Het contact met het management van France Villa was prima. Wij hebben in 2024 een huis gehuurd in Frankrijk en dat was heel goed. Vol vertrouwen huurden wij voor in juni 2025 de Villa Oljapetra in Kreta voor 3 weken. Ook keurig aangegeven dat onze dochter en schoonzoon 6 dagen kwamen i.v.m. de extra kosten. Ook het boeken ging bij Lydia wederom prima. Aangekomen bij de Villa werden wij ontvangen door de beheerster Sylvia. Een nogal aanwezige vrouw die alles beter weet. Het huis ligt prachtig met een prachtige uitzicht op de baai van Plakias. Het huis is van binnen gerenoveerd maar er zijn een aantal plekken die niet zijn gerenoveerd zoals de gedateerde badkamer. Ook beschikt het huis over maar 1 toilet. Dat is lastig als je een aantal dagen met 4 volwassenen bent. In de vallei waarin de villa zich bevindt waait zoveel wind dat het zwembad niet te gebruiken is. Het zwembad is ijskoud. Dit gaf de beheerster ook meteen aan, de wind is niet te doen hier en dat hebben wij geweten. Buiten zitten, niet mogelijk, tuinmeubilair zeer oncomfortabel als je toch buiten wilt zitten etc. Alleen wat het meest vervelende aan dit huis was is Lydia de (ex) eigenaresse van France Villa. Waar het contact eerst nog warm verliep bij de eerdere boeking in Frankrijk kreeg ik ineens na een aantal dagen een vijandig telefoontje. Sylvia de beheerster had aangegeven dat wij wat klachten hadden. Nu hoe haalde ik het in mijn hoofd om kritisch te zijn. Het gesprek liep totaal uit de hand. Mijn man, dochter en schoonzoon wilden ingrijpen zo onheus ben ik bejegend door Lydia. Nadat wij het gesprek emotioneel hebben gestopt heb ik niets meer van Lydia of het management gehoord. Sterker nog, wij mochten helemaal geen review schrijven op hun site terwijl dat jaar ervoor (na Frankrijk) dat werd aangemoedigd. Het heeft gezorgd voor een flinke smet op onze vakantie en ik laat mij voortaan nooit meer zo behandelen als klant.

Wij hebben nu 2x via hen geboekt, huizen zijn kwalitatief heel goed en ook nog betaalbaar.

We zijn al een paar jaar achter elkaar via Francevilla op vakantie geweest. Het ene huis nog mooier dan het andere. Alles is altijd netjes verzorgd en als je vragen had werden deze ook altijd snel beantwoord.

We hebben 3 keer een huis gehuurd via Francevilla en beide keren is het heel goed bevallen. Mooie huizen en alles is perfect geregeld.

Prachtige huizen op hele mooie locaties. Buitengewoon vriendelijke en persoonlijke benadering door zowel France Villa als door de eigenaren. Voor ons het ideale adres voor een mooie villa voor de vakantie.

Wij hebben persoonlijk een zeer goede ervaring met FranceVilla. Worden altijd goed geholpen krijgen altijd een goed advies. Bij eventuele problemen reageren zij direct en helpen zo aan een snelle oplossing. Hebben al meerdere jaren villa's gehuurd tot alle tevredenheid. Gewoon een fijne vakantie partner en zeker aan te bevelen.

Wij hebben de voorbije 13 jaar al zo'n 20tal reservaties via Francevilla geboekt in de Dordogne streek. Het contact met Thijs en Lydia en het maken van de reservaties is altijd heel vlot verlopen (ook al zijn wij echte last minute planners en boekers). Thijs en Lydia denken en zoeken altijd mee naar een gepaste locatie met maximale voorzieningen. Het aanbod van Francevilla is zeer ruim en de prijzen zeer aantrekkelijk! Alle vakantiehuizen die wij al bezocht hebben, waren telkens super alsook de ontvangst, gastvrijheid en dienstbaarheid van de eigenaars. Wij hopen via Francevilla nog vaak terug te keren naar de Dordogne. Familie De Ridder, Schilde.

Just booked our France getaway through FranceVilla again. Always have s great selection of villas to chose from, always quick to respond to any queries you may have. We have never been disappointed with any villas we have chosen over the years and we are sure this year will be no different.

Wij boeken al jaren diverse vakantiehuizen via Frans Villa. Wij zijn erg tevreden over de ondersteuning en adviesen die Thijs en Lydia ons geven. de vakantiewoningen die we uiteindelijk hebben geboekt voldeden altijd aan de verwachtingen en wat ons werd verteld. Wij hebben twee keer door door ziekte overwogen onze vakanties uit te stellen of te annuleren, maar na contact met hen hebben we besloten toch te gaan. Daar hebben we nooit spijt van gehad. Wanneer er bij een vakantiehuis aan mankement was ( dat kan nu eenmaal gebeuren) werd dat per omgaande opgelost. Ons advies is om bij boeking van een vakantie ook even contact op tenemen met Lydia en Gijs. Dan komt het helemaal goed.

