Something very dodgy going on at Global Auctioneers
In a recent auction held by Global Auctioneers, I bid on quite a few items that I was interested in for resale.
If I had only bid on a couple of items, perhaps I wouldn’t have noticed, but as there were many, one thing became apparent to me.
I feel that I have to make people aware of what I discovered, or at least felt what I discovered.
I placed reserves for the lots I was bidding on, hopeful of winning the items as nobody else had bid on them.
In the last minute, the bids crept up until they reached my reserve. Then stopped. None went over. Even when I hoped on some of the items that they would as my reserve was unrealistically high.
After this happened on most of the items I had placed reserves on, I began to think something suspicious was happening.
I was not aware of the term ‘Shill Bidding’ but after reading the i-bidder information pages, I realised that this had occurred. Either somebody was aware of what my reserve was, or there was a ‘bot’ at work.
I made up my mind not to pay the invoice and reported my suspicions to i-bidder.
Following that, I have had no response from i-bidder, which is not unusual. I have also been invoiced by Global for close to £1k.
After refusing to pay, several attempts at withdrawing funds from my bank account have been made by Global. They have blocked me from bidding with them in the future, as if I would, and i-bidder have made this known to other auctioneers, potentially affecting my bidding ability with them in the future.
After reading the comments from other auction users on here, I have no doubt that my suspicions were correct.
The items that I bid on have been re-lotted and have been sold to other bidders. I have been threatened with debt collection for non payment and additional charges. Non payment for goods that I have never received and have since been sold again.
I think if i-bidder want to remain this body of virtue that they seem to want to convey publicly, then I feel that Global Auctioneers should be removed from their selling platform and not the bidders who have been wronged by them. Then again money talks. And I thought that customers were always right. Yes i-bidder receives a commission from the auctioneers to use their platform but what if the auctioneer goes belly up? I-bidder, please take note and listen to your users.
EDIT 19/7 and 22/12
Global auctioneers have accepted by email that one of my four items bought was wrongly dispatched. They asked for my bank details to refund this item 6 days ago. I am still waiting for said refund. I was also told that manager Lauren (Bev has now left the company) is investigating and will get in touch maybe within 48hrs. Nothing heard but in all fairness with nearly 70% poor reviews I expected nothing less. I am waiting for this to conclude in order to raise the other issues with small claims court. In view of the shady and untruthful dealings and communication with this company, I expect any response to make it look like they’ve done their best.
If it looks and smells like poo, it probably is poo. I wish I had seen trustpilot before I bid on this site.
I have also been told that despite listing a single table as a 4chair and round table lot, it was my mistake for assuming after I asked a question to clarify the condition of the lot by email.
EDIT 9/7
GLOBAL AUCTIONEERS have come back and say that their pictures are for illustrations only and items (or descriptions) should not be expected to remotely resemble the items you bid on. I.e if you bid on a chair, you could get a lamp like me! Apparently the garden set I bid on that I was told was a RRP £260 rattan garden 4 chair set consists of only a table!!! And a multi tiered plant stand was significantly less sturdy that the named item I bid on.
Small claims court here I come. It feels like the principle of the company to take advantage of individuals like me who are looking to buy a bargain.
I bid on four items on the 14th June, I paid for it on the 15th. I asked for a shipping quote which arrived two weeks later despite prompting numerous times by email and phone. I was told all was delayed because of staff turnover.
In that time I moved house. I asked for the shipping quote to reflect my new address before I would pay for it. This was changed and I paid.
Two weeks after this after calling almost every day (interactions with Claire and Leo in shipping) I am told some of my items could be posted to arrive within 48hrs but I had to pay an additional sum as they needed to use more than one courier. I paid expecting shipping asap.
This first package was subsequently shipped to the WRONG ADDRESS despite all of the communication and whilst the second package was still in the shipping department I rang again to make sure that the right address was used
On the second parcel. I was assured that it was correct. WRONG!!! I have again recieved a call from a courier at the old address!!!
Three items that have arrived are also not at all what I ordered sadly I can’t attach pictures to this review (for your amusement) and I am still waiting for The final order (a gardenset )- based on all of this I am more than a little apprehensive that it will be spectacularly wrong like all the other items (edit- it was wrong like all other items. It was described as a part lot, I emailed asking for condition and an explanation of what part lot meant before the auction and got a “item is a complete and sealed package” response. Global sent only a table, not the 4seater they advertised in description or pictures). These items are NOT AS DESCRIBED and I asked for conditions before I bid.
I was disappointed to find out in online reviews that this appears to be a pattern. Globalauctioneers Can you please help resolve this?
I don’t believe bad reviews and trading standards are the solution to problems but am very frustrated with the company’s management so far.
22/12/22 EDIT
AFTER A £35 small claims court claim, I have finally received a refund and fees from global auctions failing to come good over the last 6months. That bit was swiftly managed incidentally. If you don’t get anywhere with comms, take it to small claims court. Maybe fewer people will suffer the same fate.

