i have been buying Hotter shoes online and in store for MANY years. I do not know what has happened to this company.
They had a big " sale" promotion.
I ordered online, they took my money immediately, of course.
Days later , after hearing nothing other than a single e mail confirming my order but nothing was received, I sent an e mail to ask where my order was and only then told that there was " no stock" and no plans for new stock.
I demanded my money back and was told that I would have to wait 10 days for a refund. WHY when they took my money immediately while knowing they had no stock.
DREADFUL customer service.

I have recently replaced a pair of Gravity II shoes and, compared to the last pair I bought (years ago), the quality is appalling. For £89 I expect better. I also expect that they shouldn't cause foot pain and that they are fit for purpose. These are not. The support on the underside of the foot is non-existent and it is clear that costs are being cut. Avoid.

Update: I have found out that Woolovers now own Hotter and that the CEO of Woolovers does not want his e-mail address publicised - I bet he doesn't.

Love hotter shoes nut really surprised & disappointed how the sizes vary. Also the refund process is really archaic takes forever to get the money back in your account, which puts me off purchasing in future. Come on hotter improve your refund system it can’t take that long surely?!

My partner ordered two pairs of Hotter shoes in the sale from the Chichester shop. They were delivered very quickly however the metallic pair had a lot of places on the shoes where there was no metallic. We returned them to Chichester and they agreed they were bad and sent them back for an exchange. The new pair arrived today and although they were better than the first pair there was still an area on one shoe where the metallic was missing. She phoned customer services and they said there was nothing they could do except give a refund. My partner likes the shoes so will keep them and try and resolve the problem herself. In the sale they were £55 Hotter would not even give a reduction.

Extremely disappointed that despite clicking unsubscribe on their zillions of marketing emails that i keep being sent emails that i never opted in to.

Even phoned to get myself unsubscribed but am still receiving daily emails.

Totally unacceptable and in breach of data protection regulations.

Brought some lovely wide fitting boots from hotter online they came with in a couple of days also brought a brush for them to keep them clean they are so comtable would always buy shoes and boots sandles from this website when they have a sale

I have been to both the Kingston Upon Thames and the Eastbourne stores and the chairs that customers sit on to try the shoes are DISGUSTING!! Both stores are the same. There is gorilla tape on them and the fake leather is peeling off creating a health hazard. I asked if they were going for the shabby chic look but the staff said they have been waiting for new chairs for many months. I took photos. Considering the cost of the merchandise I think you can do better Hotter. The staff were lovely.

I have not had any dealings with Hotter Shoes for at least 12 months and did not agree to receive mailings of any sort. This was fine until early November 2025, when I suddenly started receiving marketing emails. On 17 November I told the company to remove all of my personal data from their systems and I was assured that my account (oddly I had only ever checked out as a guest and therefore never set up an account with log in & password) had been closed on 27 November. Nevertheless, I continue to receive daily marketing emails and despite repeated efforts, I have not been able to get these to stop. The latest arrived this morning (23 December 2025).

I told Hotter that I will not 'Unsubscribe' to unsolicited emails, as I feared that their system may have been hacked, and blocking the address would simply stop me from seeing the messages, it would not ensure that they no longer retain my data.

I see from other Trustpilot reviews that I am not alone. I have today reported Hotter to the ICO as more than 30 days have elapsed since I told them to stop marketing.

I do NOT recommend this company as it clearly has no respect for customer data or the laws surrounding its use and I will continue to fight to have my details expunged from its systems.

UPDATE (7 Jan 2026). I was reassured by Hotter customer services on 23 Dec 25 that it's safe to unsubscribe, which is what I did when the next email arrived. So why on earth has more marketing material landed this morning? I have unsubscribed again, blocked the email and deleted. Disgraceful.

I have bought hotter shoes for the last decade... but the most recent pair are a disaster. No longer a wide fitting, leather tops that simply will not polish (I am ex-forces and can bull a pair of shoes - just not these) and they leaked through the sole from day one.

Previously great company with great shoes. I have bought my shoes in the shops, then online for years. No more
Cheaply made, poor quality and takes over a month for refund.

