Company is filing for bankruptcy... beware.

This matter concerns an application for eco-energy installation works, originally approved on medical grounds in support of my late husband, who suffered from an autoimmune condition. Regrettably, he passed away after the application had been approved but before the works were completed.
Since that time, there has been a consistent failure to deliver the agreed scope of works. I have been informed by representatives of the provider that funding has ceased for all aspects of their operations except for solar panel installations. This raises serious concerns regarding the company’s ability and intention to fulfil its contractual obligations.
By way of example, insulation works were carried out to the property; however, these appear not to meet required building standards and have resulted in structural concerns, including subsidence. I have been unable to obtain the necessary certification for these works, which has materially affected the marketability and value of my home.
In addition, existing radiators were removed as part of the planned upgrade but have not been reinstalled or replaced. This has left the property without adequate heating. I have been forced to rely on temporary electric convector heaters, which are significantly more expensive to run—approximately three times the cost of my previous heating system. Despite raising this issue, the provider has offered no meaningful support or remedy.
Solar panels have been installed but were left unconnected for a prolonged period. Contractors recently attended the property without prior notice, commenced work, and then left stating that additional parts were required. No clear timeline for completion has been provided.
Furthermore, key elements of the installation remain outstanding, including the air source heat pump, replacement radiators, and associated tank/boiler system. I have received no confirmed schedule for these works. I have also been advised that the plumbing and heating aspect of the scheme has lost its funding, which calls into question whether completion is feasible at all.
Based on my experience, I have serious concerns about the provider’s operational practices. It appears they may be selectively delivering services while continuing to trade, despite being significantly reduced in capacity. I have been informed by staff that the company is operating with a fraction of its original workforce and may be facing insolvency.
There are also legitimate concerns regarding the management and allocation of scheme funding following local authority approval. It is unclear whether funds are being appropriately ring-fenced for individual projects or instead used at the company’s discretion. Such practices, if accurate, would be wholly inappropriate and warrant further scrutiny.
Given the above, I cannot recommend engaging this provider for eco-energy installations. I will continue to monitor the situation and reserve the right to update this statement as matters progress.
My intention now is to: Contact my local council
Ask whether they:
Approved my case under ECO Flex;
Allocated funding specifically for my property as I know having worked for
council that they take this very seriously if residents are left stuck.

We take concerns of this nature seriously and have reviewed the points you have raised internally. While we fully respect your right to share your experience, we do need to clarify that Eco Providers is not filing for bankruptcy. This statement is incorrect - we are continuing to trade and operate as normal.

In relation to your property, the position is more complex than your review suggests. Our records show that we attended site to progress the air source heat pump installation; however, the proposed radiator specification and agreed heat pump location were rejected on site, meaning the installation could not proceed as originally designed. Following this, there were a number of discussions with you to review alternative options and try to agree a way forward.

We also understand that concerns were raised regarding the heat pump location and the aesthetics of the radiators provided under the scheme. This was discussed in detail with you, and our design team explained that the system must meet the property’s heat loss calculations. Designer radiators are not always suitable for achieving the required output.

For clarity, the solar installation and insulation measures were not completed under the scheme due to the time taken to reach a decision on the radiator changes. In addition, the ECO4 funding closed earlier than anticipated, which meant these measures could no longer be claimed for — this was outside of our control.

At multiple stages, our team made efforts to resolve matters, review design concerns, revisit the heating proposal, and agree practical solutions with you. It is therefore not accurate to suggest that no support or resolution was offered.

We fully appreciate that the project did not conclude as originally intended and regret the frustration this has caused. However, it is important that any public review reflects the facts accurately.

Eco Providers were excellent from start to finish. The whole process was handled professionally, communication was clear throughout, and the team made everything feel straightforward and well organised.

From the first enquiry, they took the time to explain the options available, answer all of our questions, and make sure we understood what would work best for our home. The installation team were friendly, punctual, and worked to a very high standard. They completed everything efficiently, kept the area tidy, and were respectful throughout.

What really stood out was how helpful and reassuring everyone was. It is rare to find a company that combines great customer service with quality workmanship, but Eco Providers did exactly that. Disaster from start to finish - AVOID

