Moved into a large new build house in Aberdeenshire that had a Howden kitchen installed, both for main kitchen and utility room. Over first year many issues, Electric Hob not connected properly , would not supply all of the induction rings. Plastic surround missing on multi-gang electrical socket inside cupboard unit. Supplied underfloor washing machine hose connected to Lamona sink was split and loose and came off and flooded floor in utility room. Installation mess under cabinets not cleaned up, lots of debris swept under units. Lamona Fridge Freezer failed after one year , it had been force crammed in against the back carcass wall with no ventilation space cut out whatsoever, missing plastic caps in unit carcasses and poor joining , missing shelves, collapsed rails on drawers in island. Lamona Extractor hood light bulb failed( £35) ridiculous cost for replacement. Lack of supervision and Quality control all round and poorly coordinated electrical , plumbing and joinery skills were evident. This Kitchen alone cost a lot of money, as I saw the original quote, but it was obviously installed by Howden trade cowboys and I had to rectify so many installation issues when I moved in. Skirting kick boards under units loose were not held in or loose, broken clips. Poor under sink storage, no shelves lots of fitment holes left un-blanked. Loose blanking cap on sink. Mixer Tap lever installed that would not rotate back fully due to proximity of sink wall. The kitchen build parts were generally good quality and Neff Units supplied excellent , but quality of installation totally third rate. Howden's shoud be doing a final check to ensure installation is of a satisfactory quality and not working with cowboys.

Ashleig is the best kitchen planner I have ever come across. She is very competent and helpful. She has designed several kitchens for me and goes the extra mile every time.

We worked together choosing colours, worktops and hardware and her knowledge helped me make the best decisions. The kitchen itself had no issues at time of installation with everything as it should be.

I've been working with Howdens for years, and I'm still pleasantly surprised. Friendly atmosphere, solid support at every stage, respect and elimination of problems, if, which is absolutely rare, they arise.

Joiner recommended Paulina and Howdens at Anne Street, Aberdeen for our kitchen refurbishment and they didn't disappoint. Paulina was great and came up with some very practical ideas and was good at helping me choose matching worktops and flooring. Also Howdens kitchens, although they can take longer to fit (as drawers etc have to be constructed and doors fitted to carcasses), they have many options for layout and cabinet size - much more than their competitors. I went for one of their more expensive ranges and haven't been disappointed with the quality. They offer lots of practical storage options and even have larder cupboards so you can hide away large coffee machines etc. Only criticisms were they didn't have the full range of flooring samples for matching to kitchen units available at the branch, their quartz worktops were more expensive than competitors (I sourced mine elsewhere) and there were a couple of hiccups with incorrect items delivered but the replacements arrived within a week to 10 days. Overall I would certainly recommend Howdens for designing and supplying a new kitchen.

What made my experience great was the outstanding service from Matthew Irving and Steven leckie,they were quite simply off the charts

Had my new kitchen fitted in November 2022 and was initially happy, however have had several issues since then and would not recommend Howdens. Cabinet doors are damaged, cutlery drawer front keeps falling off, metal poles in pan drawers keep breaking, freezer drawers cracked, there is a dent in the end boarrd, we have frequent pools of water in bottom of fridge, cabinet doors have come away from fridge and freezer, there is a chip on the induction hob and the sink has scratches. The quality seems lacking and it is incredibly disappointing after such a short space of time.