I bought some pallets on the i-bidder website, I made the purchase on April 5th, after 6 days of a lot of insistence, calls and emails, they sent me the freight quote for the pallets, I made the payment, and I never got a response, calls, emails, every day you call and someone different answers and they never solve your problem, it will be 3 months and so far my goods have not arrived, they answer the phone, when I say my name, they answer me with contempt, they say they will resolve and never return, I didn't buy lots of auctions through this company. I'm going to file with my lawyer against these thieves.

Before writing my review I would like to point out two things:
1. They seem to be doing this type of deception on a consistent basis after inspecting some of their other listings.
2. One of their ex-employees even points out: “consistent shady acts that made me question the morality or thought processes of the MD.” (see employee review on indeed.com).
_______
This is the first time I have ever felt the need to write a review for a company. I’m usually very successful to come to a solution together with a company. I hope by writing this review that anyone reading this won’t fall in the same trap I did.
As the title suggests the item I received did not match the picture nor the description that was on the i-bidder.com website.
I won two lots. The illustrated pictures were a completely different product than what I received. What I received was considerable less in value and came either half missing or half broken.
1. The first lot I won was a bedside table. The description stated “RRP £160 Lot To Contain X1 Boxed Side Table Made By Germania”. In one of the pictures there was a cardboard box that had written “side table” on the side. What I received instead was a cheaply made, damaged wardrobe that was a completely different item to the picture, the description and the words written in marker on the cardboard box.
2. The second lot I won was a shoe cabinet. What I received instead was a shoe cabinet that’s completely different (and considerably less in value) than what’s pictured. But not only did I receive a different item, half of it was also missing, rendering the purchase useless.
Unsatisfied by what I received (which was completely different (and damaged) than what I had tried to buy) I tried contacting their customer service to come to a solution together. Mistakes can always have been made (they accidentally sent out the wrong items,...).
The customer service I have experienced by one of their employees is the worst customer experience I have ever had to go through. I tried to explain to them that what I had received was different than the description and the listed pictures. I was abruptly interrupted and told “the pictures are for illustration purposes only.” I tried to explain to her that I understand their policy and that what I received could understandably be an item of different colour or perhaps not the same quality as what was pictured, but that to receive a completely different item (which was moreover half-missing or damaged) was unacceptable. However, I was unable to do so because she kept interrupting me consistently saying “pictures are for illustration purposes only”. I couldn’t get a word in. In the end she rudely cut the phone call.
I called back an hour later and was more hopeful when I got the office manager on the line. She advised me to assemble what I had received first to see if anything was possible.
Following that, I sent out an e-mail with more information and pictures but received no response to the e-mail. I tried calling the customer service line multiple times and even left my phone number so she could call me back to find a solution (partial refund, full refund, return,...) but received no response. In the end I received a response through the rude employee who told me they could not help me because it was an “appraisal issue”.
Not asking for a condition report beforehand in their eyes warrants sending out completely different & damaged items compared to what they have listed. I call that deception.
Please don’t fall in the same trap as me and spend your money elsewhere if you want to avoid a similar situation.
If you are looking to have a shocking experience and terrible customer service this is the place for you. I'm owed £400 plus from these due to them failing to follow their own processes. Of course they made it out to be my fault. After they scammed me I checked out the reviews here and a lot of them echo my experience. I brought this up with them.....they say that all the other people reviews are wrong because they didn't read t&c. Apparently t&c don't need to be follow by this company and they can do what they like. I found them through Ibidder- all my other auctions wins were paid for and the delivered straight away, no problems. But not these guys, they like to add stress to a situation. Please if you are unfortunate enough to have been robbed by these do not give in. Inform them they (global auctions) must delete your stored details, contact your banks fraud team, contact trading standard/consumer rights, appoint ombudsman. If they do take money out of your account once you have requested details to be removed this will be classed as theft and the police can be involved.
*do your legal team deal with all the people you have robbed in the same way?
Not sure about the troll statement? I've certainly left a couple bad reviews though. Will be good to see what your "team" can do about public reviews? 🤷♂️

