1 STAR. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DRIVE TIME NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE TO ANYONE.
I recently purchased a vehicle from Drive Time in June for my son. This was supposed to be his very first car, something he worked for and was excited about. Unfortunately, what should have been a great experience has turned into an absolute nightmare.
Within the first couple of weeks of owning the vehicle, it broke down. Drive Time directed us to their warranty department to have it repaired. We got the vehicle back several weeks later, only to discover it was having the exact same problems.
We were then sent back through the claims department and ended up having to come out of pocket another $1,000. After several more weeks, the same issues continued. Now the warranty department is refusing to fix the vehicle, and Drive Time has offered us no reasonable solution.
We are now stuck with a $40,000 vehicle that doesn't run, while my son is still expected to make payments on it.
What makes this even more frustrating is that we specifically asked for a full refund or a replacement vehicle. Instead of working with us in good faith, we felt pressured into purchasing this particular vehicle because we didn't have a large amount of money available for a down payment.
I understand that sometimes vehicles have mechanical problems. What I don't understand is how a company can sell someone a vehicle, have it break down almost immediately, fail to resolve the same recurring problems, and then leave the customer holding the bill.
This isn't just about a car. This is about a young man buying his very first vehicle and being left with a financial burden instead of something he can depend on.
Customer service should mean standing behind what you sell. Putting customers first should mean something. And doing the right thing shouldn't be optional.
All we have asked for is a fair resolution, either a full refund or a dependable replacement vehicle.
Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Drive Time Nashville to anyone looking for a reliable vehicle or customer service that actually puts the customer first.
I sincerely hope someone in management takes responsibility and makes this right. Jeff dowlen