We applied for an ECO4 grant and were approved for insulation, solar panels, and a heat pump. Unfortunately, our experience with this company has been extremely poor and deeply disappointing.
Communication throughout the process was unacceptable. There appeared to be a high level of staff turnover, making it difficult to speak with the same person consistently or receive clear and timely responses. The insulation team arrived a day earlier than scheduled at 4pm, offered no apology, and informed us that the work had to be completed immediately. In contrast, the solar panel installation team arrived as planned, completed their work efficiently, and were polite and professional — the only positive experience we had.
The heat pump installation was due to begin on a Monday. A van arrived with all the equipment, but no engineers attended. The installation was postponed for two weeks, after which a team did arrive. While they were initially friendly and accommodating, the quality of the work carried out was extremely poor.
Over the course of the installation, multiple pipes were connected incorrectly. One error caused the water tank to overfill, resulting in flooding of our utility room. Electrical wiring was cut through and then inadequately repaired, leaving it dangerously close to pipework. Structural damage was also caused: an engineer put a foot through our living room ceiling, carpets were damaged, and numerous items belonging to our children were broken.
The work overran and required further attendance the following week while we were away. I arranged for someone to be present to allow access to the property. Upon returning home, we were shocked by the condition of the upstairs area. Floorboards had not been screwed down, a floorboard was missing in our son’s bedroom and concealed by carpet, and various pieces of rubbish had been left underneath the carpet and simply covered over.
We spent several weeks chasing the company to address these issues, during which multiple people attended our property. On several occasions, the incorrect tradesperson was sent — for example, a plumber was sent to plaster a hole in the ceiling. In addition, I had to repeatedly chase essential paperwork, often receiving no response at all.
We later discovered that one of the radiators was not functioning due to incorrect installation. This required yet another visit, during which floorboards had to be lifted again to rectify the issue.
I have photographs of all of the problems and these have been provided; however, they do not fully capture the extent of the disruption and damage. Using this company is the biggest regret we have had regarding our home. While most issues have now been partially resolved, the floorboards — which were supposedly replaced — were poorly repaired and are now failing. We are currently paying out of our own money to have this corrected properly.
During visits, three members of staff made comments such as, “Well, you got it for free.” This was both inappropriate and offensive. We are working individuals who qualified legitimately for the scheme. We pay taxes and energy bills that fund this programme, and such remarks are entirely unacceptable.
Approximately four months after the work was completed, scaffolding was erected at our property with no prior communication or explanation. During this time, the company attempted to remove two solar panels, claiming they had not met compliance requirements due to being fitted incorrectly against the approved roof plan. After multiple conversations, it was agreed that the panels would be repositioned rather than removed. Despite this agreement, they have not returned to finish the whole of the work. They were scheduled to attend on two separate occasions but failed to turn up both times. The work remains unfinished, the scaffolding is still in place, and I have received no response to my emails requesting updates.
In summary, we would strongly advise others to avoid this company. We fully expected a degree of disruption and the occasional issue; however, this project caused consistent problems over a period of three to four months and fell far below any reasonable standard of workmanship or professionalism.

Fantastic service!

These guys were absolutely brilliant! They fitted our Eco4 grant (air source heating & hot water & solar panels) , along with some additional gear (batteries and and Emergency power switch). From the spec and design work the office did, through to the plumbers, solar panel roofers to the sparkies who wired it all up, all the staff were amazing. The work took about 10 working days with surprisingly minimal disruption and mess considering there were floorboards up! And now we have a lovely warm house and lower electricity bills, plus if there are ever any power cuts, we're fine. If you're thinking about getting an Eco4 grant, crack on as the grants are only around till the end of the year!

Misleading ECO4 assessment, poor communication, and weeks of wasted time

I had a deeply frustrating experience with ecoproviders.co.uk while trying to secure an ECO4 boiler grant for my mother.

From the outset, they confirmed that she was eligible, arranged a survey visit, and repeatedly reassured us that the application was progressing positively. This process began on 4th December 2025, and at no point were we warned that the property’s Grade II listed status might make the application unworkable.

Only at a very late stage did they withdraw from the application, stating that they could not proceed due to potential planning permission delays associated with a listed building. This was despite them having full information about the property from the start. We have also been advised that the criteria for ECO4 funding does not have limitations to Grade II listed buildings.

What made the situation worse was the lack of communication. We were later told that they had “tried to call” on 9th January 2026 to inform us of the issue, but no voicemail, email, or written update was ever left. After that date, I made several calls chasing progress, yet no one disclosed that the application had effectively been declined. It was only during a call on 28th January 2026 that we were finally told the case would not proceed.

The result was nearly two months of wasted time, false reassurance, and unnecessary stress for a vulnerable household with an unreliable boiler.

It is difficult not to conclude that eligibility was confirmed prematurely, only for the case to be abandoned once it became more complex or commercially inconvenient. If listed buildings are genuinely problematic under their process, this should be made clear at the outset, not after surveys and repeated assurances.

I would strongly caution anyone considering ecoproviders.co.uk to be aware that an initial “approval” does not necessarily mean your case will be delivered.

Overall, a very disappointing experience and a process that feels misleading and poorly managed. It has left my mother upset and distressed as funding ends in March 2026 and Eco Providers has waisted almost 2 months of time.

We understand how stressful it can be for a family, particularly when an elderly or vulnerable household member is dealing with an unreliable boiler, and we appreciate how important it was for you to try to secure a solution for your mother.