I have purchased/ won on an auction an item they did not have in stock. Been waiting more than 6 months for a refund! This involved many phone calls, emails etc. their staff kept changing so new staff was saying there was no record of my problem being tackled.
Complained to ibidder (the website I used to bid with Global Auct.) which resulted in the refund being sent to me.

Please avoid this company at all costs. They sell really old products for more than it is worth. Their customer service is in shambles especially from that Aaron who doesn't know what he is doing. Their fees are ridiculous 45% on top of your bidding price! Their terms and conditions are bogus aswell. They could literally resell the same lot over and over if people don't receive the items they had won. You are better off financing a brand new product than buying theirs. Better off going to other big named companies. They are a legitimate scamming business. Global auctions flagged my review for potential marketing. They are a ridiculous company. Please avoid at all costs for the sake of your bank account.
Post-reply edit:
First of all I'm not barred as i ended up paying for the products I didn't get with my credit card and using more than was available and relaying private information on a public forum will be reported. Just shows how low you stoop to get back at consumers which only makes you look worse

I would rate this “company” under the sea level! - meaning worse than devil itself!
i ve bought/won something on 1st of December 2021, paid for those items, even for shipping and guess what? exactly, no bloody items arrived! not even today 17th of JUNE 2022!!
Called them 3 times a week, for almost 4 months!!! Nothing!!! They just keep blaming shipping department, and keep taking my details, 3 times a week with no results! I ve had enough and I gave up because I realized that i m just a joke for them! Disgusting! Not everyone steal like you Global Auctioneers, some of us are working!
Where do I start I have been a customer of global for over a year and have fully read and understand their terms and small print that being said firstly about 3 months ago I purchased 4 items 2 tv stands info said new complete items 1 lamp complete and 1 mattress boxed when collecting we were told the lamp was only a part item and could not be sold so we would be refunded we said okay took the other items but when we got home the mattress was okay one tv stand was okay but the second tv stand was only half a unit no top or bottom so not fit for purchase I re read the description and it states new complete I sent 4 emails no answer then rang numerous times no answer eventually I spoke with someone who agreed with me that that was not right as it should have been complete and I should have had the refund for the lamp I never got they would raise the issue and get back to me ( still waiting ) no contact or refund as yet. Now this week Tuesday I purchased another mattress a hybrid sprung pocket but this time it was stated as unchecked but boxed so when it was collected it was not boxed but plastic wrapped when we got it home and opened it it was stained in the middle so with it be advertised as unchecked I fully understood that this was a possibility BUT looking at the mattress it was not the one I bid on this is a memory foam mattress not a sprung pocket mattress so I was either given the wrong one or missold when we went back to ask about this firstly they said we should have opened it before we took it to check not practical with a rolled mattress and got security to ask us to leave I have now got a mattress I did not bid on a part of a tv stand unable to use and awaiting a refund for an item they never gave us as it was only a part this is shocking behaviour for a company I have contacted trading standards who agree and are opening up a case please use a different auction these do not value anyone's custom and are just a money grabbing at all costs company. A tip for anyone look back at any items you have previously bid on genuine out bids tell you how much they sold for items where you are bidding against global have no selling price just lot closed this proves that there must be a reserve and it was not met by you highest bid and if you look this item will be relisted in a future auction, JOHN LEWIS, AMAZON, IDEAL WORLD ETC please find yourselves another company to sell you items through as this one is not doing you any favours not building repeat customers why not try the others located in Stockport much better and actually have fab customer service
Scammers! Won some items on the 10th of February, paid in full for the items and shipping the day after and surprise surprise they haven’t arrived. Spoken to several different people who put you on hold and don’t pick the phone back up.
Then came on trust pilot and saw all the negative reviews, emailed Bev and was told send my bank details and I would have a refund, I did this and guess what, no refund.
