Two tyres fitted,balanced and all sorted in less than an hour by a decent polite guy.I have only one small complaint and its not about the job,that was perfect,its about not being able to order 2 more of the same tyres less than 2 days later and finding them missing from the Halfords stock lists and i really want all 4 tyres the same.They are Yokahama Bluearth es32,215/60/R16.

Had front and rear dashcam fitted in Exeter Halfords.
Unfortunately the rear camera installation has caused me no end of problems, upholstery in rear was left oily , fittings not put back properly, and grommet in tailgate wiring was broken , appreciate this must be difficult to install - but this was poor

They provided the most competitive price out of 3 mobile tyre fitters.As I didn't need my car in the following days I was able to wait a couple of days.
Their tracking system worked well & the fitter was very friendly & courteous
Would definitely recommend but would also advise to check when they could call out.
PS. My only criticism is I meant to ask the fitter if the tyre could have been repaired so if you are calling Halfords remember that pitfall.

Still awaiting Customer Service to get any response from Avon Tyres, sent photos to them and just give you the run around, emailed Henry Birch CEO but that email just goes to a executive office which is based at the same customer service building, they think there terms and conditions override the Consumer Rights Act 2015, IT DOES NOT!!
They don’t get back to you , you have to chase and never happens.
My next port of call is a small claims court, and there I can show a judge constant breech of this 2015 Act Halfords do constantly.

Bought 4 new tyres in November 2024
Done little mileage , been told at recent MOT that the tyres are defective as cracks running half the length of each tyre, this is happening inside the valley between the tread.
Spoke to customer services and they after a week of telling me to ring back as they can’t speak to anyone at the hub , then stated that they will remove all four tyres and send them back to Avon for review, and not provide me with a replacement so effectively grounding my car for weeks or months depending on the report.
Halfords are in breech of this:

Consumer Rights Act 2015. The law states that a remedy (repair or replacement) must be provided without significant inconvenience to the consumer. Leaving a customer with a vehicle trapped on bricks or requiring you to buy a whole new set of tyres out-of-pocket while they wait weeks for a report is arguably a breach of that requirement.

I am still awaiting there reply on the sent photos of each tyre again another 48 hours plus response wait time.
Which again they won’t and again I have to ring to chase.

So my advice buy somewhere else as your only going to spend possible double replacing tyres with a lot of use left in them as they take no responsibility or make it as difficult as possible for you to get things sorted quickly

And considering they are in breach of Consumers Right Act.
Maybe taking the responsibility and exchange the tyres and then take it up with Avon, without holding the customer to ransom

They rounded the bolts on my wheel and left the tyre with out fitting or balancing etc, and said I would have to go to an auto center for an extra charge, booked into my local garage who said yeah they always do that

Halfords offered a good competitive price for supplying and fitting two tyres to our caravan in North Norfolk . Mobile fitting at our home was offered within two working days, and communication both via online tracking and phone call on the day was very good. Tyler called me half an hour before driving to the house. He was friendly, professional and well organised, fitted both tyres promptly and disposed of the old ones.

Had 4 new tyres fitted (over £500) 3 of the 4 leaked slowly and 1 of them would be flat on the floor by the end of the day. Had an awful experience with customer service trying to get it rectified. Took 4 visits overall for it to be finally sorted. Customer service was useless throughout, telling us to go to other garages, there’s nothing more they can do, telling us they’ve escalated the matter and they would get back to us within 7 days. Over 2 months later and constant chasing from our side… Nothing.
Absolutely appalling customer service. Would not recommend to anyone.
Go else where and save yourself the hassle.

Paid just over £500 for four tyres/wheels fitted by Halfords on 28 June. Within two weeks, they were repeatedly losing pressure, with one tyre going completely flat.

It took FOUR separate visits before the issue finally appeared to be resolved. The constant back and forth, phone calls and chasing was ridiculous.

We even told Halfords we were driving six hours to Cornwall, yet they failed to resolve the issue before we left and then told us to find another garage ourselves. We later discovered their mobile service didn’t even cover Cornwall — despite us repeatedly telling them where we were going.

I raised a formal complaint and was told I’d receive a response within 7 working days. I didn’t. After chasing on X, I finally received a completely irrelevant response (3 weeks later) about wheel alignment that didn’t even address my complaint. I replied asking them to clarify — and they then closed my case automatically.

Problems can happen. What is completely unacceptable is how useless Halfords’ customer service is at dealing with them. No ownership, no communication, contradictory information and endless chasing.

Over £500 spent and weeks of hassle later, I have absolutely no confidence in Halfords and would not recommend them to anyone.

A975B008643 Had Halfords fit tyres on the drive , unfortunately their van left a large oil stain on my drive and despite numerous promises to look into the matter nothing happens for the department, looks like a small claims court claim is the only way to deal with Halfords!!

Really wished I had read these reviews before booking them to fit a dash cam.
1. Having paid £75 for a fitting (which took less than an hour), we had an all day appointment. Even AM or PM costs extra.
2. Technician said very little, so we let him get on with it, after he turned down an offer of refreshments.
3. No explanation of anything about how to use it.
4. When asked if the SD card was formatted, he declined to help.
5. When asked to help sync camera with phone, he again declined, apparently stating he was not contractually obliged to help. Refused to help, twice.

