Board Lost, Threats Made, Delays, and No Resolution After Months

I feel it’s important to share my experience with Evolve UK so other customers know what they may be dealing with.

I originally sent my Evolve Hadean in for repair. Evolve kept my board for months with very few updates. On 8 July, I received an email saying that if I did not pay the repair invoice within 30 days, my board would either be returned unrepaired at my cost or disposed of. Under that pressure, I paid the £567.40 invoice.

After paying, I then found out the battery they invoiced me for wasn’t even in stock. I was left waiting for over a month for the part to arrive, with no proactive communication, I had to keep chasing myself.

When the repair was finally completed, Evolve arranged return delivery through their chosen courier. On 17 September it was marked as “delivered”, but nothing was delivered. I reported this the same day.

After weeks of back-and-forth, I was told the courier could not provide GPS evidence and the board had been lost in transit. Evolve then admitted that their claim to DHL was denied because they had not been submitted the claim within DHL’s 21-day window — a delay caused by their handling.

More than seven weeks have passed. I’ve been left without my board, without the £567.40 service I paid for, and without any fair offer to compensate me for the loss of a working Hadean with a brand-new battery.

What concerned me most is that, when I tried to resolve this, Evolve UK quoted the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 against me - a law designed to protect consumers from traders. Using that legislation in this context felt inappropriate and intimidating for a customer simply asking to be compensated for a board lost in their care.

I’ve now had to issue a formal Letter Before Action, as I’ve exhausted every attempt to resolve this reasonably.

I’ve been an Evolve fan for years, but this has been the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I sincerely hope the parent company addresses how the UK distributor handles repairs and customer issues, because this has been unacceptable from start to finish.

The board is great but..

The board is great but...
After 9 months of owning the hadean cardon series, the board randomly cuts out at 80% battery and wouldn't turn back on. So, I called evolve to explain the issue and they said 'no problem, send it iinto our store in northampton. We should have it fixed and sent back within 2 weeks'. Thats great!

...a month later I called asking where the board is and they 'forgot to send it back' and when i recieved it was in the exact same condition. Gets to 80% and turns off.

That's strange but it's fine, mistakes happen... so i sent the board back again. They told me 'it's been fixed, we gave it a test run it and everything is working as it should and we will send it back as soon as possible' after another 3 weeks of waiting I recieved the board and it was in the SAME CONDITION it was the first time i sent it, still broken and turns off at 80%+...

I sent it back AGAIN for the 3rd time just after the 1 year warrenty had expired. they suddenly tell me the motor controller was water damaged... IMPOSSIBLE! i specifically made sure never to let even a drop of water touch my hadean carbon series. Why they never noticed this the first time i sent it in to be fixed, I don't know... anyways, I swallowed my pride and said F it, I'll pay the 320 pounds you're asking for, I just want the board fixed (BIGGEST MISTAKE I EVER MADE)

another month goes by, I recieve the board for the 3rd time and guess what... IT CUT OUT at 80% AGAIN!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!?? HOW IS IT STILL NOT FIXED? I ask for a refund of the 320 quid motor controller which clearly wasnt the problem and INSTEAD of refunding me they said 'we can't refund you because the warrenty doesnt cover water damage... but we'll send you a battery that you can fit yourself. You can only imagine how frustrated i was hearing this.

This whole process took 4 months and cost me 320 for a so called 'water damaged motor controller' ( which I believe they damaged on purpose because why didnt they notice the water errosion the first time i sent the board in???)

half a hear passes, my phase remote trigger got jammed and then would'nt calibrate. ( at this point, I'm dreading sending anything back into evolve after my last experience but seeing as the only store in the UK is in northampton, I have no choice) This time however is an easy fix, really, just replace the housing for the remote. what's the worst that can possibly happen?... They overcharged 73 pounds to replace JUST the housing of a phase remote. I confronted them and they lowered the price to 32 pounds. (Strange how you can accidentally overcharge your customers and only until you are confronted you rectify your mistake)

I sent the remote in on the 4th of August 2025, they were OUT OF STOCK on housings for the phase remote and am told they restock on the 14th next week and they will keep me updated. I call back and I pay for the service on the 16th of August and get a confirmation email saying it has been shipped and will arrive on the 21st of august 2025. I call back on september the 4th for an update and guess what... THEY HAVENT EVEN FIXED THE REMOTE!!! they apologise and when i ask for compesation they say they cant compensate me or send me a remote to use for the mean time, IT IS NOW the 17th of SEPTEMBER and i still havent recieved my remote...

