Absolutely ruined my new washing machine 😡 I keep getting black stains on anything I wash, long after using Dylon! I've tried cleaning it with bleach and everything else suggested but nothing works.... Vis mer

Oh my god why didn't I read the…
Oh my god why didn't I read the reviews! I used the black dye to dye my daughters grey dress black. It's come out bright orange! She's going to be fuming!
My beautiful white towels are ruined
I am a very upset and dissatisfied customer and wish to complain!
I purchased 4 white pure cotton bath towels. After using them I decided they would be nice in a different colour so I purchased 2 Dylon for washing machines, dusty lilac
I followed the instructions carefully and to the letter, spending hours washing them as instructed, then adding the dye as instructed, and then following up with another wash as instructed. This used a lot of expensive electricity.
The results are shown in the attached photos. My beautiful white towels are ruined. The dye is patchy, darker in some places and other places not even touched.
I am most upset, extremely angry, out of pocket and very annoyed.
Unimpressed
So, I have a fairly expensive 100% cotton, grey bedding set, which has faded a bit in places but is still otherwise in excellent condition so I didn't want to throw it away.
I decided to dye it using Dylon Smoke Grey machine dye. I bought 3 pods and got cracking. I split it down into manageable weights and I thought at first it had all come out nicely. I followed all instructions carefully and have used black dylon many times before with no issues.
It was only when dry that I realised the duvet cover and 2 pillow cases are covered in big, inky blue patches. They look an absolute mess and are frankly ruined. I wish I'd just left them as they were - a touch faded in places (which has only happened because they directly face a south facing window).
I'm now in the process of attempting to dye them again and see if that has any effect but I'm not holding out much hope. If the problem remains, I will have to bin £150 of bedding.
Have dyed clothes every now and then…
Have dyed clothes every now and then throughout my whole life, so I know exactly what to expect.
Obviously followed Dylon instructions to the letter. Used a beautiful peony pink... so I thought.
100% washed clean 100% cotton, 100% everything CORRECT.
😄 🤣 😂 😆 😄 🤣 Nothing at all like peony, maybe 1% peony 99% white. Everything is just junk nowadays, profit over customer satisfaction. Will NOT use this garbage ever again, don't waste your money folks.
Do not use Sandy Beige!
I used sandy beige on a pair of white cotton jeans, followed the instructions to the letter. They came out covered in blue speckles and had to go straight in the bin. Absolutely ruined.
More or less useless
I have used Dylon a few times. Every time, I get dark spots on the clothes. Sometimes the dye does not cover well. I will not give Dylon another try.
Disappointed at poor response to complaint
I was disappointed and a little stunned by the poor response when I raised a concern over dye failure last week - the first time I've complained after decades of occasional successful use of dylon dyes. I completed the Investigation Form, went back & forth for days sending extra photos and answering questions for Rachel at Henkel. The problem was some very darky inky splotches on an otherwaise nicely dyed garment, but the outcome of the investigation was apparently that my 'patchy' result was caused by using insufficient dye, and that I could remedy the problem by buying further products! The only thing the investigation didn't consider was anything at all to do with the product, the batch code or supplier! I have since seen many other reviews of a similar nature and I'm shocked that they behave in this way, wasting customers' time after already causing disappointment with the faulty product. I sent a follow up asking for the matter to be elevated to a supervisor but received no further reply. Will forward to CEO office in due course.
Useless don't bother
I used this as there was some colour run from when it was previously washed. I won't ever use it again, it actually turned the colour of the t-shirt to a totally different colour (originally green and turned it to brown with black patches). Totally ruined the t-shirt which I have had to throw away and didn't even shift the original colour run, absolutely useless.

Used Dylon washing machine dye to colour a white denim jacket lavender. Now has tiny blue and pink specks all over it! Completely unwearable. Avoid.
Dyed my Husband's cotton track suit
Dyed my Husband's cotton track suit, from a pale light grey, to a supposedly navy blue; he now has a pale grey cotton track suit, that is covered in tiny speckles of something... what a waste of time, electricity, and money...
