On several occasion's during my visit to Evans Halshaw whilst waiting for my vehicle to be serviced, the desk receptionist made a repeated effort to sell me a servicing account based on monthly payments….on each occasion I politely told her that I did not want to take up her offer but still received an outline on paper listing the servicing schedule and monthly payments required attached to my final bill for my vehicle being serviced on that day. This kind of pressure selling was also done by her on my last visit for servicing one year ago despite me telling her that I was not interested at any time…..

I wanted to purchase a second hand car from the Wigan branch that I'd seen on Autotrader. I had no car so this was a pretty urgent purchase, this was 17th May.
I called them and they said someone from used car sales would call me back. I waited and got no call back, I tried again later on and managed to speak to someone who informed me that the car wasn't on the pitch as it was in their storage area which was a few minutes away, he said he'd go up and check it was available and call back. NO CALL BACK again, so I tried to phone again 4 times, no answer on 2 calls and cut off without answering on 2. I decided, since I really wanted to look at the car that I'd drive the 30 mins to the pitch to see if I could actually speak to someone and view the car. On arrival, we had a walk round and found the car - it was on the pitch and at the back of some other cars so had been there all along!!
There was some bodywork required but they told me they could do this within a few days, I took it for a test drive and put a £99 holding deposit on the car, I said I would get in touch on the Sunday (18th May) to let them know if I definitely wanted the car and how I would be paying. I was told, not to worry about the deposit, if I chose not to proceed then the money would go back in my account within 5 days of requesting.
I tried to call 5 times on the Sunday and didn't get a response, I was going to proceed with the purchase but unfortunately, due to the sheer lack of communication, the inaccuracies on Sat relating to the car and the worry that if I needed to act on warranty I wouldn't be able to get hold of anyone, I conceded defeat and sent an email on the Sunday afternoon requesting my deposit back. It is now the 2nd of June 2025 and I still haven't received my money back. I've emailed but of course, no response.... I'm now in touch with my bank who are going to try to retrieve the monies but are telling me that this sort of transaction can take 30 days so essentially they have told me 2 lies as far as I can see and they haven't be bothered to make contact and apologise.
The customer service is shocking and I won't entertain them ever again and would not recommend them as a company to buy a car from. I did however, manage to spend my £8k at a different garage an hours drive away from my house, it was ready the day after I viewed it, the communication was great and I ended up very happy.
At this time, still waiting to hear back from Evans Halshaw Wigan and still waiting for my £99......disgusting service levels and certainly not what you expect from a main dealer.

We purchased a car in dec, on driving car home from garage had to get AA out, as it wouldn’t go into gear on M62. It was then driven to garage in Middlesbrough. They had car for numerous months, no contact from garage, at this time we didn’t know who was paying for car as I was told clutch isn’t under the 14day money back. The lack or response & communication from the sales manager was appalling, on collection of car in Feb, car wouldn’t go into gear again whilst I was coming off slip road. ( I was very scared) Got Aa out again, car went back to garage. Wigan were once again not replying to Middlesbrough’s emails or calls as to if they can repair car. On dropping car back of to myself there was then another problem. Middlesbrough said they would have to drop car of at my home unrepaired because Wigan garage were not replying to there calls & when I refused to accept it I got legal advice. We have just got a refund after paying tax & insurance since dec. & slot of unnecessary stress, & numerous emails to the manager of garage.

Excellent service from Evans Halshaw Wigan. The car was collected for service and MOT, great communication from them throughout the process. Mick who collected and returned the car was very polite and efficient as were the team on the phone, won't hesitate in using their service again.

I recently bought a Vauxhall Mokka from John and couldn't be happier with the experience. From start to finish, John was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. We bought a car on the last day of February from Evans Halshaw at Wigan Vauxhall. The salesman was great and the whole deal was good natured. I had paid £99 deposit to hold the car while I viewed it (told it was refundable whether or not I purchased the car). At the point of sale the business manager asked if we would take out a loan with their finance people, Stellantis, in order to complete purchase before the end of the month. They offered me a goodwill sum of money plus interest accrued when I paid off the loan within the cooling off period. After doing that and collecting the car it took many emails and phone calls to get the money (not all of it) paid into my account. The deposit, I was told, couldnt be repaid until the car was collected - not a requirement as it would have been repaid as long as I kept the viewing appointment. After 18 days and many emails the deposit arrived. It is now 39 days since the purchase and I just received some of the outstanding money (not the whole of the goodwill payment). The whole affair has left a bad taste which was totally unnecessary.

Car was collected for service at the time stated and delivered back to my house with no issues. It had also been cleaned. A video was also sent detailing an issue with the car to show me what was wrong with the tyres. It is the first time I have used this garage and I was really impressed with the whole process from booking the appointment to delivery of my car and also the efficient payment process at the end.

Carwow and Evans Halshaw advertised an Astra Ultra at £23.423 however on 01.05.2025 I was told the offer ended 30.04.2025.

Being profoundly deaf makes lots of simple things in life a bit difficult. Thanks to Evans Halshaw getting my car serviced and MOT was easy.