Summary:
EVOVLE are con artists who over promise and underdeliver. Who over charge and take FULL advantage of their customers by selling them boards which can only be fixed using evolve 'technicians' that, for some reason always happen to be out of stock for even the most basic items. Jack and Josh, their only 2 employee's, have the worst customer service you will ever experience and here's why: they forget to ship items back to customers and say they'll keep you updated but never do. They 'accidentally' over charge customers for out of stock items and then say 'it has been shipped and is with royal mail' when the item hasn't even been fixed let alone sent out for delivery. (i have receipts and emails as proof) and when I ask to speak to a manager they REPEATADLY lie about manager not being in the store, and then the oldest trick in the book - they pretend they can't hear you then hang up and don't call back.

I never leave reviews but to those of you thinking about buying from Evolve, SAVE your money, time and energy because it's honestly not worth it.

Evolve more like out of stock

Nothing against customers service uk, those guys were always polite- unfortunately that Doe not change the fact that most of consumable(tyres,motor,battery ect)are constantly out of stock. The main reason I choose Evolve despite overpriced boards was UK based branch, meaning easy access to parts if need with next day delivery. Just though waiting 60days to get parts from China from other skateboard manufacture was instant turn down- little did I know that I'll be forced to actually use 3rd party parts to keep My skate on road that include the 60 days delivery. Of course some parts are custom made (Evolve) can't be replaced with 3rd parts so unless you prepared to rebuild yr board you stuck and have to wait and hope that 1day you may get what you need. I can only suggests look elsewhere before you invest. Plenty competition now days delivering equal quality ,service and more likely cheaper. Again nothing against blokes from Evolve UK.

The good and the so-so

Firstly, the board is amazing - I bought a Hadean Bamboo All-Terrain.

Secondly, the staff at the London office are such a breeze of fresh air to work with. I dealt with Mat, Callum, Billy and Jade and was very well received.

The company does suffer from some baby problems that can be annoying but in general, the kindness of the staff and the willingness to aid and rectify when something has gone wrong means it is impossible to leave anything but a 5-star review.

Best e-skate service around

The team at the Evolve shop are the best –– they always provide a high standard of service which is what keeps me purchasing Evolve boards. I can't imagine not being able to pop into the shop and have my boards serviced/fixed.

Being able to charge here is a huge bonus too :)

Amazing service!

Evolve Electric Skateboards provides exceptional service and products. Their customer service team went above and beyond to ensure I found the perfect skateboard, and the GTR Bamboo series is powerful, sleek, and intuitive to ride. I highly recommend Evolve to anyone in the market for an electric skateboard!

They went above and beyond what was required. Fixing, advising and educating me on best practice. I ride all PEVs and evolve UK are the best in service.

Awful design, eye-watering prices, terrible customer service

Board got broken in no time , Bad design , bad product for an eye watering price. This is all forgivable if the company makes up in service and repairs with acceptable customer service. But those are a miss too. in fact terrible. Took my broken board for repair because there a few drops of water on it which broke it entirely. Imagine a product meant to be used on rugged terrain can't deal with a few drops. The service is a joke , first they said they can't even look at my board for weeks because of backlogs. After more than a month they did a sales gimmick and sold me a refurbished battery pack for £350. After collecting it it broke in a day again. Took it back again they claimed a different component broke this time and wanted 400 more. At this point they didn't guarantee that anymore parts won't fail. So I ditched them and my board with them. they can keep their poor product to themselves.

Happy

I've bought many times and items from Evolve esk8. Never had a problem. Good value for money.

I did recommend Evolve to other esk8 fans. They found products are good quality and lasting many years.

This years Black Friday and Christmas Sale discounts were very dissapointing.... Like 7% off price. Went for Loaded Unlimited purely on price

I purchased an item over 2 weeks ago

I purchased an item over 2 weeks ago. They took my money and despite multiple attempts to contact them, I have not had a single reply. They have had an excuse of moving premises but If you take money you stand by your obligations. Terrible company and useless for contacting.

Amazing company

Amazing company - people are super nice and helpful - their products are amazing. Also they have done repairs out of warranty + provide quick and easy repairs and any support.

I have a GTX, and it's by far the best board I've ever ridden. I have also convinced a lot of friends to buy boards and they have all been extremely happy with theirs also.

Amazing company, amazing products - wish them the very best !

Gtx is amazing

Had a few different boards, evolve gtx is amazing.
Ordered a few parts from there shop and it comes next day.
Nothing like a evolve skateboard! Very happy with my board and the brand.
Battery had sag, but the board is amazing to ride.
107mm is like butter 😉

Will be getting a GTR at some point.

An awful experience from start to…

An awful experience from start to finish, I've had to involve my credit card company in a refund claim for a faulty product as Evolve appear to not understand UK trade laws.
