The board is great but...
After 9 months of owning the hadean cardon series, the board randomly cuts out at 80% battery and wouldn't turn back on. So, I called evolve to explain the issue and they said 'no problem, send it iinto our store in northampton. We should have it fixed and sent back within 2 weeks'. Thats great!
...a month later I called asking where the board is and they 'forgot to send it back' and when i recieved it was in the exact same condition. Gets to 80% and turns off.
That's strange but it's fine, mistakes happen... so i sent the board back again. They told me 'it's been fixed, we gave it a test run it and everything is working as it should and we will send it back as soon as possible' after another 3 weeks of waiting I recieved the board and it was in the SAME CONDITION it was the first time i sent it, still broken and turns off at 80%+...
I sent it back AGAIN for the 3rd time just after the 1 year warrenty had expired. they suddenly tell me the motor controller was water damaged... IMPOSSIBLE! i specifically made sure never to let even a drop of water touch my hadean carbon series. Why they never noticed this the first time i sent it in to be fixed, I don't know... anyways, I swallowed my pride and said F it, I'll pay the 320 pounds you're asking for, I just want the board fixed (BIGGEST MISTAKE I EVER MADE)
another month goes by, I recieve the board for the 3rd time and guess what... IT CUT OUT at 80% AGAIN!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!?? HOW IS IT STILL NOT FIXED? I ask for a refund of the 320 quid motor controller which clearly wasnt the problem and INSTEAD of refunding me they said 'we can't refund you because the warrenty doesnt cover water damage... but we'll send you a battery that you can fit yourself. You can only imagine how frustrated i was hearing this.
This whole process took 4 months and cost me 320 for a so called 'water damaged motor controller' ( which I believe they damaged on purpose because why didnt they notice the water errosion the first time i sent the board in???)
half a hear passes, my phase remote trigger got jammed and then would'nt calibrate. ( at this point, I'm dreading sending anything back into evolve after my last experience but seeing as the only store in the UK is in northampton, I have no choice) This time however is an easy fix, really, just replace the housing for the remote. what's the worst that can possibly happen?... They overcharged 73 pounds to replace JUST the housing of a phase remote. I confronted them and they lowered the price to 32 pounds. (Strange how you can accidentally overcharge your customers and only until you are confronted you rectify your mistake)
I sent the remote in on the 4th of August 2025, they were OUT OF STOCK on housings for the phase remote and am told they restock on the 14th next week and they will keep me updated. I call back and I pay for the service on the 16th of August and get a confirmation email saying it has been shipped and will arrive on the 21st of august 2025. I call back on september the 4th for an update and guess what... THEY HAVENT EVEN FIXED THE REMOTE!!! they apologise and when i ask for compesation they say they cant compensate me or send me a remote to use for the mean time, IT IS NOW the 17th of SEPTEMBER and i still havent recieved my remote...
Summary:
EVOVLE are con artists who over promise and underdeliver. Who over charge and take FULL advantage of their customers by selling them boards which can only be fixed using evolve 'technicians' that, for some reason always happen to be out of stock for even the most basic items. Jack and Josh, their only 2 employee's, have the worst customer service you will ever experience and here's why: they forget to ship items back to customers and say they'll keep you updated but never do. They 'accidentally' over charge customers for out of stock items and then say 'it has been shipped and is with royal mail' when the item hasn't even been fixed let alone sent out for delivery. (i have receipts and emails as proof) and when I ask to speak to a manager they REPEATADLY lie about manager not being in the store, and then the oldest trick in the book - they pretend they can't hear you then hang up and don't call back.
I never leave reviews but to those of you thinking about buying from Evolve, SAVE your money, time and energy because it's honestly not worth it.
