Went into Bandon looking for two items. A staff member, Colm, got one and another I got an old version of. Colm explained how it was upgraded and he got me the cirrect one from the store room. It was no hassle. Local and friendly service.

This review relates specifically to my experience with DID Electrical Terryland, Galway. I want to make that clear because my eventual experience with DID Head Office was considerably better.

I bought a €129.99 mini fridge by phone from the Terryland store on 26 May after being specifically told it would be available for collection the following morning. It wasn't. They then offered home delivery instead. That didn't happen either.

I cancelled the purchase and asked for my money back. What followed was weeks of chasing the Terryland store, emails going unanswered and repeated assurances that never actually resulted in a refund.

By 23 June, Terryland confirmed in writing that they could refund me by bank transfer. I immediately supplied my IBAN. Nothing arrived.

I eventually escalated the whole thing to DID Head Office. They acknowledged my complaint on 8 July, and I later received another phone call from Terryland assuring me that the refund had been sent to Accounts for "processing". Again, nothing arrived.

By 10 August, more than two months after asking for my money back, I still hadn't received the €129.99. At that point I reported the business to the CCPC, started a chargeback with AIB and submitted a Small Claims application through Galway District Court.

The refund finally arrived by bank transfer on 11 August.

I do want to separate my experience with the Terryland store from the help I eventually got from the Assistant Manager at DID Head Office in Dublin. Once I explained how far this had gone, they actually took ownership of the issue, chased it down and got the refund sorted. They also followed up afterwards with proper confirmation that it had been processed.

My one-star review is therefore specifically about my experience with DID Terryland. A customer should not have to spend weeks chasing a store, escalate to Head Office, contact their bank, report the matter to the CCPC and start a Small Claims case just to recover €129.99 that the store had already agreed to refund.

A simple failed purchase and refund turned into a completely unnecessary two-and-a-half-month ordeal.

SVisited the Tullamore store on Wed 26th to "only" look at hoovers, was immediately greeted by Mandy who was so helpful and gave great advice on the pros and cons on various brands available. Within 10 mins I left the store with a new Shark hoover.

I had a wonderful experience with DID Electrical in Limerick. From my initial phone call to enquire whether the product I needed was in stock, right through to the moment I walked out the door with my purchase under my arm, the entire experience was absolutely delightful—thanks to Georgiana.

This young lady is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. She made the whole process so easy and enjoyable. Her excellent customer service has certainly made DID Electrical my first and only stop for future purchases of electronics and appliances.
