GoEco was amazing to work wit, they took care of all the logistics in a one stop shop! They made sure I had all the information I needed prior to leaving and while I was there, and checked in to make sure everything was going smoothly! There are so many options available it was hard to pick just one, but it was truly such a once in a lifetime experience that was rewarding in so many ways! I can't wait to discover another eco location in the future!!!

The only minus is that there is no flexibility at all when it comes to budget - even if you don't use for example the airport transfers (because you're there already), they will not adapt pricing.

Hi! I've recently returned from my three-week volunteering in Chipangali, where I've had the experience of a lifetime. As stated in the GoEco docs I'd read before my trip, the volunteering work really turned out to be physically demanding, but also very rewarding. As someone who had never before done any physical labor, I've learned how to use various tools, such as pliers, wheelbarrow, spade, rake etc. I also participated in some unique experiences, such as sheep vaccinating, feeding of the wounded owl, snake releasing and many more. The Wilson family, who own and run Chipangali, are very kind people, who helped me whenever I had any trouble. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, whenever we faced animal situations we were unfamiliar with. The coolest example of this was when my fellow volunteer and I were cleaning the crocodile cage...with them in it! Alex, who is in charge of reptiles, was with us the whole time and there wasn't any danger because he led us through the process step by step.
All in all, I'm very satisfied with the whole program and the way GoEco prepared me for it, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about animals (I didn't go there with that purpose in mind, but I learned a ton!), get some hands-on experience in working with them, meet some awesome people, see beautiful African landscape (Matopos + Vic falls) or just try something new, for all of that is guaranteed if you come volunteering in Chipangali!

This was a second volunteering trip for my wife and I (recently retired - so not just for youngsters!), and it fulfilled all our expectations. The work in the Maldivian heat (30 degrees all day, every day) was quite hard work, but the rewards of helping turtles recover from some horrific injuries and being readied for release made it all worthwhile. There was ample time for snorkelling in the pristine waters to see some amazing underwater wildlife. The staff in the Atoll Marine Centre were amazing and helped everyone understand their role and the purpose behind what they were doing. GoEco provided all the information required beforehand to make the planning and the journey seamless. My only minor complaint is that guaranteeing a two-person room in the volunteer house for my wife and I wasn't possible beforehand, however this was arranged by the local team for our arrival. It would have been reassuring to have had this confirmed before we finalised everything.

One of the most incredible experiences with GoEco learning to scuba dive, meeting new friends, and making a positive environmental impact in one of the most beautiful countries. 10/10 recommend!!

I participated in the Great Barrier Reef program through GoEco in March 2024. The onboarding process was fairly straightforward but it does require a commitment to get paperwork in and phone calls made. These trips require some dedication and work. I was challenged mentally and physically but I got a lot out of it and I’m glad I went. I thought the price was reasonable and I got good value for the money I spent. I recommend this company and this program!

Life changing experience.
I had an amazing time at a wolf sanctuary in Portugal and visiting Lisbon with GoEco, everything was perfectly organised and I was accompanied through every step. The only reason I removed a star is the price which I found a little expensive for 2 weeks.

Amazing customer service and organizational skills. You made this experience safe, easy, and memorable. Loved the quick response time and reassurance of traveling to the location or any concerning matters. Easy to get in contact with. Highly recommend GoEco.

During the Environmental Conservation project, various activities useful and fun are carried out. These are all activities that take place in groups with a coordinator always present.
The environment is all around us and the degradation is on the soil, in the air and in the water, so the activities are very varied and in the space of a month I had the opportunity to collaborate in the restoration of a small piece of the coral reef, the reconstraction and planting of mangroves, the cleaning of canoe rivers and beaches.
For me it was a period of new experiences during which I learned various techniques and met many young people who enthusiastically came to Sri Lanka to improve the environment. It also happened that the monk of the Japanese Pagoda asked for our intervention to paint the temple white. We were very proud to contribute to the improvement of a Buddhist worship building as well as the fact that we had a lot of fun. Aasha House is 50 m from the beach so you can spend your free time in the beautiful sea of ​​the island. The house is clean, the organization is punctual and efficient. Considering that the jobs are not heavy and difficult, it is an experience that I recommend even to those who are no longer very young, in fact I am retired, however I settled in immediately without difficulty.

Everything was great , from Carla who I delt with at GoEco to the project itself what an amazing soulful experience. The people, the community, the elephants , what they are doing, the care, compassion, love for these animals and the people.. don’t get me started it was heartwarming truly. I can’t say enough good, but I could do without the spiders lol but truly amazing place. I would go over and over and plan to, just to see the elephants and the people again. What an amazing experience, I plan to run a charity event for them to help back home my experience was that amazing

This is my 2nd trip with GoEco. I can honestly say this organization has changed my life. GoEco Operations Team is always just one email away. Answering even the silliest of questions that I have, like do I take a checked bag vs only a carry-on but also help with the most important questions like how to get my visa, where the taxi will pick me up etc... No question too big or too small. I also feel so safe, as if someone is right here with me even if they are half way across the world.
My trip to South Africa was absolutely amazing. We worked mostly with big cats; cheetahs, lions and tigers as well as some lemurs, otters, hippos, crocs and many more. This place is a safe haven for these animals who have all had a very difficult life prior to being rescued. The fact I could play a small role in their care means the world to me. Ever since my first trip in 2021 to South Africa I feel like my eyes have been opened in both positive and negative ways. I can never unknown the hurt that injured animals go through but in the same breath I see how many people are trying to help these animals and give them a better life.
GoEco has truly changed lives for the better and I can't wait to volunteer again.
