Last week I made a multi-THOUSAND dollar purchase at the Hom Furniture store in Bloomington.
Because of a circumstance UNKNOWN to me at the time we scheduled our delivery, I needed to make a very minor adjustment in the delivery time frame. Same day, just a slightly different time.
I was told flat out, no. I would not be allowed to deviate from the schedule, even if only for an hour or so.
The explanation was that they load their trucks TWO DAYS IN ADVANCE. You can not convince me that, in the name of good customer service, they couldn’t have just slid my chair to one side for a couple deliveries, and then brought it to me. That’s what a company interested in good customer relations and who wanted to salvage a several thousand sale and commission, would have done.
They didn’t.
I’m now in the market for a new chair.