That said, we need to clarify several points in this review.

Eco Providers did not carry out any installation work, nor was any funding approved or committed. As with all ECO4 enquiries, the early stages involve initial eligibility and technical feasibility checks, which are not an approval or a guarantee of delivery.

While ECO4 funding does not automatically exclude Grade II listed properties, planning considerations, installer compliance, and technical risk assessments must still be satisfied. Following further review, it became clear that proceeding could involve significant planning delays, which is why the case did not move forward. This decision was taken before any contractual commitment and in line with standard ECO4 delivery requirements.

We want to be clear that our objective is always to deliver work wherever it is feasible to do so. ECO4 installations are fully funded, and there is no commercial benefit to us in declining a viable case. If an installation can be delivered compliantly and within the required timeframes, we actively want to proceed.

We also dispute the claim of poor communication. One of our team members specifically commented on how pleasant you were to speak with at the start and made repeated efforts to remain in contact and assist throughout the assessment stage.

Given that no installation, contract, or funded work ever took place, we would respectfully question why a public review of this nature has been left when we ultimately did not work together beyond an initial assessment.

Solar power

I've just had solar panels and battery installed by eco providers. I can not fault the team that did the install at all. Very friendly and very reassuring. Extremely professional tradesman

Edmund knocked at the door introducing himself, straight away a likeable person. Told me me what he was going to do and said if I had any questions to just ask. Didn't need to ask as he had covered everything beforehand, during and afterwards.

Very unhappy with this company

Very unhappy with this company. Our application for Eco 4 retrofit was surveyed, agreed and approved by local council in early August. We were told in early September work would start in about a months time and we were at the front of the queue.
We cleared our house and found temporary accommodation so that they could get the job done quicker and easier.
When I chased it up in October, I was told the job hadnt gone through to planning yet and it would likely be early November before it started. There was no explanation for the delay. So we stayed in our temporary accommodation.
In the middle of November I checked again and was told that funding had gone on hold and our works would not start this year,if at all.
I chased this again after the ECO4 scheme was scrapped in the budget, and have had no response. It seems like they have just wasted our time and money trying to get this work done. It has taken them 3 and 1/2 months to do absolutely nothing apart from lie to us and keep us on hold. We could have gone to a different company and got the work done before the scheme was scrapped.

Response: Yes , I appreciate funding was suspended recently, but you had plenty of time to process our works well before this. We were told more than once we were at the front of the queue, we will start in a month , etc. So the recent suspension of funds is not really an excuse for it not being done in October as we were promised. The ECO4 scheme does not finish until the end of March so there must still be funds available. When can I get a start date or a definitive "no we dont want the job "

Just had the insulation done on our 150…

Just had the insulation done on our 150 year old stone built croft house. Brilliant job, and the finish is so smooth I don't want to paper anymore. Doubt the walls and ceilings have ever looked this good.
Jimmy, Dion and Ali are great lads, came as contractors, left as friends. If you are up here again the kettle will be on.
Next week will be the heat pump and then the solar.
Can't wait for our lovely cosy home just in time for winter, thanks all.

Great experience with an eco heating upgrade

I recently had an eco-friendly boiler installed by Eco Providers and I’m extremely pleased with the service. The team (both office and the lads on the field) were professional, friendly and they explained everything clearly. The installation was smooth and tidy for the most part and new system is already running efficiently, so the results are starting to show!

I have just had Ashp, Solar pv and iwi done by these guys- the office staff are friendly and always keep you up to dates - there magic plan design I was given of my house was fantastic as you were able to view where everything would be going in my house.
The installation teams were spot on , they explained everything they were clean and tidy and worked hard

These people defiantly do what the tin says

Looking forward to a toasty house this Christmas

Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) and Property Insulation under a purported 'Government Scheme.'

I am writing this review as a formal warning to the public and as an appeal to others who have suffered similar negligence and financial loss at the hands of EcoProvider. My experience over the past 18 months has been characterised by misleading information, catastrophic system failure, and non-existent customer support: As a vulnerable single mother and cancer patient, the conduct of this project was disgraceful. The initial communication provided misleading assurances regarding the scheme and the system quality.The installation period lasted approximately two months. During this time, my property was left as a construction site. Most critically, my son and I were left without heating and hot water in the middle of winter, with outdoor temperatures plummeting to -8 degrees Celsius.After 18 months since completion, the system has proven to be an energy drain rather than an efficiency upgrade. The core promises made by EcoProvider have not been met. The failure of this system has led to unbelievable electricity bills, directly contradicting the claimed benefits of the scheme (SCAM) and causing severe financial loss. This situation is more than just a poor installation; it represents a significant failure in consumer protection, placing vulnerable individuals in distress and causing substantial financial harm.

