Amazing service…talk about going out of your way to help!

Spoke to Steve regarding availability of a tent that I’d been after for a few weeks now but they were out of stock everywhere…he took on the challenge and I’ve just walked out of the shop with it under my arm! Would’ve been so easy to have just said “not available” but he wasn’t going to have that!

Great service from Steve. Thanks for your perseverance! My son and I are very pleased it paid off! Now hoping the rain stays away for our trip!

The staff were all very knowledgeable and helpfulful, I didn't catch all their names, Steve on the tills was great as was the gentleman helping with my shoes :) there was a lovely lady there to helping a family

Super shopping experience this morning at Chester GO Outdoors.
No pressure sales, extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff.
I was purchasing a replacement pair of walking boots.
Clear communication and no waffle.
I was impressed and felt at ease purchasing my Salomon Quest 5 GTX boots.

On arrival at the store I needed to locate a small item. I could see a chap (staff member Haydn) who appeared to be in the middle of an inventory, so I didn't want to interrupt him, but he dropped what he was doing and asked if he could help. I outlined what I needed and he climbed the stairs then, within a minute he was back with the exact item I needed. It is nice when staff just know where stuff is but it is even nicer when they put a customer first before returning to a no less important 'inventory'. Sorry if I messed up your count today Sir -(Haydn), but I felt compelled to register my gratitude to you for taking time out to help me despite how busy you were.

Went to purchase some walking shoes. Steve was very knowledgeable and helpful with advice on the brands / types of shoe which would be appropriate. Service at the till was friendly. The guy with the beard reminded us of the value of the Go Outdoors club card, and we renewed for the year. Quite a saving. Thank you.

We went shopping and unfortunately I took a bad turn and passed out unexpectedly. The staff in the shop couldn't have done enough to help me recover while I was there. They were so welcoming and helpful during the episode. Paul Paige went out of his way to get the pharmacist from Boots to come and check me over. He helped me to my car and kept checking in with me during the nearly two hours I was there. I can't say thank you enough to the amazing staff and service I received while I recovered. I'm much better now but couldn't have been in a better place when I had that scary turn. I'd 100%recommend this shop and will definitely be returning on our next visit to Chester.

Steve at Go Outdoors was excellent. His product knowledge was outstanding, and he took the time to explain several different products without any pressure. He was also brilliant with my son, making the whole shopping experience enjoyable and helping him understand the options.

This is a great reminder that some things really are better bought in person rather than online. The advice, expertise, and customer service we received simply can't be matched by a website. Thanks again, Steve!

I always buy Meindl walking shoes at Go Outdoors at around £130 a pair. I bought a new pair in Chester last week and they were marked up at £143. Ashton served me and he was great - smiley and helpful. Got the shoes for me from out back, fitted great as usual (6th pair I’ve had) and I asked if they’d price match Cotswold Outdoors-£15 less. He said yes so I went downstairs to pay. Again, friendly girl, Ashton said you’d price match, she said yes and got the manager to approve it, which he did without any grace or pleasantness whatsoever. My wife was with me and even she said what a miserable character he was. I buy a lot from Go Outdoors, not least almost £750 worth of Meindl Respect GTX over the last 6 years. I’ve always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I think it’s time this guy hung up his lanyard and left it to younger, more enthusiastic staff in the future. It hasn’t put me off Go Outdoors, it’s still a great store with happy and friendly staff by and large but you don’t need Mr Grumpy an a bright and sunny day

Steve and Paul in the Chester express store gave excellent customer service ... on which exact tent to choose, far beyond what I had expected.

Think this must relate to when I called in to Chester to get the security tag taken off which you had forgotten to do when I originally collected the garden chairs.
Apart from the security tag problem it would have been 5 stars

I had to return a sleeping bag we’d purchased online for our son’s DofE Silver expedition, and was desperate to get a better one before he left the next day. I hadn’t realised this store closed at 17:30 not 18:00, and arrived flustered at 17:34. But not only did they stay open for me, Paul walked me through all the options, sorted out our DofE and Go Outdoors discount, £30 which the website had failed to apply, helped me with the new bag purchase and got us refunded! Amazing and friendly service from Paul! Many thanks, the gear was great for the hike.

Came in for some advise on a small daypack with hip belt, Paul was a great help helping me choose what I needed and very knowledgable.

I was 2/3 the way around my walk around Wales of 1047 miles. My walking shoes were starting to come apart and I needed to change them.
As i was a Go outdoors card holder the store was my first Port of call to look at new walking shoes.
I had spoken briefly to Ashton L the previous day before purchasing my new walking shoes.
I went back today and he was very helpful and patient with me and carried approx 9 boxes of shoes from the storeroom for me to try.
I was very happy with my purchase and Ashton L was very professional towards me.
