Usually we really enjoy Goape until we visited the Matfen site yesterday. We were a large group of children and adults and we were very close to leaving before we started. I’m not even sure where to start. A nice girl took us for the briefing but she was just regurgitating a script- I’m afraid there was no explanation of what the things were she was telling us about, when we needed to use the information and if we didn’t understand to just read the board. We know health and safety is important but when it takes 40 minutes just to go through the simple initial steps with no engagement, one at a time as if they’d never had a large group before, children get chatty. Enter the woman we had a huge problem with. She came shouting in that we were acting up, getting far too excited, not listening when actually we were doing what the first girl had told us. This second woman was so rude, patronising and we were amazed she was allowed to deal with the paying public. It felt as though we were in detention rather than a fun activity we had opted to pay for. We have been to plenty of goape where the staff have been brilliant- they have conveyed the health and safety importance while being friendly, kind and making sure we were enjoying ourselves. This woman truly zapped the fun out of the activity and then later scolded some of us individually for mistakes we had apparently made. Being loud and rude are not traits I would want in my staff.
This all took so long that we were then stuck behind 2 families that were too scared to do the activities so after waiting 30 minutes behind them we had to miss out that part of the course to overtake them. Absolute shambles- no staff there to help the families or to care about the wait time. Will never return.

We had a fabulous time when we visited Buxton Go Ape to complex the Tree top Challenge. It was a great time had by all 2- 16 year olds, 1-14 year old and 1-13 year old and two mums. We had Reuben as our instructor who was very good at keeping the attention of all, he was patient as he explained the skills needed and the children listened - always a bonus! Would definitely recommend as a fun, challenging activity. Happy swinging

I did Go Ape yesterday at Leeds castle. It was brilliant. It was very hard. I’m a 50 year old woman that has never done anything like this before. I’m so glad I did it. I ache today but I’m so proud of myself. Our instructor Martin was brilliant. Reassuring, encouraging and I was worried I would feel foolish for struggling but he offered advice throughout the course and gave me the confidence to push on. Great experience. I'd like to give a big shout out to the team at Moors Valley for helping my daughter conquer her fears! They were also totally amazing with my son whose birthday it was! The teams patience and encouragement made they day go from the edge of disaster to a totally awesome day!

My eldest loves visiting here. Would be nice if there was a bit more variation between sites but overall plenty to do and well organised.

This was the second time that some of us had done the challenge at Thetford Forest and it was better than the first time. We purchased it with vouchers for a group of 4 and when one of our group did not like the height involved, they offered a refund for him (which we now have) - we did not expect that after it had started! Izzy was our instructor. She dealt with the difficulty very well - sensitive and calm. We all had a great day and will go again. Izzy and other instructors kept a watch on us - more than our first visit- and I liked that.

Big, thank you to the go ape staff at Bracknell Centre. It was for my son‘s birthday and the boys had an excellent experience, it is a brilliant outdoor activity.

The Staff were very Aware and Super Helpful. Torie, Nathan & Emily were all Stars ! Thanks to you ALL for the most Wonderful, unforgettable Birthday experience for 6yr old twins Albie and Orson and 7 year old Harley ! We ALL loved it. Thank you very very much Tilgate Park, Go Ape Crawley location.

We went to Go Ape at Moors Valley Park and the young staff members were excellent - full of enthusiasm and really friendly and helpful. We paid for an hour but were there over 2!

So expensive for the 'experience'. Almost a third more than equivalent offerings and that's for even less time. Then there's the parking charges on top. Would not recommend.

Firstly we paid for 3 children for 90 minutes (1.30-3pm) on arrival they were given wristbands which stated 2.55, oy 5 minutes so not really a big deal, then told to wait at meeting point, maybe im wrong but in my thinking and everywhere else we go the time paid for is the time on the activities, we were collected from meeting point shortly after 1.30 and as there was around 8-9 children in the group that then had to wait to have harnesses fitted and the safety brief they lost another 20-25 minutes of activity time, absolute rip off, was also so busy if we had only paid for the hour (realistically 30 minutes) they would have been lucky to even get on 2 of the 3 courses

Multiple vouchers bought just before Christmas as gifts, Virgin experience vouchers had 12 months to use, Voucher bought from Go Ape website directly only had 6 months which we weren't aware of, missed by 3 weeks and they wouldn't allow it to be used.