Fabulous service

Thank you so very much to Eco Providers, from the staff at customer service, the surveyors & all the guys working in our old cottage.
All the guys who have worked on our home have been incredibly friendly, helpful & explained when we needed to know things.
They all clean up after themselves, they always seem happy & cheerful in their work, they usually start about 8am & finish between 5pm/6pm
We've had insulation, new radiators, solar panels, heat pump, boilers & new copper piping throughout, they have all done a superb job. Yes there's dust , but it won't take a lot of cleaning later. We are very happy.

KEEP AWAY!

THEY HAVE LEFT TWO 86 & 87 YEAR OLD FARMERS IN THE COLD FOR WINTER!
MY REVIEW IS BELOW THE POINTS I'VE RAISED AGAINST THEIR REPLY.
1. Today they've tried every trick in their book to get Trust Pilot to delete MY review. Didn’t work.
2. NO APOLOGY WHAT SO EVER IN THEIR REPLY, SAYS IT ALL!
3. Sensitive information about my own properties? IT'S SURVEYS OF OUR PROPERTIES, Looking at taking legal action to retrieve them.
4. They requested private information in a non secure email system.
5. Funding. They knew their funding was going to be pulled some time ago, and they hopefully thought they could secure more funding . Hence whenever I contacted them about the plans they pushed the application down the road. Stopping me applying at other companies with excuses.
6. Soon as the trouble started I REQUESTED ALL COMMUNICATION BY EMAIL, As I didn’t trust them, I wanted everything in writing plus as a working farmer it's dangerous keep getting mobile calls. But they still tried to call me constantly, also leaving messages. HARASSMENT!
7. I LIKE TO KINDLY REMINED THIS COMPANY I’VE NEVER USED ABUSIVE LANGUAGE, NOT ONCE. I HAVE ONLY REQUESTED THE REPORTS. JUST THAT MAYBE YOUR COMPANY LIKES TO CONTROL THE NARRATIVE. LIKE PHONE YOUR NUMBER TO COMPLAIN...GUESS WHAT....? YOU GET THE SAME PEOPLE. OWNER ISN’T AVAILABLE.

To be frank I’ve kept my calm.

This companies affiliate advertised in the spring to Farmers in a farming magazine. My 87 year-old uncle wanted a new heating system. He has cancer and it’s now getting worse. My Father is 86 years old has lost his leg and looks like he’s about to loose his good leg.
As you read in the companies reply, no apology to my uncle and father, nothing, just them defending their own horrendous performance. They have the reports on the properties they just want to look after themselves not the customers they have dropped in the cold. Feel free to look on Facebook also, SURPRISE SURPRISE, THEY HAVE NOW DELETED THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE, STILL CONTROLING THEIR AWARD WINNING NARRATIVE!

Terrible company. 5 months of sitting on application. Then without warning they pull the plug.
ASKED THEM TO GIVE SITE REPORTS OF PROPERTIES SO OTHER COMPANIES CAN DO INSTALL. THEY REFUSE LEAVING TWO MEN IN THE COLD! HORRENDOUS.
NO DATA PROTECTION FOR APPLICATIONS.
Promises made and broken.
Not a company anyone should be dealing with.
I have all the communications from this company.
I will be contacting the authorities with all the communications.

UPDATE COMPANY WANTS TO KNOW IF I'M GENUINE?!
THEY 100% KNOW WHO I AM.
JUST ASK HEAD OF SALES! SHE PUT THE PHONE DOWN ON ME TWICE BECAUSE SHE WON'T BE SPOKEN TOO LIKE THAT. UNKNOWN TO HER I RECORDED THE CONVERSATIONS AS I DIDN'T TRUST HER, WHICH PROVED RIGHT.
THE DEADLINE OF ECO4 IS END MARCH 2026. SO AFTER 5 MONTHS OF SITTING ON THE APPLICATIONS THEY'VE PULLED THE APPLICATIONS WITH OVER 4 MONTHS TO GO.
I ASKED FOR REPORTS ON THE PROPERTIES THEY WON'T GIVE THEM.
THE HEAD OF SALES TOLD ME IF YOU WANT TO COMPLAIN ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND ALSO THE AUTHORITIES REGARDING DATA PROTECTION I WAS TOLD TO DO WHAT I MUST.
DIDN'T CARE, NO APOLOGY, JUST ANOTHER NUMBER, WHO CARES ABOUT TWO FARMING BROTHERS IN THEIR MID 80'S.
AS A GOODBYE FROM THE HEAD OF SALES SHE WROTE 'ALL THE BEST' IN FINDING SOMEONE ELSE TO DO THE WORK. SARCASTIC, WHILE SHE SITS ON THE REPORTS OF THE PROPERTIES AND WON'T HAND THEM OVER. (TOM THE OWNER MUST HAVE INSTRUCTED HER NOT TOO) SHOCKING BEHAVIOUR. UNPROFESSIONAL TILL THE END
