Howdens - Burgess Hill Anmeldelser

Our builder (BJ Cooke) has utilised the services of Howdens B-Hill for many years and has always had 5-Star Service. My wife and I are carrying out a full renovation project on a bungalow (back to brick), where none of the original internal features of the property will exist. Our builder recommended we liaise with designer Sophie at Howdens B-Hill, who has worked on many kitchen/utility and other room designs for them in the past.

In advance of our first consultation with Sophie, we provided her with ‘building reg drawings’ of our property under renovation. When we met Sophie, we immediately clicked with her; she made pages of notes on what our needs were, incl. a pantry/larder cupboard, a rise & fall cooking facility and low-level microwave/oven (for my disability needs). We also discussed our other needs for the utility room and possibly some fitted bedroom furniture.

During our first consultation, we all agreed a follow-up consultation with Sophie would be a great idea, so we could walk through the first-draft designs for the kitchen and utility room. Within a few days, we received draft designs from Sophie illustrating our kitchen and utility room design.

Sophie was extremely creative and, from our first consultation, really listened to what our ambitions were for our renovation project – she even inserted two black Labrador images on the kitchen floor plan, which reflect our two dogs.

The side wall of our kitchen is angled, which would normally reflect a complication with a kitchen design; not for Sophie, she found a suitable solution to ensure we maximise the usability and design of the kitchen area.

Over several consultations and an on-site visit, Sophie was able to assess the exact workspace she was working with, along with visualise the designs we were working with. During our second & third consultations, we added fitted bedroom furniture into the mix, which again did not phase Sophie. Sophie again listened to our brief on what we were looking to accomplish in both bedrooms, which Sophie delivered an amazing design.

With the designs for each room complete, our order was placed and now delivered safely to storage – allowing us to take advantage of Howdens ‘Trade FEST’ promotion, which Sophie recommended could save us about £4K on our order (if placed during the period of Sept to end Oct 2026).

We are sad that the design/consultation process has finished, but we really hope Sophie can/will have the time to come to site and see her designs visualised (when we get to that stage).

We cannot speak highly of Sophie and the team at Howdens B-Hill. Not only has Sophie been a great person to partner with, but so has the team behind her, incl. Bill, Mike, Penny and Samantha. We are privileged to work with such an amazing team!!! Definitely a team that goes the extra mile, every time….

I'd bought the wrong size interior doors. One call to Howdens, and they luckily had the size I needed in stock. I was able to exchange the doors so my contractor could still fit the doors for me that day. Really helpful staff. Thank you, Howdens.

Sophie Jay at Howdens has been a superb designer and link with our Builders as we have renovated our new home. From coming up with clever layouts for the kitchen & utility rooms and designing cupboards to fit into bedroom alcoves, she has exceeded our expectations. The fittings are all of high quality and watching the installation has been an eye opener.
Top quality service.

Have used Howdens for over 30 years now. Never been disappointed with their expertise and professionalism. Always deliver on time. Staff very polite and courteous. Penny(kitchen designer), always listens to the clients and goes beyond their expectations. Sam the manager, always a delight to deal with. 10 stars all round

I’ve been using Howdens for a number of years now and have always had great service. The products are good quality, and most of the items I need are in stock. If something isn’t available, it’s usually sourced very quickly, which helps keep my projects running on schedule.

More recently I’ve been dealing with Callum Ward, and we’ve completed several kitchens together. He’s been excellent to work with – he understands what I need as the builder, communicates well throughout the process, and is also great with my customers, taking the time to understand exactly what they want. That makes the whole process much smoother for everyone involved.

I’d happily recommend Howdens to other tradespeople and homeowners looking for reliable products and excellent customer service.

Very positive experience, Howdens BH who were friendly & helpful every time we called or visited. In particularly wish to thank Sophie, our designer. From first appointment with her when we had just moved in, up to the final choosing and ordering of our new kitchen. Sophie has been a steady hand, professional, respectful and knowledgeable. I was recommended Howdens kitchens for a refurb job in Brighton ‘24. I cannot rate Carly (kitchen designer) more highly. She was incredible from the get-go, we clicked immediately and she ‘got’ everything I wanted to achieve. Her design was superb - cleverly working extra gems into the awkward shape room we had. She was so bright & quick to come up with ideas to share, which I really appreciated & her contact was always welcome. She also listened to & stuck to the brief, it was bang on every time we amended anything. She was able to offer economising solutions in some areas - brilliant - while upgrading in areas of importance (loved the wine cooler in the island, hidden waste solution and space she somehow found for Everything & all the clever extras!) We added to our order with units for seating in the dining area, I’ll upload a photo. It’s a lovely contrasting colour - again works so well & a great storage solution idea by Carly, thank you. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and I particularly liked her positive, can-do approach, finding solutions not problems. I was delighted with her care, attention to detail and intelligence throughout. A bonus was that when she came to site, she was incredibly likeable, which is always important. My project manager has actually since used Carly & Howdens for another job due to how impressed we were. It’s only taken me a year to write this review 🤦🏻‍♀️ But I haven’t forgotten, as when I see the kitchen it reminds me how superb she was & the compliments I get about it are a reflection of her really. Hence why I write this long review! Carly I have recommended you guys to many contacts, and you will be my first call on the next refurb job.

Typically great howdens experience
Good price, good service and everything in stock

Howdens supplied a kitchen for me for a new build house. Carly at the Burgess Hill Branch was amazing from start to finish, helping and advising at design stage through to helping with ongoing changes and assistance with site queries

Outstanding Kitchen Design Experience!

I recently worked with Carly Ashcroft to redesign my kitchen, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From the start, she listened carefully to my needs and vision for the space, making sure every detail was considered. The design perfectly balances style and functionality, and it truly feels like the heart of our home now.
