I purchased a BMW Approved Used vehicle from Group 1 Norwich for almost £22,000. The initial sales experience was good, but unfortunately the vehicle preparation and after-sales experience have been extremely disappointing.

When I collected the car, it was not prepared to the standard I expected. The vehicle was still noticeably dirty, despite being sold as an Approved Used BMW. I subsequently discovered other issues, including an incorrectly positioned/faulty wiper arm and a rear light that is not fitted correctly. BMW Farnborough has since adjusted the wiper arm and advised that the rear light requires further investigation.

The most serious issue has been the condition of both rear tyres. After properly cleaning and inspecting the car, I discovered significant dry rot/perishing, cracking, slits and gouges, including areas of damaged/missing rubber. The BMW Approved Used Technician Report recorded “No defects” against all four tyres. I raised this with Norwich on the 25th of August and provided detailed photographs.

Since then, the communication and after-sales support have been extremely poor. I have repeatedly had to chase the dealership, with no meaningful response from after-sales or management for weeks. When I finally spoke to a manager, I found the attitude rude, dismissive and unhelpful. My concerns were brushed aside, with the fact the car had passed an MOT being used to dismiss the tyre issue rather than properly addressing the condition of the tyres or explaining how they could have been recorded as “No defects”.

The whole experience has felt completely one-sided, with a genuine lack of care, accountability or willingness to resolve the issues. I have felt ignored, belittled and treated as though I am an inconvenience, despite spending almost £22,000 on an Approved Used BMW.

I have now escalated the tyre matter to The Motor Ombudsman and reported the MOT to the DVSA for independent review.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Group 1 Norwich. The level of after-sales care has been extremely disappointing.

Called and requested some background information on our car and got exactly what was required in an email within minutes, Abi went out of her way to help and get the information. Very helpful and super polite and efficent.

My wing mirror on a BMW X5 needed replacing after a small incident. I felt that on a 3 month old car I should take to a main dealer to make sure it was repaired properly. I took it to Cooper Norwich to get it inspected & quoted. A very polite chap from the parts team came out to inspect a "wing mirror" not a complicated part of the car. Everything was on show as it site on the car door! I was quoted £754.30+ vat for the glass and necessary parts. When the car went in I was called to advise more parts were required? How can this be I thought. It was fully inspected before the work was started? It turns out they completely missed that it needed an entire mirror and it would be another £700!! The manager of the service division said "these things happen" No attempt at all to mitigate this absolute shambles. The net effect is I have to finish the job they half did! Beware as these guys are incompetent at best. I am getting done at an independent garage with genuine BMW parts for just £195 + vat.
Incompetent & extortionate so beware!

I had the worst experience ever. I had to report to the police my Samsung tablet being stolen whilst in with them to be serviced.

If I could leave minus or 0 stars I would. Having owned minis for the past 15 years (3 used and 2 new) I literally love minis but given chance over chance over these years, I no longer want to own a mini through cooper Norwich as the service is worse than poor. Andrew was amazing back in 2008 and 2017 and I cant fault him but after he left for the second time thats when the service took a deep nosedive. The staff were unprofessional slagging Andrew off to customers including me after leaving (Tom) and having dealt with Tom on numerous occasions now and quite frankly an apparent manager now is laughable, he's deceitful, obnoxious and damn right rude if something goes wrong. This is because he then knows he won't get his commission and gives up on the customer. I've previously been sold a 'approved' used car with no air con working and constant oil leaks and everytime I've had to deal with mini its been patronising to say the least (ultimately always from Tom, the rest have better communication and customer service skills which he is clearly lacking). They will no longer get my custom, I may love the car but after all these experiences I've had enough. They can't even get my contact details correct after contacting them multiple times and in person. I cant wait now to get rid of my car and give another company a try all based on the way they can communicate. Service is everything and it's suppose to be good!!! Not at all at mini Norwich!

I have owned an array of BMW vehicles over the years, X5 Msport, X2 Msport, X1Msport, M140i, M2, 120dMsport, 118 Msport and have always gone back to them as the after service is amazing, more expensive than other badge cars but it is worth it as you know if you have an issue then it will be sorted. Lately this could not be further than the truth, Coopers Norwich seems they don't contact customers, don't respond to complaints and genuinely reply to nothing. Diamond cut alloys corroding, not bothered, five times (4 they have had chance to reply) i have chased the initial request to have the car booked in and inspected, funny as when i paid for it i cannot remember you chasing me for the payment. Personally, after the last 2 weeks i would not recommend owning a BMW ANYMORE. Switch to another brand now as they are either penny pinching or have lost all customer care.

Mini went in for major service came out with warning faults that it did not have before which they was not interested in

Just thought I would leave a review after my experience today, I came to collect a part and a young lady on reception was extremely helpful and pleasant . I told my husband how friendly she was, and wanted to let everyone what a credit she was to your firm.

