Don't Sleep on GovTech Academy
I joined the program to get some assistance and structure with passing the CompTIA Security+ exam as well as job application and interview help. The program provided me with immensely helpful study materials including books, practice exams, live content review calls, instructional videos, and links I'd never heard of for mass practice questions. To top it all off, I got a voucher for the test, so I didn't have to pay for it. Now having my certification, I'm using more of their resources to begin building out my resume and tailoring my LinkedIn so I can get interviews and ultimately a job. The program has been amazing thus far and there's still more in store for me.

Huge shoutout to Dae’Shawn Taylor for sharing this experience 🙌
Stories like this really highlight how impactful the right support system can be—especially when preparing for something as challenging as Security+. Having access to structured materials, live guidance, and even a voucher removes a lot of the common barriers people face.
It’s also great to see you continuing to use the resources beyond certification—building your resume, refining LinkedIn, and preparing for interviews is exactly what turns a cert into real career momentum.
Wishing you the best as you move into the next phase and start landing those opportunities 🚀

A Community That Actually Shows Up
From the moment I joined, I felt genuinely welcomed. Not in a performative way, but in a way you can actually feel. The encouragement here is consistent and sincere, and it makes a real difference when you're navigating the pressures of career growth, career change, and personal development.
The support I've received has been really well-rounded. It started with practical, hands-on help like resume refinement, LinkedIn optimization, and guidance on positioning myself in a competitive field. But it didn't stop there. What surprised me most was how naturally that support extended into real life advice. The kind of candid, honest perspective that's hard to find and easy to appreciate. Having access to that in one place is rare.
Whether I came with a technical question, a career concern, or just needed a second opinion on something, the response was always thoughtful and useful. It's the kind of community you find yourself recommending without hesitation because you know it delivers. If you're on the fence, let this review be the one that pushes you to join.

Solid program for beginners trying to get into IT
I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt like this one was worth it. I went into GovTech Academy not really knowing what to expect, and honestly I was a bit nervous since I’m new to IT. But it turned out to be a really good experience overall.
The way they break things down makes it easier to understand, especially if you don’t have a technical background. There were times I had to go back and rewatch certain parts, but that’s normal when you’re learning something new. The instructors were helpful and didn’t make you feel dumb for asking questions, which I appreciated.
What I liked most was that it wasn’t just theory. They actually focus on stuff you will use. It gave me a better idea of what working in IT is really like and helped me feel more confident moving forward.
It’s not some magic shortcut. You still have to put in the work, but if you are serious about getting into IT, this is a solid place to start.

I want to take a moment to express my…
I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible coaches at the GovTech Academy. Their unwavering support and encouragement gave me the motivation I needed to reset my mindset and fully embrace the wealth of knowledge I was acquiring. Last August, I decided to take my exam, but things didn’t go as smoothly as I had hoped. I found myself rescheduling multiple times—first in November, then again in January and February. Just as I was poised to take the exam, it was unexpectedly canceled, and not by my own doing.
With a mix of determination and faith, I pushed through the uncertainty and decided to reschedule for March 4. But fate had other plans, ultimately leading me to settle on March 10. I held on to the belief that God had already mapped out my path, and I took comfort in it. My personal mantra for this journey was "You've Got This," and I truly embraced that spirit.
On the morning of the exam, I was wide awake by 3:30 a.m. and committed to reviewing all essential materials, including Domains, PQS, and PBQs. For two solid months, I dedicated myself to intense studying, immersing myself in practice questions from the Sec+ Study Group and diligently reading every single day. The effort showed; my Sec+ book became tattered and worn, a testament to the countless hours I had spent preparing.
As I finally stood up to leave after completing my exam, an overwhelming rush of emotion hit me. I couldn’t help but exclaim, "Thank you, Jesus!" Tears streamed down my face as I struggled to collect myself for a couple of minutes before stepping outside. This was not just about passing an exam; it was the culmination of dedication, resilience, and faith. Now, with this milestone behind me, I am filled with excitement for the next chapter of my journey and eager to pursue my next certification, knowing I can conquer whatever comes next.

The program is overall very well structured and everyone is very accommodating and welcoming. I haven’t fully gotten everything I could out from the program but I’m already getting so much attention from recruiters after getting three free revised resumes. The accountability partner is also a very nice feature that definitely helps.