Then received an email from Aaron at the beginning of May stating that my items are not available anymore but he will organise a refund for me, and guess what again, still no refund. I’ve sent copious amounts of emails to this company and received nothing.
Obviously this is a complete scam, they don’t have the items that you are bidding for, they are just taking your money and keeping it. I’m sure they will be in administration very soon but very wealthy people having stolen everyones money.
I’m sure they will reply to this review with some utter garbage like they have on other peoples bad reviews, it is all lies they are scammers pure and simple.
I will be paying them a visit to get my money back.
Do not use not lost a lot of money but avoid at all costs. Polite on phone wanting money now no response for shipping. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSE WHERE. SHAME YOU HAVE TO GIVE ONE STAR OTHERWISE BE GETTING MINUS...Awful outfit....

Global used to be great but now useless - They will not allow you to open the boxes (even though the boxes have obviously been opened previously so it is likely the item is damaged or not as described) the items are in and expect you to bid blind - and when you do they tell you you bought it "as seen" - How can I see it if i cant open the box? Completely ruined what was great company - Never again

Beware of this cowboy outfit.
I previously wrote a review in November 2021 that these cowboys begged me to remove, where they had not supplied goods and held onto my £500 for about a year. I did not remove my comments. However, when Trustpilot got back to me with requirements to keep the review up, I decided to let it go, hoping they had changed. No, They have become much worse.
Hoping they had cleaned up their act, I transacted again with them this month and promptly paid in response to the invoice. The lady on the phone said that she would have the shipping team contact me the next day.
I waited patiently for two weeks and contacted them yesterday. Only to face a barrage of insults from an extremely rude woman called Claire. She said they were short staffed and did I expect them to hand walk the goods to me!! I said she had no business talking to a customer that way and she dropped the phone on me.
I rang back and she picked up and said 'do I wanna park the attitude'. I said her company was in the wrong and on top of that she had insulted me. She dropped the phone again. I kept calling for a long time, then a man picked it up and said he was the owner and I had better park the attitude immediately. I tried to explain that I had been insulted, but he was even more rude. I said he was unprofessional and he replied I was poor and living in a council flat. I don't live in a council flat, but I do not see the relevance of that comment. People from all walks of life patronise auction websites. Besides it is not right to mock people just because you have more money than them. He said if I was not poor, why was I buying goods out of an auction. This comment took me aback, as I did not realise the level of contempt this uncouth character had for his customers. I said his comments were out of order and he dropped the phone on me. I rang again and again and spoke to another lady who used the same "park your attitude" line. She subsequently dropped the phone on me too. I kept ringing as the issue had not been resolved. Eventually they blocked my number.
How can the likes of John Lewis and iBidder deal with such unprofessional nonentities?? Before dropping the phone, the owner said he was going to hold onto my funds as long as he wanted to and I would not get the goods either. I guess as far as they are concerned, that is the end of the matter. They have stolen my money, what can I do? or so they think.
I am guessing their director feels he does not have to operate in a lawful manner, but he has reckoned without consideration of trading standards and the small claims court amongst other things. Sometimes companies act in this disgraceful manner because they feel in small claims they will not have to pay the costs of bringing the action against them, or be liable for exemplary damages. That is because they are unaware of CPR rule 27.14(2)g - unreasonable behaviour.
I am legally trained having done the LPC - Solicitors finals in 2017. I would love to fashion a way whereby we can work together to bring a consolidated case for compensation. Then we can approach their business associates to be wary of ill repute by association. Also, it will give more clout relating our joint accounts to a TV station or blogger. I have also been in communication with other parties that I cannot mention at this point.
I am also logging a report with the police as I am wary of a company whose director resorts to insults and threats of illegally stealing a customer's funds.
Absolute rubbish, mostly faulty goods that are only fit for landfill. Do not bid on anything that you have not fully inspected. Photos and appraisals are very misleading. Terrible attitude tio customer service. I don't imagine they will be in business much longer.