We had Patrick yesterday as our Go Ape instructor and he was excellent! Honestly, he is such a nice friendly guy and his smile put us at ease. He was so kind and helpful and his instructions were super clear. It did feel a tiny bit slow at times bit he was just being really thoughtful and looking after us. His lovely attitude totally made up for it anyway. Thanks so much Patrick, we had a great time!

We enjoyed the actual go ape activity (nets) however we won’t be renewing our annual passes. The annual passes I feel are a bit of a con. You have to pay an additional £4 booking fee every-time you want to go. No where else I’ve come across does this - not even Merlin!
On top of that the website never let us book so it always had to be booked over the phone and that was a lengthy process. We have always been a fan of go ape but I think we will be looking elsewhere for family adventures.

Two days ago in Buxton, Go Ape was a life changing experience for me. I'm 70 and while I'm healthy and fit enough to walk the dog five miles a day, I have been sinking into a rut in recent years.

Suddenly I saw that I was thinking, feeling and acting like an old man and decided to look for an adventure that would be unlikely to kill me but had a small element of risk and a would give me a big charge of adrenaline. Go Ape did both. I completed the course, which I found as exhausting as a half-marathon did when I was 45, and two days later I'm still experiencing a massive 'runner's high'. I feel invigorated and young again.

The friendly and encouraging staff (especially Hattie) were a great help. The safety kit is robust and easy to use. The value for money in my case was extraordinary as I'd have been happy to pay ten times the cost for this therapeutic effect.

I wanted to write a balanced review but I can't actually think of anything negative - even the sun came out in Buxton for me.

Very disappointing experience.

I booked an activity with Go Ape but had to cancel shortly after due to genuine safety concerns following a personal risk assessment. I contacted the company both by phone and email, trying to resolve the situation in a reasonable way.

Unfortunately, I found the customer service unhelpful and inflexible. Despite explaining the situation clearly, I was refused a refund and only offered a short-term voucher with a limited expiry, which is not a suitable solution when you no longer feel comfortable using the service.

I understand companies have terms and conditions, but there should be some level of understanding and flexibility when a customer raises legitimate concerns.

Overall, poor customer service and disappointing handling of the situation.

Initially disappointing experience, but resolved in the end.

I had to cancel my booking shortly after making it due to personal safety concerns. At first, customer service was quite rigid and I was only offered a short-term voucher, which was frustrating.

However, after further communication and escalation, the matter was reviewed and I was eventually offered a refund (minus a small admin fee), which I appreciate.

The process could have been handled more smoothly from the start, but I do acknowledge that the issue was ultimately resolved.

Customer service was horrid , we were on the zip line and the rude worker kicked us of for no exact reason .he asked for a supervisor then we could go on and then we presented a supervisor and he still did not let us on . Horrible service will never come again .

Haldon Forest Go Ape was awesome for us. The people running were amazing, funny and professional. Very friendly and supportive. We were a couple of minutes late but they didn’t seem to mind at all.
When there was a queue of people in front they offered us to skip past them and come back to do this part of the course later, which was really appreciated. We didn’t skip we just waited, but the offer was great.

Also, if it’s your birthday they give you a little special treatment. 😉

Very bad experience. We booked during a short trip to London, only to find out on arrival that my child was slightly under the height limit. Despite this, no refund was offered. While I understand the need for clear policies, a bit more flexibility and customer care in situations like this would be appreciated—especially for visitors who can’t reschedule. I would recommend being very careful before booking. Avoid this place, they will steal your money

Awesome day out in Dalkeith Country Park with my soon to be 7 year old son who has issues with balance. Staff were very kind and helpful as well as encouraging - that’s at least ten different people he encountered. He felt safe and very brave doing things at heights I don’t think he’d try. At one point he was scared but the instructors got him moving just by talking and this was 30 foot in the air. He came away feeling ten foot tall.
