This credit card is fraud, they hold your payment so they can charge a late fee. The reverse the payment saying my bank said there is a stop payment on it and charged me $25. The bank told me they don’t know what this credit card company is talking about. They reversed all my payments and are charging me late fees.
I’m going to report them to my state attorney’s fraud department.
First Savings Credit Card (Blaze/LN/Legacy) is shamefully exploiting consumers in hardship instead of helping them. Despite repeated efforts on my part — providing full transparency on my job loss, requesting hardship support, and demanding communication by mail only — this company has done nothing but assess late fees, inflate minimum payments, and push me toward “debt management” rather than taking responsibility.
Your representative told me “you need debt management,” not an actual hardship plan. That’s insulting, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable. While I’m under active regulatory review with the CFPB, OCC, and DFPI, you doubled my minimum and kept charging fees. That’s a blatant violation of basic consumer-protection expectations.
I will continue filing additional complaints until First Savings is held accountable for its bad-faith practices and refusal to reasonably assist consumers in financial hardship. Avoid this issuer until they begin acting like a legitimate creditor, not a predatory one.
First Savings Bank and their family of credit cards — First Savings Credit Card, Blaze, Show, Legacy, and Taz — are predatory, deceptive, and abusive toward customers.
After losing my job, I reached out for hardship support on ALL of these cards. I had already been on a 6-month hardship plan that ended in April, but now I’m being told I have to “wait a full year” before I can qualify again — even though I can’t afford the minimum payments.
Every rep I’ve spoken to across these brands has been completely useless and scripted. They refuse to provide written options, offer no flexibility, and keep repeating the same canned line: “You don’t qualify, you need to pay the minimum.” That’s not customer support — that’s pushing struggling customers into deeper debt.
These companies know exactly what they’re doing. They trap people with high-interest cards, refuse to work with you when you fall on hard times, and hide behind policies designed to make customers fail. I’ve been a loyal customer, and this is how they treat people after job loss? No accountability, no compassion, and zero willingness to help.
If you’re considering getting any of these cards — First Savings, Blaze, Show, Legacy, or Taz — DON’T. They’re all the same company, operating under different names to reel people in. They profit off hardship and leave you completely on your own when you need help the most. Avoid them at all costs.
Worst credit union ever. I also had my account suspended after making all my payments ahead of schedule. While dealing with a death in the family as well. I needed to pay a bill. Once that bill came thru. I also canceled my account. Still having issues with them. After my account is closed.
I received a card w a 750 dollar limit. I used up 343.00 in a week, than paid the total balance a week later. They say the payment was larger than usual, and they are suspending my account. I called them and closed the account immediately. These are the Indians in Sioux Falls. Steer clear.
I have a First Savings CC. One month, I changed the checking account in which I use to pay the First Savings bill. Because I changed the checking account, they locked down my card without my knowledge. Of course that lead to an embarrassing decline standing at a line at a store. It’s none of their damn business where or what account I pay my bill from.
Needless to say, I have already opened another card to transfer my balance to.
Received this card, activated, and annual fee charged. I paid off the annual fee with 100% of my available credit supposedly ok to use. (showing available both online and in their app) I attempted to use this card a dozen times, and authorization has been declined 12/12 times. (Attempted purchase were for approx 20-30% of my available credit, decline code CD) HORRIBLE card company.
Didn't activate the card and already getting billed and plenty of phone calls not worth it!!!!
I paid my balance off on the 16th of December and the payment posted the next day. However, when I checked online to see my balance, the balance remained as it was prior to the payment, even though the account was showing the payment. I called the company and was informed that the company was withholding the payment and it would not reflect on my account until the 28th of December. I had never experienced anything like this with any credit card company. It was during Christmas and it was completely idiotic to prevent a customer from using their credit card during the holidays. I immediately closed the account. This company is completely inept. Do not waste your time with them as I did.
Customer service by the name of Lorie very unprofessional couldn't help me out at all made my card declined three times locked my card then I had to speak to a supervisor. I asked to get an email so I can review them and they decline they said they won't do that they said the computer does it on it's own.
They make it difficult to view your account, they charge an annual fee to your card without notice and then charge an over balance to the account, when you speak to a representative all they say is check your account on website IF YOU DIDNT GET NOTICE OF FEES. MY QUESTION??? WHY GO PAPERLESS IF YOU DONT GET EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS??? SO I ASKED TO GO BACK TO PAPER AND SHE SAID YOU GOT TO DO IT YOURSELF ON WEBSITE...I AM TOTALLY DISGUSTED WITH THIS CARD!
Terrible credit card. High annual fees high interest rates, very low credit limits; they charge fees for payments with debit cards. They are so behind the times. Their website needs major improvement. I don't recommend them. There are so many more options out there. Shop around.
This company is a total rip off. I paid the credit card in full and have the cashed check to prove it. After the check was cashed on 11/7 I called a week later to see what was happening. They said they did not receive my check to send them the canceled check from my family trust. I sent to them via fax ( what company still uses fax?) and they said they were sorry that they would apply the payment. I called 2 weeks later and they still have not applied the amount - they gave me 211.00 dollars of credit. I even overpaid the account in case I missed some interest and have never been late in the 7 plus years I have had the account, not a single day. When I asked abut the overage and when I could expect a refund check, they said that i would have to wait until the check cleared December 1st and the it would be 2 weeks after that until they could issue a check. I had a 4000.00 limit on the account that I never was late on and i paid the account in full and even paid 411.00 more than what was owed to make sure I had all the interest covered and this is how I am treated? I closed the account as anyone that has First Savings as the issuing bank on their credit card should. Not to mention the stupid interest rates they charge. RIPOFF_ buyer beware!!!!
While getting the card was easy enough, the interest rate is a little high but with not so great credit you have to expect that. But when you pay your bill on-time or even early and always pay more than the minimum due, you would expect them to honor the 6month rate increase that they claim to offer. Here it is 10 months in and I have yet to get an increase. Never had a late payment, always pay more than the minimum and they tell me my credit score wasn't high enough to get the increase. The other 3 cards I have (different companies) all gave me 3month to 6 month increases. I guess this is a card I will just pay off and cancel.
