to find out that I could have ordered a drink and main meal for £10 but we weren’t given the correct menu or informed made me feel cheated. The response was that I hadn’t asked about deals or checked on the website. I had asked about if children eat free (but decided my daughter would probably be better with a main meal) and was told that he would get me the cheapest deal for the food!

We’ve visited the Torquay branch a few times now, and it’s always been our go-to spot whenever we’re in town. But this past weekend was truly unforgettable. We popped in both Friday and Saturday night, and were lucky enough to be looked after by the incredible bar team — Will, Isabella, and Josh.

On Friday, Will and Isabella made us feel instantly welcome with their friendly energy, expert cocktail advice, and genuine warmth. Their service was flawless, and they helped set the tone for a perfect evening.

We were in Torquay for a special getaway — and we got engaged over the weekend! Naturally, we returned Saturday night to celebrate, and seeing Will and Isabella again (alongside Josh) made it feel like we were celebrating with friends. Despite how busy they were, they still took the time to chat, laugh, and make the night feel extra special.

The team works incredibly hard, and it shows — not just in the quality of the drinks and service, but in the atmosphere they create. Thank you all for being part of such a meaningful weekend. We’ll treasure the memories, and we’ll definitely be back!

Went to las iguanas with my baby in Newcastle, he was noisy and the waitress kept reassuring me that it was okay that he was being loud as I tried to shush him 🤣 she also gave him 2 manus to play with, another from the drawer and went and got him 2 plastic cups to play with too! Was really nice of her as I totally forgot toys for him 😭🤣 big error on my part. Her names Ana she was really lovely

Cocktails made by someone called boom? they were delicious. our server ashley was lovely too cant wait be back. obsessed with the fajitas.

Visited their pop up at Victoria place, 115 Buckingham palace road, London. Handy location for Victoria bus/train station. We were met by very helpful staff, ordered 2 take away meals. Food came quickly, was really tasty and very reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again.

Went and paid with CASH and was told they only take card. The sign stating this was not displayed at the front as you walk in, but was on a front side window, should be out on the board saying legal tender cash payers are not wanted.
Not going back.

Absolutely shocking.
Booked a group reservation and the wanted a deposit which was fine I paid there and then. I cancelled the booking 5 weeks prior so entitled to a refund, as you can imagine I've contacted every avenue and had no response. Even the lady who did the group booking doesn't even want to reply. Absolutely shocking.

Los Iguanas Newcastle

On walking in I felt slightly unwelcome. No real welcome at the entrance just a curt request on whether we had booked a table and a rapid request to follow the person to a table. The person who served us was patient and helpful without being overly attentive.

Our drink arrived. My friends liked their beers and was I surprised to get 2 cocktails for one which were good and strong. The food was not great. It's not the worst Mexican food I have had in the UK but overall it was not anything to write home about. The Burrito and the Enchilada were packed out with rice, something I've never seen in either of these dishes and I'm guessing saves money on a filling of beef. the sides of sour cream, guacamole and salsa were pokey and small in a single dish on the side. The rest of the plate was filled out with a leafy salad.

Personally if you have a hankering for Mexican food I would say this is not the place.

One of my favourite people and friend whom I’ve worked with for over 5 years is having her leaving do this evening at Las Iguanas Newcastle, sadly I was unable to make it due to being poorly. I called Las Iguanas Newcastle Grey Street to buy a drink for her, but as they can’t take payment over the phone, a wonderfully kind member of staff Sarah offered to give my friend a complimentary drink on my behalf. I’m both amazed at the level of customer service offered (on what sounded a very very busy night in the restaurant) and grateful for this really kind gesture, expectations exceeded - it has really made my night.
Fantastic service and as soon as I’m well, I will be there for another meal with my friend to celebrate her new exciting job. Thank you Sarah! You’re a star and you’ve made my night :)

Olivia (Birmingham las iguanas temple row) is a really good waitress, she was really welcoming the last two times we came and she even remembered us! It was nice to be served by same person twice especially

Went to the Newcastle restaurant. Staff were fabulous, really attentive and polite however, the restaurant was too noisy and an uncomfortable environment to actually eat in. Constantly being knocked by passers by and couldn't talk, as it was so loud. Can't fault the staff though, but the actual venue needs looking at. Food was lovely, but couldn't enjoy it due to the noise and movement around the table.

Only after taking an order they advised no discounts (cineworld or any other) would apply and they only offered a set menu. Having ordered, a salad for starters was clearly frozen and covered in sugary syrup or dressing I did not request. The main (chicken with amarillo sauce) was so salty it was unbearable - they did offer another dish but what’s the point, everything is covered in sauces and did not want to risk a night of constant trips to drink water. The total came at nearly £60 for 2 people - very overpriced for the kind of fast food kitchen this is.

If you want a cheat day your wallet is better off elsewhere.

Awesome food and drinks. And the waitress Gael was lovely, she can put a smile on your face even in your worst day. Loved by the kids as well.
