Really happy with front door

Have only just ordered the door. So far have been told lots of things are unavailable. They don't offer you the price difference from all the things they can't provide but they've now told me (after ordering) that there's a £81 extra charge for them to fit it where I live. I put the postcode in when getting the quote!

The £81 was waivered and after speaking in the phone they will be redoing the amount I have to pay. Just a shame it's not done automatically without asking.

The door itself is lovely and the delivery was easy. Customer service very helpful when ordering.

I have knocked off one star due to phone call and emails received in error which were confusing and I had to keep going back to customer services to ask what it was about. And also didn’t get a delivery update via text or email so again had to call customer services

If I could give GFD a 0-star rating, I would. If you are considering purchasing bifold doors from GFD Homes, I seriously encourage you to think twice.

I placed an order with GFD Homes in September. During my conversation with the lovely sales representative, I expressed my urgent need for the doors. I was assured that the wait time would be a maximum of 4 to 6 weeks after the survey. I explained that this timeline was crucial for me as I have a young baby at home, and I would need to knock down a wall, which would leave my house cold and insecure. The sales representative reassured me that, due to the time of year, a 6-week wait was more than achievable, and they were actually completing installations in much less time, which gave me confidence.

I accepted the quote and was promptly given a survey date by Martindales Window Company. However, after checking their reviews, I became somewhat concerned due to numerous disgruntled customers and many 1-star reviews—though I noted that many of these were from insurance customers, so I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.

The survey was booked in September, but the surveyor arrived with absolutely no plans. I was left wondering how he was supposed to measure the windows. Luckily, I was on the phone with my father, who was able to assist. The survey was completed, and I was told it would take one month from that point.

A month passed, and naively thinking that installation would happen any day now, I learned that, five weeks later, they hadn't even ordered the doors. At this point, I was ready to cancel the order with GFD and voiced my concerns to someone on the phone. However, I worried that this would mean starting the whole process over, which I couldn’t afford time-wise, especially with a toddler involved. I asked the gentleman on the phone to contact the glass company and provide me with an exact installation date; if they couldn't commit, I would have to cancel. After another reassuring phone call, I decided to stick with GFD Homes, once again assured that it would be done within 4 weeks, with an installation date of December 4th.

Feeling hopeful, I took the 4th of December off work and arranged childcare for my child so that someone could be home for the window fitters. However, at 5 PM the night before the installation, I received a call informing me that they couldn't make it due to a delay—the glass was supposed to arrive the day before but hadn’t. GFD Homes knew two days prior to the installation that the glass hadn’t arrived, but they waited until the evening before to let me know.

I tried to call the next day but received no answer, so I left a message for a callback. Three days later, a lady called to inform me that my glass had been smashed and they would need to make more, which wouldn’t be ready until December 17th. She also mentioned that GFD does not provide any compensation for these delays.

Now, we have a new date of December 17th for glass delivery, but who knows when the installation will actually take place? My hope in this company is shattered. With empty promises, poor customer service, and no windows, I would strongly advise anyone looking for windows to look elsewhere. My experience has been nothing short of horrendous.

From start to finish this was a great experience. The use of technology to order the door, the use of technology to keep you informed at all points in time and then the final fit of the door was excellent. I have had a lot of jobs done recently and this company comes out eleven out of ten. Finally, the cost was half of what was quoted by a local firm. Superb going back for all the other doors to be done!

Really good experience from design to fitting. I found a Solidor door in a local shop but decided to search for a cheaper price online. This company were £450 cheaper for the same door. The guy that did the survey was on time and helpful. Martindales fitted the door and were really good as well. I had to call customer service about a mistake I made in the door handle ordered. The guy at the end of the phone was really helpful. Good experience all round.

Good quality door set supplied as promised and installed by a great team. Really pleased with the end result.

I don't usually leave reviews, but everything has been spot on to date, Carla was very helpful in quoting for bifold and window, patient making changes. CAD was perfect and clear once surveyed. Did not push for install but quoted both options. Price is very reasonable for quality of doors I recieved.
Special mention to the delivery driver who was very knowledgeable, experienced and helpful in making sure everything was deliver safe.
Installed today and builders were impressed with doors so let's see how they last.

Got exactly, the door we wanted at much better price then other companies without slipping on the quality. Excellent customer service and friendly delivery.
