First Tech Credit Union is the dedicated credit union for employees working in the Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) sector in Ireland. First Tech was established in 1961 and was originally called the Civil Service Credit Union and later became the Telecom Eireann employees credit union and then ESCCU. It was renamed First Tech Credit Union in 2020. Key member benefits include competitive rates on personal loans, various savings options and insurance benefits at no extra cost. Members can borrow up to €120,000* and the maximum savings threshold for individual members is €100,000. (*Terms and Conditions apply). First Tech Credit Union is member-owned and not-for-profit with all profits being returned to members in the form of reduced fees, lower loan rates and attractive dividends. It is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors. In recent years, First Tech has built strong relationships with many companies across the ICT sector, from multi-nationals to SMEs. First Tech works with these companies and their employees to provide information and advice on First Tech’s products and services. These members value the personal and trustworthy service First Tech provides on a daily basis. First Tech Credit Union is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.

I found getting a loan the worst experience and felt it was because I had retired I had plenty of assets to cover loan and no face to face also asked for things to be sent in pdf file
I have coffee with retirees for eir and alot have found it not as assemble as the banks who offer lower interest rates . I find the counter staff amazing amazing the credit union was set up for people to stop them going to money lenders and now the y can't use common sense and be there especially for people like me who are almost 40years in one and whre my mother volunteered for years in Harold's Cross credit union

Application made so easy.
I can complete all of my queries from my sittingroom. I made my request for loan which was approved on a few days and the amount requested was in my bank account immediately. Ease of application plus sped of approval and delivery was excellent.

Their customer service is first rate. The website can be a little clunky to use from a phone but is still easy enough.

First Tech CU has transformed by day to day banking
First Tech CU has transformed by day to day banking - I have commenced using Budget account this year - and it is an amazing service to support household budgeting planning and year 2 I have switched most of my DDs to the Credit Union.
I love dealing with First Tech CU as the speed of response is exemplary and you deal with "people" V call queues in call centres.
Their App I feel is easy to access, navigate and secure.