Don’t use these guys, especially if you are not tech savvy. Dashcams are tech reliant, and if you use Halfords you run the risk of ending up with a useless camera.

Appalling service, they cancelled my appointment out of hours and the night before they were due to come and fit two tyres. AVOID at all costs

Had two new rear tyres fitted by a mobile fitter, wish I had never had bothered. After driving the car they clearly hadn't been balanced properly as I was getting a large amount of vibration. Took my car to an actual proper reputable tyre place and they said that the fitter had slapped some weights on randomly, not checked them and both were extremely unbalanced. So thanks for wasting my time and money Halfrauds, I will never be back. If I could rate a 0, I would.

Disappointed. Waited in all day for Halfords mobile fitters to turn up and fit 4 new tyres. Found afterwards on driving the car wheels were way out of balance. Called and complained and waited in another morning for another Halfords fitter to rebalance the wheels again which made no improvement. After three weeks of almost daily complaining Halfords eventually agreed to pay for the rebalancing at another tyre place who told me all 4 wheels were still not balanced properly. The garage did another rebalance on all 4 and car now drives completely smooth and free of vibration.

Had 4 new tyres fitted to my car by Charlie. Work completed within timescale given. First class job received.

I have now used Halfords mobile service twice and both times the engineers have been first rate. Tom from Sheffield rang in advance to advise he was on his way and he did a great job of fitting a dash cam and showing me how to use it! Highly recommended

I ordered and paid for two tyres with moblile fitting service at my home (£500+). The tyre fitter turned up on time however he was unable to fit his 22mm socket on to the first wheel nut because it had become slightly swollen with age. This is a common issue on many Land Rover and certain Ford vehicles. At this point he gave up and said that he couldn't complete the job and that he would leave the 2 tyres with me. He then left without making any further effort to do the work.
I took the 2 tyres to my local tyre place who managed to remove the wheel nuts without issue and fitted the tyres, at a cost of £90 to me. When I approached Halfords to discuss the matter they told me that the 'fitting' was actually free of charge anyway and so no refund was due. Because the customer pays upfront online, this company feels free to do what they wish from that point onwards.
Their customer service is dreadful and I would go as far as to say that for me, this feels like dealing with a scam company. Never again!

​If you need tyres urgently, avoid Halfords Mobile Expert. Tyres that were advertised and booked for next-day fitting ended up taking nearly a week, leaving my car immobilised.

​The mobile technician who finally came out on Friday was exceptional punctual, polite, and completely professional. He deserves 5 stars.

However, Halfords' backend operations and depot management were an absolute nightmare:

- ​First Booking: Rescheduled because the technician's van broke down. Breakdowns happen, which is fair enough.
​
- Second Booking: I took time off work to wait for the rescheduled afternoon slot. When I called support during my window, they explicitly assured me the driver was on Job #9 and heading to me (#10) next. Nobody ever showed up.

​- The Stock Reality: When I called back late that evening to ask where the driver was, support revealed the depot never even ordered or received my tyres in the first place despite telling me hours earlier the driver was on the way with them.

- ​False Claims by Centre Management: When I raised a formal complaint (Case 01285157), the Centre Manager claimed the technician “attempted to contact me to confirm the booking would have to be rolled over, however unsuccessful.” This was completely fabricated no one ever called me; I had to call customer support twice myself after being left stranded.

​Halfords eventually admitted the tyre order failed for both previous bookings, had to switch suppliers to "Bond", and issued a £50 goodwill voucher after initially trying to close the complaint.

​Top marks to the technician who did the physical work on Friday, but avoid this service unless you are happy to wait over a week for phantom stock and deal with managers making up excuses

We used Halfords Mobile Tyres on 25 July to replace the two rear tyres on my wife's Mercedes CLS, at a cost of £457.76.

The fitter, Chris, left a black plastic Halfords wheel chock underneath one of the front wheels. We were unaware it was there and, when the car was subsequently moved, the chock shattered beneath the wheel.

We cleared up the broken pieces, not realising that the sharp plastic had damaged the inner shoulder of the front tyre.

Fortunately, the car was due a service and MOT with Mercedes shortly afterwards. During their inspection, Mercedes found that the damage had exposed the cords in the tyre to a dangerous level, making it an MOT failure and requiring immediate replacement.

Because the damage was on the inside shoulder, it was not readily visible. Had the car not been due its service, my wife could easily have continued driving on a dangerously damaged tyre without knowing. The potential consequences of a blowout at speed are obvious.

The replacement tyre cost us approximately another £200.

So, having paid Halfords £457.76 to replace two tyres, their fitter's failure to remove a wheel chock ultimately cost us a third tyre and, far more seriously, left my wife driving a car with a dangerously damaged front tyre.

Competitive price for replacement battery plus fitting. Easy to book, early appointment, worked completed on my drive. Mechanic (Tyler, who also fitted 4 tyres recently) was excellent. Notification of arrival time, very efficient and very polite and friendly. He explained the process and answered several other questions about Halfords Mobile service. All round, an excellent service. I would happily recommend.
