My wife and I were looking to put together a system based around a turntable. After a lot of research we settled on the Rega System One and were pleased to discover that not only did HiFi Gear stock them but also had one set up for demo purposes.

We popped along to the store and had a great experience. Both Jamie and Charlie were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable, but not pushy. After listening to the System One we decided it was what we were after so bought one from them. With a copy of Wish You Were Here thrown in, we were very pleased!

There were a couple of very minor issues with the System on set up (Rega's problem, not HiFi Gear's) but a quick call & visit to the store and they were resolved with no quibble.

Thoroughly recommended, it's a small store with loads of kit and an excellent team. Five stars!

I visited the shop in Hereford to buy a Rega Brio amplifier and to have a new cartridge fitted to my turntable. Throughout communications - from initial phone call to conversations in person - I found the staff REALLY helpful, never pushy, totally knowledgeable and fair in advice and pricing. They sorted the turntable cartridge, also giving it a quick service and I'm really happy with the amp. Just a really good shop and great service. It's about an hour's drive for me but it's definitely where I will be going for any future upgrades to the sound system.

Auditioning at HiFi Gear illustrates the importance of trusting one’s own ears when investing in high value hifi equipment, rather than relying too much on other people’s subjective assessment in online videos.

I nearly made that mistake - going in with a preconceived idea of which amplifier I would purchase without actually hearing it. But with Jamie’s help, knowledge and patience, I auditioned CD and streamed music through three shortlisted amplifiers for an hour over several cups of coffee. Although my original choice of amplifier sounded great, it was (to my own ears) significantly overshadowed by the Rega Elex Mk4, which is the one I purchased and is now connected up at home.

Perhaps an over used assessment in a hifi review, but honestly, listening to my music collection is like hearing it again for the first time. What the Rega is revealing in my music is nothing short of extraordinary.

i have shopped here on a, couple of occasions. Jamie was absolutely brilliant helping me with purchasing my items. 1st set of speakers areived damaged in transit, but within the hour i got a phone call to reassure the problem would be resolved and even with stocking issues the replacement was dispatched the following day. would highly recommend shopping here