Only interested selling new cars, no after sales service or interest by the salesperson.
No one ever calls you back on request unless you say you have money to spend.
Would never recommend for this poor experience.
Robots have more personality than those working on the call desk.

If I could give no stars I would:

I raised a complaint with the way my service was carried out. I receive a reply which I thought was unreasonable so I have requested the matter be dealt with by head office. I am still waiting for a reply so asked for their trade association details and they still have not responded. I feel as though they do not career. They have taken my money so think I will just go away.

I was charged the usual £350 service amount but not provided with everything I usually get, such as getting the car cleaned. Then, after driving 20 miles from leaving the BMW store to home, I discovered there was absolutely no oil in the engine as my engine warning light appeared. I. I had to top the engine up with a litre of oil myself which is concerning giving I’d just paid BMW £350 to do this for me as, after it being collected by BMW for a serious recall, I required a “major service.” They sold it to me as a serious matter so I just let them do it.

I then received a telephone call telling me the oil had all disappeared because I had an oil leak and didn’t not pay the £500 to have the oil leak fixed. I responded by making it clear there was nothing wrong with my engine and that it was not loosing oil and never has, and certainly would not have lost a whole engine of oil driving from Cooper Croydon to home. The car had been left on the driver a long time and there was no oil on my drive. What’s more alarming is since topping it up with oil myself none has leaked from the engine and I’ve still got a full engine of oil and have made several long distance drives to Gloucestershire from Surrey. This is a clear indication that BMW did not fill my engine up with oil despite paying g £350 to do this. More to the point it is very suspicious I was then told I had no oil because I was warned about the oil leak and did not give BMW £500 to fix the oil leak. It is all very strange and concerning. I would not use this business because they are untrustworthy.

**ATTENTION** Stay well clear ! BMW IPSWICH.Never again. They got caught out lying (black and white evidence) and now refusing to even service a brand new car I bought from them. Inchcape said they would fix prior to their lies being found out. Stay well clear of Inchcape Group. Disgusting service and now politely telling me where to go ! After how many thousands they taken off me. Bmw should be ashamed. Inchcape have now removed my ability to comment on their Facebook page, clearly not wanting anyone seeing this

Cooper Croydon failed to repair my z4 the 4 times it went there in 2020 within a 5 month period.

Instead they charged me for doing their fault findings.

My driver seat was ripped & damaged.

My car body work was scratched & damaged on many panels.

They refused to take accountability for damaging my car

Customer service refused to help.

Avoid this garage at all cost.

Service a Mini Cooper Croydon is always terrible. I unfortunately have no choice but to go there as the alternative is over 20 miles away. I have had 3 encounters with them each worse than the next. Rude staff especially the manager a Matthew Cullen who comes across rude arrogant and very unhelpful. I have been over charged, given a courtesy car with no petrol that ran out before I reached home, not received car when promised to name but a few issues. The only thing I can do is now sell the mini as I don’t have access to a reliable service centre for it and buy another brand of car (any other brands offer much better cheaper service)

I purchased a BMW X1 from Coopers 4/5 years ago and the Navigation system recently failed.
Their customer services informed me that they 'don't do Navigation' and one of a couple oif engineers I spoke with suggested contacting Warne Motors Bury Ltd in Bury St. Edmunds, a small BMW specialist garage. This I did and received superb and successful service in recoding and upgrading my device.
I shall use them for all my future servicing needs.

I part exchanged my Mini Cooper in August 2020 with Cooper Norwich. Since I have been in a battle with the DVLA. I was told by MINI Cooper to complete the V6 and post the WHOLE document to them. I was specifically warned to not update owner details via the DVLA website when I offered to do this.

Forward on SEVEN months I’m still trying to update the owner records as Cooper Norwich DID NOT either forward or return the yellow section of the V6 to me or DVLA. (Which I have since been told should have never been given to the byer)

The after sales customer service experienced by Cooper Norwich has been just dismal. From being told to just stop my tax DD with DVLA to them saying that im not responsible for the car - when in fact i’m receiving threatening letters from DVLA saying I should have insurance on the car I sold!!

It's cost me extra money in postage costs, time, phone calls and paying for someone else's car tax since August!!!

I would never buy a car from here ever again.

I was trying to contact the previous owner of my BMW which was serviced by Cooper Chelmsford. Knowing that under Data Protection law they would not be able to supply the details to me I requested they pass my personal details on to the company concerned. I phoned twice and was told someone would call back but no-one did. On the third occasion I eventually got through to a lady who refused to help on the basis of Data Protection, which I pointed out was ridiculous as I was giving them permission to pass my details on. I was then told they just don't do that sort of thing. So a simple 5 minute job which would've been a great help to me was too much trouble. Really poor service, would've given no stars if possible.
