Despite membership card problems (computer not recognising number even though I paid my membership on the previous day at the same till) the staff were great. Rosie deserves a pay rise or a day off as the return and exchange was a pretty full on due to till problems. Still, made for an entertaining morning.

Called in to Go Outdoors “ Team Valley” to pick up some items I checked they had in stock. Unfortunately at the till my phone was completely flat when I came to pay and I rarely bring bank cards out these days. So the store assistant a lad called Finlay very kindly offered to see if he could get a usb for me to be able to pay. I have to say it was a very thoughtful suggestion as I had made quite a detour to drive there and it also would have saved me from trying to charge my phone in the car which I probably would not have done. I have to say he was extremely helpful he called up his colleague Pedro who was straight up the stairs to offer me his. Honestly what a great couple of lads with the right attitude to help customers I was super impressed. Great to see above and beyond put straight into action a small gesture that goes a long way. I thought I would return that gesture by giving them feedback as I feel they deserve to be recognised.

Served by Finlay at Gateshead, Team Valley. He was great. So knowledgeable about fishing and was able to set us up with everything we needed.

First time I have shopped in Go Outdoors,had a pleasant experience looking around,good variety of products at a reasonable price.I bought an item and asked if they give Veteran discount,I received 10% discount.Will visit again.

Found a lush coat, staff member Terry and manager on hand to detag it so could try it on without hunching over. Trusted me to not abscond, as left tag off while i went downstairs to shop some more. GREAT SERVICE!

What a joke of a shop staff are clueless no one approaches to help you then the staff you eventually find don’t have a clue about products that the shop sells

Honestly, what lovely people!!! - Andy in the footwear department knows his stuff, easily happily handling multiple customers all at the same time, giving great advice and Alex on the cashier desk is always super friendly and helpful.

Whilst making a return of an online purchase and then subsequently buying some Bridgedale socks, I encountered two really helpful young men (customer sales) who were a pleasure to deal with. (Socks also excellent.) So, a very happy customer!

Julie was very helpful, patient and knowledgeable without being too pushy. When I asked about price matching a competitor she was able to accommodate. First class service. The guy on the till was also very helpful. I would use this company again.

i entered the store very confused about what i was wanting and John paul also known as JP , came up to me and my boyfriend and was very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. He was very considerate and at good at welcoming us and overall he helped me find what i was looking for . He is a very lovely kind man , thank you so much JP

Went to the Gateshead store this evening. Had a bit of an issue with my loyalty card not being recognised. Terry sorted this out for me without issue. I would highly recommend this go outdoors store, and Terry as an individual if you are looking at the fishing gear. Top marks. Thank you.

My daughter and I spent ages in Go Outdoors in order to find the right hiking shoes and rucksack for her adventure to New Zealand....Anthony and Max were incredibly helpful. They knew their products and helped us to narrow the search down to what we really needed. There was no pressure just genuine support and it was really appreciated. Thank you.

The first tent I bought was faulty and had to be returned
The store didn’t have a replacement
I ordered the second tent on line
I never received it after 8 day I called to be told it’s lost or stolen by the delivery company
I would have to receive a refund which could take 5-10 days and then they couldn’t order the 3rd tent I would have to do that myself
So very disappointed with the whole experience not only did my first camping experience get ruined and only last one night
I missed the second as I didn’t have a tent even though it was paid for but was stolen or misplaced by the delivery company

Highly disappointed I would find it very hard to use go outdoors again

awesome customer service, friendly staff who are very knowledgeable and happy to help out when I was picking out fishing gear, definitely recommend getting equipment for the outdoors here and highly recommend spending the extra £5 on the yearly membership as it pays off pretty much immediately.

I've just returned to coarse fishing after many years away from the bank and visited Fishing Republic in GoOutdoors Team Valley, Gateshead to look for a good, all round rod for both river and still water float fishing. Thankfully Darren was on shift. He talked me through the various options available in terms of quality, pros and cons, and price. His expert and friendly advice completely helped me to choose a fabulous new rod and reel.

I shop both online and instore. Your Gateshead branch is close to where I work. For jackets and fleeces I like to try them on, because I take a L or XL depending on brand and activity. For other stuff I tend to buy online. Staff at Gateshead are very helpfull.

I was served by Terry who couldn’t have been more helpful. He really took the time to explain the pros and cons of each item and made sure I was getting what suited me!
