EXCELLENT. I use Dewar each year to have my boiler serviced and ant plumbing jobs done. I cant recommend them enough. I have just had Martin in this morning. He was so friendly, professional and helpful. I have had Joey here previously and he was great too. Ashleigh in the office is always fantastic to deal with too. Dewar are great value and professional. We'll done to all of the team.

I've been a customer since I got my boiler installed in 2018. Have got service with them since great service can't fault them.

Very pleased with the boiler service, Martin arrived on time and was so efficient. I was also concerned about a leak from one of my radiators and he diagnosed the problem for me. I am a regular customer of Dewar as I have always found the company to be very reliable and easy to deal with.

Buyer Beware
I am astonished that nobody has commented on the exorbitant price Dewars charge. Example: €420 to have a ball c0ck replaced in the attic. I benchmarked local suppliers and got estimates from €140 to €200 to have the ballc0ck replaced. I paid a call out to Dewars which was not refunded because I had the repair completed by another supplier. Buyer beware Dewars.
Rusted new boiler because badly installed by Dewar
Dewar installed a new gas boiler in my home in Feb 2022. Within a year it was leaking intermittently, then within another year there was rust down the inside of the boiler because of water getting in from outside because it wasn't sealed properly when installed. I called them to fix it, but Dewar refused to honour the warranty, and when they finally did come to have a look they refused any responsibility for the rust and had no solution to offer. I contacted them again after that for advice on fixing it (even if I had to pay for it myself), they did not reply. Very disappointing, terrible service, best avoided. Cost over 3500 euro.
€420 to replace a ballcock? Don’t think so.
Dewar charged me €160 to do a call out. They described it as investigative. Their diagnosis, I needed a new ballcock installed in my attic. Water was flowing out of the overflow pipe. They then quoted me €260 in addition to replace the ballc0ck. Seemed a lot. Benchmarked them against another reputable firm who got the business at €140. Then I checked all the trust pilot reviews. Most of the 5 star reviews were posted on the same date in May last year. With similar layout and language. This surprised me. Summary: too expensive and unfortunately I am now wary of trust pilot reviews too.
Pushing unnecessary costs
The boiler they sold me (Vokera) only lasted five and a half years. When I reported ongoing pressure loss, I paid €160 for what was supposed to be a leak-detection visit. The technician was in my home for less than 10 minutes, did not open the boiler, did not check a single radiator, room, or fitting, and used no diagnostic tools whatsoever. He simply stood beside the boiler and claimed he already knew the issue, seems common for this boiler type.
Instead of diagnosing the problem that I paid for, he immediately recommended expensive add-ons: an external expansion vessel and leak sealant, even though he also said he didn’t believe there were any leaks. I then paid €210 for the installation, only to be told later that I would need to pay an additional €290 for sealant anyway or the work would not proceed. The call back was aggressive, unprofessional, and felt like pure upselling. I refused to pay for the sealant.
Then they cancelled the 2nd appointment without informing me, I figured it out only when I called during the date about the engineer absent, and only refunded the €210 installation fee, refusing to refund the €160 for a service that, in my view, was never actually carried out. I also requested a call back from a manager, but no one ever contacted me.
There is no loyalty to their customers, only unnecessary upselling. Unreliable boiler, no diagnostics, poor communication, and a clear pattern of pushing unnecessary costs.
Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering this company to look elsewhere.
Absolutely terrible Service
Absolutely terrible Service from this company or should I say scam artists.
I have a boiler that I bought from them 7yrs ago and I arranged to have a call out as it wasn't working. They came to the property 2hrs 30mins late due to some appointment issue and then spoke to the tenant inside and promptly left because the tenant had tried to fix the issue during the week. Using some feeble excuse that under RGI regulations they can't touch the boiler from a Health & Safety basis. Total an absolute rubbish, if they can't deal with a boiler that is fully intact but has been touched by the tenant then they aren't a boiler repair company FULL STOP!!!!
Great Experience
Called Dewalt after a bad experience with another plumbing company. Issue was boiler not working on oil heating. Paid 170 in advance. A lad called Jack came out and he was very knowledgeable and explained what he was doing. He root caused it to the pump. He rang the office to see how much is cost. As the house was very cold I asked hm how long it would take to fix. He said he could probably come back in a few hours and he did. Heat again.

Sudden 5 stars!!
Interesting a string of negative reviews over a prolonged period, then suddenly about 20 different 5 star reviews over 2 days in May and June 2025.

Called Dewar regarding shower not working. Paid prior to call out, next day young guy very polite looked at the shower 15 minutes said he didn’t know what the problem was, it’s unusual. Said the owner would ring in 1 hour, I rang 3 times left a message no call back, 1 week later. I contacted another company, 10 minutes onsite and fixed the shower. Absolute disgraceful service, didn’t have the decency to call and discuss options. Would not recommend..