TERRIBLE! I so wish I'd read the reviews first!!
I so wish I'd read the reviews first!!! The machine Dylon has ruined our best set of bedlinen...Egyptian cotton duvet cover, sheet and pillow cases. 'Followed the instructions to the letter and ended up with sandy beige with blue and purple splodges all over it...absolutely terrible!! It looks as though it's gone mouldy! DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!! NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE!
All good so far
I've only ever used the Dylan navy blue dye or black dye but everytime I have it has worked perfectly and my clothes look and actually feel as good as new again.
I did want to use the sandy beige one next for some shorts but reading the reviews of that colour I think I'll avoid. Definitely recommend for navy blue and black though. Read instructions carefully though
Dylon said my dress hadn’t dyed…
Dylon said my dress hadn’t dyed anywhere near the correct shade as the label said professional dry clean …however it said before that HAND WASH .. it is 100% cotton ….why would anyone dry clean a dress like that. It was the worst cop out I’ve ever heard from a supposedly reputable company.wish I’d read the reviews before buying. Started with a pale lilac dress ..used deep violet dyes and ended up with a pale lilac dress.
DYLON / HENKEL should be ashamed of themselves…..….
DYLON; avoid this company and their products at all costs! I dyed 2 brand new cream throws in “Sandy beige” and they ended up with purple and blue speckles in patches all over them. After completing their very long form and sending them lots of photos and 28, YES 28 emails … 13 months later, I STILL haven’t had a response… they are now totally ignoring me. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING COMPANY. AVOID AVOID AVOID!
50 years of using Dylon just came to an abrupt end!
I have been using Dylon since the days of the little tin that you had to picture with a knife!! 50 years?
Now they sell the plastic pod so I bought 2.
One was sea blue and everything I dyed was pretty even - except a T shirt with a dark speck on the front! The second was denim blue - used for years for towels etc.
Disaster! EVERYTHING is uneven, speckled and the white washed pur cotton is like a tye dye!!
From reviews, it looks like some colours are the problem.
I loved the big sachets that you put in drum before dry articles. I do not want a piece of plastic to throw away that destroys my clothes!
Will now see what response I get to my complaint.
Very bad service and product.
Very bad service and product.
We bought 2 black die to do our curtains and it didn't work.
The Dylon Die for washing machine is a scam and doesn't work.
We have complaint to the company and requested a refund but they refused to do so.
Avoid then.
Rubbish product (Black dye pod).
Rubbish product (Black dye pod).
Did nothing to improve or enhance any of the black items washed, infact the only thing it did dye was the washing machine rubber seal!
Dont waste your money, £6,50 i will never get back!
Bought the Dylon Dark plum machine dye…
Bought the Dylon Dark plum machine dye and stuck a TK Maxx bargain ecru chore coat in the drum, along with a grim grey green stetson cap. Did a bit of googling, noted that the stiching would retain it's original(ish) colour. Spot on if so. Result: A triumph. Jacket has a consistent colour, stitching as hoped for. The cap, considerably better than when it went in. Jacket and Dye all in £15, colour me happy.
Used a Dylan dye in my washing machine
Used a Dylan dye in my washing machine. Worked fairly well, the thread in the item didn’t change colour. The biggest problem is that even a week on, after numerous attempts at cleaning my washing machine, including a bleach wash, a Dettol washing machine cleaner wash and a Dr Beckmann Deep Clean W M wash, and wiping all rubber seals between every wash, my washing is still getting ruined by dye remnants. Avoid at all costs.
Wow wow wow !! Super happy
Wow wow wow
Didn’t think this would work honestly.
I’ve been dying to decorate my bathroom but with the cost of living crisis every spare penny is going on the household bills
I couldn’t afford new towels and was getting severely embarrassed at the state of my faded towels
So I thought I’d try machine Dylon
I followed the instructions to the letter an added salt too and look at the difference in my pictures they look brand new again !!
And it didn’t stain my washing either just an empty wash and a wipe down and not a whisper of dye left
Thank you Dylon !!
