GO Outdoors - Cardiff Anmeldelser

My wife, daughter and I visited the Cardiff Go Outdoors store this afternoon on a wet, miserable and busy Saturday. We were all looking for some new waterproof walking shoes and jackets for an upcoming trip.
Initially we were supported by Mel who despite being run off his feet with customers requiring his assistance with shoes was still patient and knowledgeable despite us asking for about 6 different shoes in 12 different sizes. He is a credit to the store and helped us find the perfect footwear.
He asked if we were looking for anything else and we explained the jackets we were looking for, he called his colleague Grace to help with this and she advised the type of jackets we would need where to find them in store, again knowledgeable and friendly.
Having staff like Mel and Grace is why we prefer to come instore and shop rather than purchase online.

We came to the store for some help in the fishing department. Joe served us and he was fantastic really helpful from the moment we arrived. He is an asset to the team. Thank you

A huge thanks to Joe for helping get my son setup for fishing. I had no idea. But Joe kindly took the time to talk us through the different options and correct equipment to get. Huge thanks 🙌

I visited GO Outdoors in Cardiff yesterday to buy some items. The service was good, and the staff were helpful. The shopping experience was smooth, and I had no issues with my purchase. Overall, I had a satisfactory experience and would be happy to shop here again.

I was looking for a hardshell waterproof and windproof jacket and was expertly helped by James at the Cardiff store. He was very knowledgeable and couldn't do enough for me - great service

All staff were friendly & welcoming, but a special shout out to Mel who was wonderful in helping me pick out some new hiking boots today! When I said I'd probably be a 6.5 she brought out both the 6.5 & 7s just in case - which was great because I ended up buying the 7s! Got me set up with a membership card and applied the discount for having it, and even price matched one of the things I was buying as I'd found it cheaper elsewhere! Extremely friendly & conversational, put me at ease as I usually find shopping for hiking boots stressful (I feel a bit silly taking shoes off and on over and over again!!) The store was well laid-out and it didn't feel claustrophobic as some outdoor stores can. Will definitely return next time I need some supplies!

Bought a Berghaus chair. Checked online and it said sold out. Went to Cardff store and you had at least 6.

Brilliant service and very informative from Morgan T would recommend a visit anytime.

Joe helped us on the fishing desk, great advice and direction with regards to products, also great local knowledge. Really took time and was genuinely interested in putting us on the right track, both myself and my son could not be more impressed, thank you.

Excellent service and advice from Morgan T. Thanks

Morgan at the Cardiff store was amazing! Really helpful, kind, great communication. Thank you!

Hannah & Bella were so patient whilst I tried on multiple hiking boots. They listened carefully to my requirements and waited patiently as I tried walking around the shoe department; my boots have been instantly comfortable on my Wales Coast Path trek. Thank you Ladies

Morgan T helped me choose a pair of boots.
He gave great advice, pointed me in the right direction for a pair of boots that suited me.
He was also very polite and patient.
Thanks

I needed some new walking boots and Morgan in the Cardiff store was incredibly helpful and patient, I spent a lot of time trying on different pairs, he was so knowledgeable and answered all my questions and was a lot more helpful than other local outdoor stores I’ve recently visited. I’ve bought a pair of excellent scarpa boots that will be perfectly suited for mountain hiking now and can’t wait to use them. Morgan’s advice about what is/isnt allowed for price matches was spot on too. Thanks very much!

Went in Thursday night to try an expensive coat and was helped by Mark F, went back Friday evening so my wife could see the coat on (it’s expensive and wanted her approval), still couldn’t decide, went back Saturday (10/10/26), Mark F helped again as did James and Chris.
All three made the decision to purchase very easy (in the end) and were all a huge help. Great work by the three of them

I liked that some staff were accommodating when I kept asking for different sizes in various boot styles. I don't like to inconvenience people so they made me feel at ease with the process of finding the right boot. However, when I found the right one (more expensive brand), I was given the display shoe and the other boot to match. I asked if there was a pair that hadn't been on display that I could have as the boot was more scuffed and marked than the other. He quickly said no without checking. My sister then asked if its possible to get a slight discount given the visible scuffs and he was a little short and rude. He advised they're only kept on display for 2 weeks at a time which I find hard to believe. If this is the case, then fine but the shortness of his responses were not appreciated.

Carter and Joe amazing experience sorted me right out done my line on my reel I went in their blind not knowing a thing about fishing and they broke down specifically what everything means really appreciated their help and support definitely recommend

We bought a camp bed parts missing and sleeping bag broke

Popped in to get advice on a coat to take to Everest base camp and James is the man for it. Took the time to look through them & give advice on all the different types/ brands. Left the shop feeling happy with my purchase. Would highly recommend. Thank you James!