I bought some shoes in the past from Hotter in the US that were satisfactory and it’s very difficult to find flat wide-width leather boots so I went through the hassle of having boots shipped to the US and brought to Canada since Hotter does not ship to Canada. I’ve had a horrendous experience trying to get information about an order I made over the phone. I was charged for the order a month ago but never received any email confirmation of it nor the boots ordered. I spent endless amount of time on the phone with three customer service representatives who could not find the order and promised to get back to me and did not. The first customer service person was astoundingly rude, and was the one that did not send the email confirmation for the phone order she generated. The other two reps were nice but ultimately unhelpful and did not follow up as promised. I have just emailed the company and received a prompt reply, but the issue is not resolved at this point a month later. Do not recommend!

Wow! Talk selling your information

I bought one pair of shoes earlier in the year from hotter and now I am getting post, phone calls and emails nearly every day from multiple companies who all came to be their Sister companies and no matter how many times I ask, I do not seem to be able to unsubscribe or be removed from these lists. The shoes were great and yet, I wish I’d never bought them and will never buy from these guys again.

Avoid this company Hotter has gone downhill since it was taken over. They are greedy and the quality and choice of their shoes is so poor.
Delivery and refunds take ages and now they are deducting. £7 -45 for postage!
As a long-standing customer I thought I would try one more time . Purchased two pairs of shoes both were poor quality and badly fitting so I returned them - saw no point calling customer care because it was clear that exchange was not the answer . Zips on trainers would not even move when on or off my fit -stiff and the other pair of court shoes were so baggy, I could not walk in them ! Customer care woman was condescending trying to put the blame on me the customer for not ringing them to arrange an exchange.
Why exchange if the product is so poor. I will go elsewhere .

Twice told that the boots I ordered in November were out of stock with delivery date pushed back and back first into December and now January - despite the website showing the boots in stock when I ordered them and continuing to show they are in stock. It is very wrong to mislead customers money in this way. I have requested a refund and and now told it may take several weeks for the refund to be credited.

I placed an order from their oulet on 14th November. Hadn't received it by 1st December so rang customer service number. I was told the order would be dispatched that day. It is now 8th December and still no sign of my order. Rang customer service again today and was told the shoes are now out of stock. I said I would like a refund which will now take 7-10 working days. Not happy and Very disappointing with Hotter . You have let me down badly.

Be warned!! Their website is totally misleading when it comes to refunds stating that £2.95 is deducted for returns. I paid £43.70 for a pair of boots which were too big and had to be returned They refunded me £36.25 and therefore, I lost out on £7.45. When queried they fobbed me off with the following: Evri costs, packaging costs, the value of the boots had been reduced etc. I think they made it up as they went along. Hotter Shoes are the most mean-spirited company I've ever had to deal with and will NEVER order from them again. A lot of customers are pensioners so do be careful.

Actually 0 as I haven’t had my order despite having paid for it and have had no luck with the delivery service. So instant Hotter on a line that purported to be open 24/7 but is not manned at night so that statement is untrue. I haven’t about 6 hours to date trying to track the parcel I urgently need and as an old lady who is a good customer and expects decent service I am not very happy!

Have had several pairs of hotter shoes and boots over the years particularly Shake. However the pair I have just bought are far inferior to the others purchased. The quality of fit and material are nothing like my other pairs. They are stiff, feel uncomfortable and the soles and innards of sole have been reduced in thickness.
I object to paying the high postage only to find I have in fact paid for the inclusion of 2 unwanted, unsolicited advertising booklets weighing 165g!!!
I will not be purchasing anymore hotter footwear. What a shame

I’m extremely disappointed with Hotter. I bought a pair of shoes and had them delivered to my workplace — I never provided my home address. Despite this, I suddenly started receiving catalogues at my home address from Hotter and even from other companies like Woolovers. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious questions about how my personal data is being handled and shared.
I did not consent to any marketing, nor did I give permission for my details to be passed on to third parties. Hotter needs to take data privacy seriously and learn to protect customers’ information properly. I won’t be purchasing from them again.

fitted me out in record time with a wonderful pair of water-proof boots which fit
brilliantly and crucially, were not made with slave labour in China but
at a properly managed factory here in the UK.

Thank heavens we still have a few decent businesses left like Hotter
which priotitise genuine customer service
and also products made in the UK..