Unfortunately, our paths crossed in January when we signed the agreement with Lydia Mennes and sent the payment for deposit. We agreed that we were bringing our four dogs with us with no mention of a cap on number of dogs allowed. In July, and in good faith, we informed Ms. Mennes that we now had five dogs to determine the amount of the final payment. She emphatically refused us bringing five dogs and also refused to revert to the owner of the property, Villa Parola, for final determination. She also refused to return our deposit or answer our arguments for doing so. Regrettably, we had to cancel our vacation to the lovely Dordogne this year. Ironically, afterwards it was suggested to us by an intermediary in the business that Villa Parola, as well as two other properties managed by Ms. Mennes, accept five dogs.
We suggest you stay clear of this woman and wish we had read this website earlier!

Were do I begin. In late 2021 we booked a beautiful holiday home for our 2022 joint family holiday. This was a very important break for us all as we’d recently lost an immediate family member and as a result, all needed something do together, reflect and enjoy.



In late spring 2022 I received an email from France-Villa telling me that the home had been double booked by the owner via another site and that the dates were not available. Subsequently were offered a two location stay which logistically, would not have been feasible for eleven people. Not to mention the upheaval and stress.



There were sincere apologies from Lydia and we were refunded a short time afterwards (hence this being a two star review) Amazingly we were able to find a spectacular place at short notice in northern Italy for the same dates. This meant that the crossings from the UK to France could remain in place. It was without doubt, one of the best vacations I had ever had. 



Last year, we give Franse-Villa a second chance and due to a cancellation offer, we booked a holiday home for two weeks near Beynac, one of my favourite villages.

The place was ok and the owners were genuinely lovely people. There were a few issues with mice but what do you expect from a countryside location. There are always going to be creatures.



Now, fast forward to just a few days ago. (Sunday) There had been some dialogue with Lydia about a place in the france for fourteen nights in late July, early August.

She had kindly sent over a few properties but I did a random search on their site and actually found one that was ideal, albeit very different. 

In her last email she stated that all the properties were “100% uptodate” on the website and thus, we immediately booked, received the confirmation and payment was next to follow ( from a Euro account to save on fees - waiting until Monday to organise with the bank) There were three days to settle to invoice.



A later that day, we received an email stating that in fact someone had actually booked seven of the fourteen nights just five minutes before us and the booking could not be honoured. I did ask how that was even possible when other booking tools would have looked out the booking as the dates were unavailable. I am yet to receive a response.



I strongly suspect that the very same thing has happened here as as it did in 2022 with the property being listed and booked elsewhere and Franse-Villa’s booking system being an offline brochure site without any live data / booking feeds.



Once again, we are back where we started and now need to look for a holiday letting which in Mid June is going to exceptionally tough.

I blame myself for trusting Lydia and her husband a second time for a family holiday, perhaps here in the UK there is a completely different sense of responsibility or loyalty for returning customers. 



Sad as it sounds, I simply cannot recommend Franse-Villa for any holiday bookings whatsoever.

I know there are some good reviews but honestly, ask yourself, would you risk booking a place then flights, car hire, crossings and getting everyone excited with the threat of a short notice cancellation?

We had a wonderful vacation Chateau de Sarrazac. We enjoyed a week with the family, including grandparents. The facilities were excellent. Everything in the chateau was clean and tidy and the pool was beautiful. On arrival there was a bottle of wine ready to start the vacation in "French style". In short: this castle is highly recommended!

Actually if you look at the reviews for Francevilla, the only 5* review is sent by them. I thought this was against the principals of Trustpilot?

Please check all the NORMAL reviews about FranceVilla. Aimee and Andrea are one and the same person. She uses alternative names to make FranceVilla look bad all over the internet. Sorry that some people prefer fighting over the internet instead of communicating normally.

We used France Villa to book our holiday to Chateau Sarrazac in Dordogne. The booking experience was very smooth - they had a range of beautiful looking properties and the process went smoothly. When we arrived the chateau architecture is breathtaking. So far, so good.

However, on arrival - our nightmare started. The property was filthy with rodent droppings in the kitchen drawers, 2 toilets broken, seats covered in bird poo, mattresses covered in mildew, curtains missing, filthy pool area . . the list goes on. I have photo evidence of everything - which I'm grateful for, because when trying to claim some money - even the 150Euro cleaning fee - I was told no, and that they'd sue me for slander if I left a negative review!

If only they had been polite, not accused us of putting the mouse droppings there ourselves and ensured everything was remedied when we were there - instead of the torrent of foul emails which turned a bad situation worse.

Everything was reported on arrival, as per the T&C's yet they won't let me contact the poor owners . . .which is also in their T&C's.

I would strongly advise you NOT to book with France Villa.
