Ginsters Peppered Steak Slices have been a favourite for years, however something has changed & they are no longer anywhere near as tasty. The steak content is considerably less and large chunks of p... Vis mer

Normally we love eating ginsters pasty but the last couple of occasions we had them theywere very spicy and full of potato and hardly any meat - very disappointed Eric Belsten Bath

I had my first pepper steak slice in a while but wont be buying another or anymore products from ginsters, the size has shrunk immensely. Nor whil my fathers shops stock them any more, because of all the complaints, but as long as they are making more money, and dont care about consumers, it's easier to keep people happy rather than loose them,
Gristle & Yeuk !
Gristle, Grit and Goo !
Against better judgement, bought a Ginster's "Sausage Roll" 21/01/26 in a Sainsbury's supermarket. Sausage roll in inverted comma's with good reason. Here's what I got: Gristle, Grit and Gooey Doh all of indescribable bit's of connecting tissue ground to a mix that cannot hide the hard "Bits" .....that needed spitting out ! But, there are two major issues here.
1. Crap quality (and I choose my words carefully) and,
2. Why with a Trust Pilot rating of 2.2 out of 5 stars can Sainsbury's possibly continue with stocking possible the worst value for money in Sainsbury's at all ?
I seldom trust mass produced food…
I seldom trust mass produced food products having read Ginsters food hygiene figures I thought that I would try their products I purchased some pasties and chicken and mushroom slices ,also peppered steak slices ,and I was delighted all full of filling and full of flavour.

Poor quality
For years I have bought ginsters products but just recently I have been disgusted with the size and quality of the pasties and peppered steaks the price has risen and the quality and quantity has reduced. I will know be going back to my local butcher where the pies and pastries may be more expensive but the quality and quantity far exceed Ginsters produce
peppered steak slice is tiny
Used to love their peppered steak slice but now its half the size and nearly double in price what the hell like companys should be ashamed of themselfs but they don't care about customers anymore all about the money

NO LONGER A GO TO PRODUCT Had a great affinity with Ginsters…
Had a great affinity with Ginsters products in the past sadly this no longer the case over the past couple of years it seems that there is an overall decline in standards. Poor quality ingredients smaller meat and veg content and the most awful pastry Then there's the price It's now the end of the line best purchasing [asties from local bakers or on line from fine established suppliers for instance Bideford's Blackwells Pasties Ltd 01237 472103
Never let you down
Never let you down, spot on warmed up in the oven with spuds and green beans, if you expect haute cusine then go to the Ritz and pay for it.
Gingsters ain't the Ritz it's propper filling man food.
Disappointing
Tried the large sausage roll for a change. I don't usually buy these from supermarkets

Ginsters mince pasty
Ginsters mince pasty, although it rated OK, very little meat in it, disappointing
Ginsters pepper steak slice.
Ginsters pepper steak slice.
Purchased the pepper steak slice,
Took it home to warm up.
Looked good the aroma was Mmmmm.
Bit into it gravy was lovely I must say some type of veg in there, two small pieces.
But sadly not one bit of steak. Gravy had a few strands of meat. Shame as was tasty.
Not fair Ginsters. Must do better.
Ginsters Chicken and Mushroom Pasty
Had a ginsters chicken and mushroom pasty. On first view, they have shrunk in size. But I pushed forward and put it into the air fryer for 6 minutes, as per the cooking instruction.
I will say the pasty was flaky in the most part. But every now and then there was slightly raw pastry, which put me off.
The filling. Well, this is what leaves my review so low.
There wasn't much, and what little was there had no seasoning, and just tasted rather bland. It was extremely underwhelming. I'm goi g to assume the sauce is mushroom based, as I had no mushrooms in the pasty.
So overall
Size was extremely disappointing considering the price these days
Pastry was good other than the raw parts, and before people say "you didn't cook it right". Please remember this is a ready to eat product
Filling was extremely disappointing. Not enough of it, and the taste was OK, but could have packed alot more of a punch.
Overall rating for me is a 2 out of five.
Good for a quick snack, but not a go to pasty for me.

Nothing like a cornish pasty
Nothing like a cornish pasty. It's awful. gristle and very bad pastry. It's a cheek to call it Cornish.
Very small and expensive

I’ve been buying ginsters pasties for…
I’ve been buying ginsters pasties for over 40 years ! I normally don’t make a fuss. But I need to bring to attention that lately.” The filling in the pasties has been regularly undercooked and low on the black pepper seasoning.
The potatoes and onions in the filling are so hard they are almost crunchy!
I know that energy prices are very high recently! But someone please read this ! And cook the potatoes a little longer!
Ginster - Never again!
It is very common for Ginster pasties to contain gristle so I rarely buy them. However, I have just tried to eat a Ginsters Chicken Tikka slice to fine a large inedible piece of chicken (well, I have to assume it was chicken) possibly a wing? The result - the rest of the pie thrown into the bin and a resolution never to buy Ginster products again, Disgusting!
Talk about shrinkflation
Talk about shrinkflation. Saw a peppered steak slice in supermarket and thought , hmm not had one of them for a while. Got it home and honestly it was tiny. Wouldn’t have fed my pet hamster. Filling has also been changed for the worse. Needless to say I am now a form Ginster customer. Come on Ginster if your le going to rip off your customers be more subtle about it. These things are tiny.
