I’ve recommended Hansard for my clients for over 20 years as an IFA and am proud to state that my clients have benefited greatly in their retirement savings goals. When plans have had to change, they’ve had the flexibility to access funds, while staying on track building their accumulations. The recent upgrade of the Adviser and Client portal still has some bugs to work out, but that’s expected. Still, it hasn’t affected my ability to get results for my clients. Properly informed and advised by a qualified IFA, the products do what they’re designed to achieve. I’ve recommended products from other Isle of Man life companies and Hansard is among the best in a top tier offshore jurisdiction.

i am experiencing bad here too 5 years contributing and its negative for 2-3 premiums always. dis appointing . when you surrender they will remove 20 months premium contribution :(
very sad, disappointing really.
Very poor customer service.
Unfortunately my experience with Hansard International is that they are very difficult to communicate with (emails to their client services, client information and payments email addresses almost always do not receive a response unless you also copy the complaints and/or legal teams).They also do not process payments promptly or in line with their terms and conditions. We had 2 life assurance policies for which the maturity payments were delayed despite significant efforts from our side.
When you complain about the poor service and delays they will acknowledge that there have been problems but offer nothing in the way of improvement or compensation for loss of opportunity. The standard response from the complaints team usually seems to end with a statement that this is their final correspondence on the matter and if you are unhappy then you should contact the Financial Ombudsman at the Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading. One assumes they hope that most will not have the time or energy to do so … however, I chose to do so twice and eventually received over £500 in interest and payments for inconvenience so it is worth doing.
I would never again invest money with Hansard nor would I recommend them to anyone else.
Swindlers
I’ve been trying to get my surrender value for three months now, but the customer service has stopped responding. Despite completing two KYC calls and filling out dozens of forms, I keep being told it's under 'final review.' These swindlers keep changing the goalposts and are intentionally unclear about processing times.
Not performing and buggy platform
Already having my portfolio for more than 5 years and It has never reached a positive number.
Recently they changed their system and they are not able to :
1.Deduct money from my account
2. No way for me to see my card details, nor pay for the missing contributions
My portfolio value is affected bcs of their incapability to fix issues for 2 months already .
Additionally, they system is very buggy and often under maintenance mode.
Not recommending.

I was sold a Hansard retirement policy when in the Far-East 23 years ago. Although I had stopped paying into the plan, the sum invested was locked till the end of the term. I contacted Hansard recently to update my contact information and check value of plan (it still has 2-years to run). I received a curt email to say the policy has lapsed and that due to GDPR requirements they no-longer have my details on record. All paid in money gone. No received communication to last held address, no transparency, a throw-away response (last line just saying "I understand this may not be the response you may have been looking for.") with no explanation due to a convenient way of saying my data was now deleted. The policy still had 2-years to run! It was the kind of response that wouldn't be out of place from a scam to get out of paying you back anything you had invested. I was shocked this could happen so apparently easily.

I also invested in a Hansard Retirement Scheme in 2011 and I only lost money. Fortunately I stopped the payments in 2016 otherwise I would have lost thousands. I'm really furious because I can't take my money out for another 14 years. I could have put this money into tech shares instead. Watch out for these scammers- they will really screw you over with high fees. These days they go under the name of Blacktower Financial Management Group.
not a safe place for your money
I echo the comments below. We were persuaded by a financial advisor to open a retirement savings account with Hansard International as the best way to save money.
We thought being registered in Isle of Man we'd not be vulnerable to financial skullduggery - but we too were losing money on investments and then lost all the first 2 years payments we had paid in to charges levied by Hansard. Hansard say their small print permits all this. Avoid at all costs based on our experience.

Invested my hard earned money 43000USD in from 2014 to 2016 year and now Hansard denying paying back to me even the amount Invested and saying it is lapsed without value so un ethical attitude and cant trust this company at all and once they are offering 5000usd as a compensation instead of paying back money invested atleast forget about interest and profits so one need to be very cautious about this so called finanical institute please

Do not throw your money away. I was miss sold an unregulated 'pension' scheme by a certain Rob Porter in Singapore. It never made a penny, it lost money hand over fist year on year to the point where i had to withdraw what i could to save at least something. I have had to accept that the rest of the locked in funds i will lose due to the ongoing fees each month. AVOID THESE CRIMINALS AT ALL COST.
I was sold an independent retirement…
I was sold an independent retirement contract by a supposed IFA who 'disappeared'. A police investigation in Singapore was started but not followed through. Hansard should not have allowed him to sell me a contract. I have 20K investments over 23 years and no growth on the investments - the fees eat into any growth. I am waiting another 9 years until I can - hopefully - take out my money. I was told by Hansard that I have to wait until the completion of the 23 year contract :(
Don't count on getting your money back
More than thirty days have elapsed since I was informed that my request for a full surrender was complete. Each time I've called over the past three weeks I've been told that it is under 'final review', despite having to complete two KYC calls. The customer service team keep changing the goalposts, and are purposefully untransparent about processing times.
Worrying opacity by Hansard, I have serious doubts that I have been let down
I have serious doubts that I have been let down by Hansard. 27 days ago I transferred funds to make an investment, I lost all visibility on the funds. On the 20th they declined to formalize my investment and promised Hansard to reimburse me, however after 7 days I have not received a refund of my funds. The opacity and delay with which Hansard conducts its processes could be indicative of fraud.
I was missold a private retirement fund…
I was missold a private retirement fund policy by an IFA, not Hansards fault, but they did allow the IFA to sign the contract with a different company allowing them to dodge liability, so in my view Hansard lack ethics.
I can’t find a single reputable IFA to work with the policy and looking at it myself the units available are limited and most underperformed benchmarks. My advice buyer beware and don’t tie yourself into any long term policies with surrender fees (they are extortionate)!