Simply put these guys are thief's.
I have ordered from several auctioneers through the Ibidder platform, not had an issue with any except these guys, who are crooks masquerading as a legitimate business.
First of all it took them 2 months to deliver my goods. Upon receipt numerous items were missing, and the rest were all broken, totally unusable.
I spent over £2,000 on the 2 auctions.
At the start I had an email from them apologising recognising the missing items, asking for my bank details and saying they would refund them immediately. I also asked about the various broken goods they sent me, they said I didn't ask for a condition report so my mistake. This was true on a couple of lots, but I did ask on several others and was lied to over the phone. Regardless why would you even try to sell smashed up items, that are broken beyond repair? Clearly hoping by some loophole they can rip off unsuspecting newbies.
Some of the items were received even with yellow and black stickers across them saying, DO NOT RE-SELL. Not even at attempt to hide what they are doing.
Accepting that I did not ask for a condition report on a few items, this company still owe me a huge sum of money, they keep arguing the amount, but reality is I have not had £1 back from them.
Simply put do not under any circumstances consider buying through this firm, you will lose your money. I am in contact with their account manager about getting them thrown off the ibidder platform, I will also be taking legal action.
You may get polite emails from Bev, she is just fobbing you off, and if you are lucky enough to deal with Aaron you are in for a treat!!!
Bought two lots 11 weeks ago and in spite of numerous phone calls and emails I have not received the goods. I wish I'd read some of their reviews prior to bidding - you live and learn! Avoid this company!
If you're reading this review having fallen foul of their antics - you may want to contact - their bank, iBidder, trading standards, the police, Watchdog, etc.

i normally don't leave a bad review for any business but after what i experienced today i felt like i should warn others so they don't become their victims.
i went to collect my winning lot from them and it had missing items from description, not just one item 16 altogether. when i asked the staff if they'll check in the warehouse, he simply refused and said that he cannot help.
actually he literally said " DO ONE " after a little confrontation.
So yeah that is the type of customer service you'll get from global auctioneers. DO ONE.
They stole my products and told me to DO ONE.

Svar fra Global Auctioneers
I bought 18 items on an online auction from global auctioneers and only received 15 but it's not a problem because the 15 that I did recieve were all used and broken, quite literally junk I now have to dispose of.
I was appalled at the state of a coffe machine in particular which fell apart when I touched it and still had someone's coffee in and moldy coffee grinds which is not only disgusting but a health hazard and a slide that I bought for my 4 year old valued at £210 which was was 5 random bits of a slide which are useless as so much of it is missing and none of it fits together without the rest.
This company is a disgrace, they should not be allowed to sell online because if you are unable to view an item they think it's ok to sell broken moldy used junk. I don't know in what world that isn't considered a scam. I will be contacting trading standards over this matter.
